As much as I like workin' out w/ weights I love cardio too....
my favorite is the exercise bike...
next would be the treadmill, but it's kind of tuff on the knees....
so I would say the elliptical.
but I think the bike can do it all for the cardio, because of the different programs you can plug into it.

I love just grabbing a rope and skipping for ages. for some reason I find it really meditative
Treadmill, no question. A nice 6mph 3 mile run (10 minute miles w/incline set to 2, nothing crazy) twice a week works for me.

treadmil is the best, but its tough on joints if you do it often..but everyone is different ..what ever makes u sweat more and keeps your heart rate up!

Stationary bike (I prefer real bike, outside, I could do 3 to 4 hours, outside, I have a hard time, doing 30 minutes, inside).
Rower anyone?

I love my old Tunturi stationary bike. Still going like it's brand new. Unbelievable.

As far as equipment goes, the Schwinn Airdyne will kick your a$$ in no time flat, and puts zero stress whatsoever on your joints. It's also the least boring of any 'Cardio' equipment as you can switch up between dual or single action upper/lower body. My next two favorites are good ol' rope skipping and heavy bag work. I've tried rowers, and treadmills etc, and find them WAY too BORING. It's no wonder you see them for sale constantly on E bay and Craigslist.

(...)Rower anyone?
Here. I usually do cardio on the rowing machine but will sometimes run on the treadmill for variety. The rower is much easier on the joints and I get much more of a workout on it judging from my measured heartrate.
Rower would be my choice (I can do about 1 hr at a sitting before being bored out of my tree) followed by a stationary bike (I can only take about 1/2 hr of that before boredom sets in). I'd much rather be outside on a 3-4 hr mountain bike ride, but winter doesn't allways allow for such luxury year round.

Roller blading. Running is too slow, biking is too fast. Roller blading is just right, and before you know it, your heart rate settles in around the 150-160 range. Well at least for me it does.
Rowing is the other indoor option.

I like to switch it up, cause it keeps things from becoming routine... I will swim laps for a week, then run on the track the next week, and so forth. I believe keeping things mixed up and new help.
