View Full Version : New workout and some ??'s

Well since I have been going to my gym I always worked out alone and had done a full body workout in 2/3 days and start the cyle over.
Now I have some guys I work out with so its pretty good.
I'm 6'1 about 205/210. I would like to make it to 190-195 if possible.
So far we do everything in 5 days. The workouts are longer cause we are doing a lot more exercises compared to when i was doing my 2/3 days alone.

New routine:
Monday-Chest:Bench/Dumbells and a light arms workout
Tuesday-Back
Wednesday-Shoulders
Thursday-Legs
Friday-All Arms

My old routine:
Mon-Run in the AM
Tue-Run in the AM
Wed-Run in the AM
Thurs-Work on Chest and Arms/Shoulders: Flat/Incline, Tricep Curl/Ext, Barbell curl, Lat Pull, Milt Press, Should. raise and Seated row.
Fri-Legs: Squats, Hamstring curls, Leg Curl, leg press, and Calf raises
Sat-Chest and Arms again.
Sun- legs again.

I will say working out with people gets you motivated and I have increase my squats to 385 about 4x, hopefully I can max bench at 315 in the coming weeks so far i get 275 4x.
Question though, is it benefical to do pull ups before going on to my back workouts? I usually get to the gym late and skip the pull ups and start working out.
The only thing that sucks is that I barely get to do any cardio cause we spend about 2 hours in the gym and after we lift its about 7pm and I am ready to go home since i go straight after work, so I am trying to wake up early and do my cardio at the gym in the morning, hit the treadmill for about 20min and do abs. Is the 20min a good enought time for cardio and to burn some fat? I start off at about 6.0 so I get about 2.0-2.5 miles in 20min.
A third question...would i get more gains and results with this 5 day split or if i went back to my 2/3 day split?

any tips or ideas?
I plan on starting ON Whey and Hydroxycut Hardcore again since I have been off it for a few weeks...any other or better fat burners I should try besides Hydroxycut?
