YEA! Shallow, I know. But last May, when I joined the gym, I was chilling at the outdoor pool after my workout, and thinking to myself...."By this time next summer, I'm going to look good in a two-piece bathing suit." It was my mental goal, and my motivation to keep going.

Well-Not only have I gone from a Size 14 to a Size 8....I bought a new bathing suit yesterday, and reached my goal of looking good with my mid-section showing again. I have developed a nice ab strip, and the middle-aged-3 x child bearing-too much junk food-lower belly speed bump is almost gone!

YEA!

On top of that-I pulled out a two piece short-bikini top outfit from the bottom of a drawer that I haven't worn in over 10yrs, and it fit! (I couldn't get the swim shorts over my hips/buttocks this time last year.)

YEA!

Not bad for a 40 something yr. old mom of 3.

Oh, and did I mention how much I love body-building?

Long Live Iron!!!

:-)

Thanks, Ladies. and yes-it does feel great. I'm gonna be strutting my stuff on the beach this summer for sure!

I kind of felt odd posting this thread, but somehow I knew other bodybuilding/fitness enthusiasts would understand the 'thrill of victory' in reaching that goal and being able to wear that two piece again.

A year of saying "no thanks' to the cakes, cookies, and brownies, and sticking to my diet and workout program has paid off-and given me additional motivation to keep at it.

Thanks again for the kind words!

This post made me think of the tourists around here. I live full time in an East Coast beach town, so I see lots and lots and lots of tourists at the beach every summer. And all sorts of ideas about what constitutes "swimsuits." Now, I am not nearly as lean as some of you here, but I got a two-piece two summers ago when I noticed how many chubby teens and young adults wore them. If they're fatter than I and they wear them, then surely I can have one, too! Silly, no?
