Denise use your business sense on this one. Look at their references, get referrals, see what kind of a track record the promoters you're interested in have, then make the decision with the one who's goals most closely match yours.

Keep the faith, keep lifting, and have an awesome day.

This is great advice, Denise. Basically do your homework before making a decision.

Have a great Monday!

I'm only gonna get one shot....so I will make the best educated decision I can. :) Thanks!

I have not disappeared!!! lol.....just so, so busy with work and my "hobby". Not missed a wo so all is well. Did my last lifting session on the old routine tonight, I do an AM session tomorrow (mostly cardio)...then off to pick up Robbie from the airport. Missed both his calls coming in since I was slammed with calls and orders....but managed to locate his flight number, which I actually jotted down in my planner (wonders never cease). I won't get back from travel until about 8 or 9PM and they will be beat given all the flying and the time difference.

So new leg day Wed....let the games begin! :D

Hi SS,

It's going to be so much fun having Robbie around.

I'm glad your schedule still allows you to wo and eat on time!

Joc gave you great advice for potential contracts. You can also ask models who have worked with a photographer in the past what they tought of him. If a guy is a scumbag, the word gets out pretty quickly.

Good luck!

Hi :)

hello oh PHAT one.....hope ur keeping busy and into trouble...... laterz hf
I'm always in trouble! lol

Good Morning Sexy!
Back at ya gorgeous!

Hey Denise...hope all is well today.
Hanging in there, lol

Robbie made it after a nightmare of flight changes and had to take another flight to Atlanta then back to Baltimore, without being able to contact me. No worries, I figured I would hang out until the next flight came in in case he was on it (he wasn't he was on another, but landed just before). Lot's of screaming people because of cancelled flights. I was able to get a bit more info then I prob should have, since I wasn't screaming at the poor woman. Then found the bar to kill time :D Everyone was mellow in there!

Anyway after finding my touch (which I misplaced, lol) we were off for OC and made good time arriving at mid-night. He went off to bed, poor Dear. And at least got abit of sleep. I'll meet back at the house shortly for Leg Day :)

It has been a whirlwind....so a quick catch up.

1st Leg Day with Robbie was so intense! I lifted much more than usual, so improvement already. Came out of shaky but OK. He asked me the following morning how I was and I was actually ok......well by afternoon it had kicked in! Every step and especially leaning down was killer....still sore today.

Last night was back and biceps...Actually went easier than I expected and we made some modifications as we went along. So far so good on not being sore.

Work is so busy right now, so I don't have much time between that and squeezing in training.

Will post pics soon.....still getting adjusted and trying to play catch up on everything else.

Oh.....got in trouble twice so far. Keep forgetting my water and my sleep schedule is way off. I'm keeping late nights and need to get that in check.

The Good: Training is outstanding (Robbie is fantastic)
The Bad: Have to go to bed earlier, that may take a bit
The Ugly: Low water intake, I can see the effect in my skin almost immediately (drying).

Hi sexy. Hope yourre having a great weekend. Looks like your are enjoying your workouts. Why are you cutting water down?
Hey Gorgeous! Workouts are great. Not cutting down water at all. Got a bit in trouble because I forget to drink it all day. I'm the type of person who could go all day without anything to drink......after coffee that is. So I have to force it.

Am training over the weekend (mostly cardio). Lots of posing and such right now. My shoes are too big now!!! So I need another pair of shoes for show and right now just were my heels a bit big. How weird is that???? Weight is still dropping off, I am at 117 now. But muscles seem fine, so we'll see where I settle. Dropped weight since yesterday, but he allowed me a cheat for my 29th (lol) birthday....so got some boardwalk fries (I didn't eat even half) and later went dancing (and drinking) all night at the club. :D

Calves, Shoulders, triceps today. Was nicely painful. They shot video so we'll see how it turns out. Everything is coming along wonderfully....so happy with everything. :) Robbie is very patient and explains everything.

Girls are off for a mini vacation. Which is great, they get to enjoy their summer while all this is going one. It's wake up, eat, work, train, eat, pose, bed.....some days I get to train in the AM, lol

Hey Hoos, thanks for checking in on me.

Thanks for all the comments everyone. Sorry I am not keeping up. Have been going through some major life changing relationship issues. I tend to mentally shut down and turn all emotions off in situations like this. Which really tends to tax me. I am checking the boards, just can't seem to get the mental energy to post like I want to.

Training is still going great. It is the constant in my life right now, so will not be letting it slide. I need it to stay going forward with whatever life brings.

Still dropping weight, not sure if it's the training or stress levels. My appetite is nil so I have to really force foods. That may be the only thing sliding right now (and sleep). I have tended not to be able to finish the meals I have. Funny enough though I am pushing more weight then before during training. Because of the weight loss, finally getting a lean hard look.

Anyway forgive me for not updating as much. I think the worst is passing and then it can only get better from here (I hope).

Thanks for the hug, I needed That! :)

He hit me hard with something that actually made sense, and has me bummed last night. He said I have set myself up for total failure (relationship). By training so hard and getting into the modeling again, I have created a situation, whereas the "right" guy would never talk to me. Therefore, I am only left with arrogant *******s mostly with money, who will use me, treat me like dirt then dump me for the next or younger version later. It scares me that someone who is kind and actually would care about me if I got sick or something happened to me, wouldn't ever even talk to me.......

Ahh.....this is supposed to be a training log...so on with. This time next year this whole mess will only be a memory.

Whoa! Sounds like a guy who has some security issues. First let's be fair, I don't know you past these posts on a web board. I don't know your dating habits. But you really strike me as an intelligent, street smart person. I would tend to say you could tell or at least suspect if a man is only interested in you for the trophy girl effect. Decided to go out last evening and watch a band. Got basically tackled as soon as I entered and felt like shark bait. One very tall handsome gentleman I guess took pity on me, and I received the grand tour of the club, lighting and sound room, upper floor, roof top view of the bay (quite beautiful). Handsome, very wealthy and into me. Those other words haunted me, and I went home .....alone and he has no way to contact me (although he asked). I know where to find him if I want later. But seems I can't be bought, that's a relief! lol

That's our girl! Now, go lift some iron :)

you got it!

Update finally!!!

Training is going great! As of today abs are hard as a rock.... and I don't foresee any more weight loss etc. I think I have hit target.

Lifting session are dead on and aside from a bit of a back track last session I was lifting more and more each time and am definitely into a groove. Cardio session are easy as always and we've had to add some stuff in for my areas which seem to need to be hit harder to get anything out of them (calves and abs).

The Good: For the first time in my life I am pleased with the results of my training
The Bad: Gotta get all my meals in me and eat ON TIME!
The Ugly: Well we covered that already.

Hi there SeaSiren

Sorry to hear about the strife your going/gone through but as I am sure you are aware; in this life.... '**** happens!'

As you may be able to tell I'm not exactly the best person to turn to for advise (Dr Phil doesn't have to worry about me stealing his air time!) but the one thing I can say for sure is that in a few months time you'll have other things on your mind and all this wont even be a dot on the horizon! BUT your achievements in the gym will still be there!

Congrats on achieving your targets; keep it going the results look AWSOME

Well sort of anyway. Had a run of it last night again mostly couldn't keep my leg from "kicking" on it's own all day and it would come in waves. The dizziness made me lay down. I got back up and decided I would run back to the hospital and stay on their case until all my tests were read and I spoke to real doctor! I don't do sick well at ALL, I NEVER get sick!!!! So the entire situation has pretty well pissed me off. Having control issues ( ), I need to be in control of this!

I was in the hospital for a total of 4 hours. This is what I was told. Aside from the CAT which they can see a very small area ALL tests came back clear. (thank God). When the ran the blood work I did come up with some nutritional deficiencies, but that is a side factor not really related too much. I am not a risk factor in anyway shape or form. Although my sister had a stroke she was 300 lbs and had high Blood Pressure and High Cholestrol which she refused to control or take her meds. Other than that no stroke in the family, so it isn't genetic. I can tell you on any given day how many calories and the break down of those, I train every day include cardio and am not over weight, plus I'm young.

So ruling everything else out they asked if I had had any added stress ....hmmm let's see intense training for comp, I'm in my season and working horrible hours at work, and going through divorce, plus kids etc. So when asked how I handle stress, I was baffled. Not sure what they ment.... so I said I just deal with it. My DH was there and said "you mean the Ice Queen?" They seem to think I should be a screamer, cryer, something..... um no thank-you. I've seen people cry when upset or after someone dies or scream when they are angry etc. They look like they are miserable, I'm all for holding it in myself. I don't even raise my voice, as I see not point in the outcome, and have not shed a tear after the death of my son so many years ago. Which is why they think I simply "blew a gasket" at this point. So that's their best guess.

My plan of action is to get more structure in my day (everything, from cleaning, to work, to eating, training, sleep schedule), get some of the load off me at work. And tell the kids NO on occassion regarding the million and one activities they want to do. I have to address the nutritional deficiencies (low potassium and low iron...interesting since I already take an iron supp.) Oh, and men in general may have to be put on hold for some time to come.....I don't need even 1 more factor right now. They have me on Valium for a few days until I see my main doctor on Wed. It has helped stop the leg twitching, but I am not supposed to drive.

So in such a "like me" style I jumped on the treadmill today and took it easy. But I was able to fall into my trance which is like therapy for me. Not training has been hell for me. I NEED it.

Again thanks so much for all the well wishes and positive energy. Now I just need to heal, organize and move on.

God Bless,
Denise Nicole

Hello Denise! Hope you are getting some good rest in.
I am organizing my time better now, and getting to bed at a decent hour.

I dropped Robbie off to the airport shuttle today, so he's on his way back to England.

Yesterday:
30 min cardio interval training

Abs, lower back
Dumb bell Shoulder Press
Lateral Raises
Single Arm Tricep Push Downs
Seated Calf Raises
Standing Calf Raises
stretching

Weights were light, sets were 3 for now.

Glad to be back in the game :)

The Good: Feels good to be back
The Bad: I know it'll take time to build back up to where I was
The Ugly: Housework is a bit out of hand ....neglected. Aside from dishes general picking up and laundry, it all needs doing.

No, he has a contest to prep for so he's off to get ready. I am supposed to compete on the 28th. However, given the recent health issues, I am a bit fearful that maybe I should wait regarding the dehydration period I would have to pull off just prior. It may put me right back into some problems. I may wait for the Aug comp. Giving me more time to heal.

Due to my recent health scare, I've taken over my training so I can pace it out as I feel up to it. Robbie has been great and I truly appreciate all his help! Right now I need to go it alone as I heal.

July 12th -had a PM cardio session as well. Running can be awesome therapy for me .....I take my day out on the treadmill.

July 13th:
abs
cardio
bicep curls 15-8-8
Pull Overs 50
Pull Downs 15-8-8
Bent over Rows 12-8-8
Rear Delt -cable 20 (each arm)
Rope Low Cable Pulls
stretching

July 14th
abs
cardio -intervals on tread

July 15th
abs
cardio -intervals on tread

Today:
AM cardio -intervals on tread
abs

Shoulders and Tri's tonight woohoo!

I know I should be taking it a bit easy, but ended up working another 4 hours on Sat since the customers kept pouring in and I am not one to turn down money.

Went out to local marina bar that eve had fun. Same same all weekend, got to tour a few boats ....ummm....wow! Very nice. Never so much had to buy even one drink for myself, gotta love being female. And I beached it on Sunday (before going back to the marina bar).

OK fun is over, gotta buckle down with work and training, still debating the comp on the 28th. I'm thinking why the hell not. OK so I may not be 100% but I am weighing in at 113 now (at 5'5") my suits are in now and I don't think I will look out of place on stage. So why not get some experience? right?

OMG so much has happened it would take a book to get into!!!!!

Stalker husband came after me last eve. Anyway, I'll talk later but am doing the comp for my sanity!!!

Current stats:
height 5'5"
Chest 36
Waist 25
Hips 33
Weight 112

My abs are starting to pop the last thing to see. My suits are in, I still need to rush in another pair of shoes, some bikini bite and double sided tape (to keep suit from slipping on stage). Don't give a rats ass where I place but I am getting on the damn stage dammit!

I have a shoot 1 week after comp.

I'm in the middle of a divorce. He follows me around scares off the few dates I have had (wouldn't you run????). Last night was simply crazy!!!! But I have talked to him yet again. He promises to move on and leave me alone.

Sorry to hear that you are going through a divorce,

If you are asking me if I would run if I was dating you, um no HELL NO! I don't run from anybody!

In my opinion if someone loves you they will love you enough to let you go, because your happiness should come first.

If my wife wanted a divorce I would be heartbroken but her happiness is more important to me than mine.

In all honesty Denise, I'm a bit worried about you doing a comp in the mist of all happening. Especially since the last week of a contest prep is extremely demanding on the body and you've been having pretty serious health issues lately.

Why don't you take care of yourself first... the comp can wait but if you screw your metabolism, then you'll be in deep trouble and not just for a week.

Thanks for worrying! You are awesome :)

My metabolism is already screwed from childhood. Which is one of the reason any trainer I have had has been pulling their hair out at how slow it is and how fast I can go into deficiencies. In all honesty, I may not be 100% but think I could walk on stage tomorrow and not look out of place at all. So the dehydration will be the biggest factor in this whole thing.

Funny thing is last time I did the dehydration for a photo shoot, the water wouldn't drop!!!! I was actually carrying more water weight then when I started. So I'm wondering how that's even going to pan out.

QUESTION!!!!! I have NO support on this which means no one to do the tan for my back. How does one go about this alone????

Yep comp on the 28th and so far I have not changed my mind.

OK, some updates, I took a hard fall a few days ago and landed on the dumbbell stack. my tail bone took the biggest hit to getting up and down etc is way painful (this happened of course because I needed just one more thing to go wrong). However, I don't think it'll effect doing quarter turns for comp. But I did hold off on leg day since I am still in a lot of pain.

Doing cardio daily now and setting up for the last of the cut. On no weight days I do 30 minutes interval training in the AM and eve. On weight days, I do it in the eve since I take my day out on that treadmill and can "run it out". I need it for my sanity right now.

Super low carbs loading up on the vitamins. water, water, water and yes of course coffee. Haven't dropped the alcohol yet, but am doing rum and diet instead of beer now. At 112 lbs, not worried about weight.

Still not posting weights but will after comp. I'll be changing a few things up anyway.

Today:
Bicep Curls 15-8-8-6-4-30
Cable Pull Overs 50
Close Grip Pull Downs 15-8-8-6
Bent over rows 12-8-8
Rear Delt -(low cable) 30 each side
Low Cable Pulls 30
stretching

My camera battery was exhausted, but I'll post progress pics by tomorrow.

The Good: Training is helping me get my life back
The Bad: Not going into comp at 100%, but what the heck!
The Ugly: This divorce mess is just that ....way too much drama for me.

I'm in the middle of a divorce. He follows me around scares off the few dates I have had (wouldn't you run????). Last night was simply crazy!!!! But I have talked to him yet again. He promises to move on and leave me alone.

In his defense he is still in love.

Best wished to you SeaSiren. It must be a very difficult time.

I hope you have a great weekend.

She has a good man in you!

What about your childhood screwed up your metabolism?
I was allowed small bowl of cereal in the AM, 1/2 sandwich for lunch, sometimes I ate a small snack with it. Maybe 100-150 cals for dinner, and 2 snacks a day up to 3 cookies if I wanted. I played outside all day and could ride a horse before I could walk, so rode daily (hunter/jumpers) plus worked in the stable, so lived on very little calories. Unfortunately I never was able to turn that around, my body adapted. Good news.....low food bill! lol

Alright then...

If I may... here are a few tips with your posing... the back pose should enhance your lats, (we do not see them right now) so when you flex, lower your shoulders as though you want to push your boobs sideways (sorry but it's the best way to explain it) .

Also, when you do your side pose, try to push your rear shoulder a bit more in the front, what you want, is to create the illusion of an hourglass figure (large shoulders, tiny waist and larger legs)
See this picture, you'll see she's bringing her shoulder in the front

http://michaelandkendra.com/Kendra/Kendra0205/Galleries/2004Nationals/images/onepiece2.jpg

Also, when you do ANY back pose DO NOT bring a leg in front of you like you do in the last pose!! Keep them both together and turn your feet a bit outside, this way the judges will see your quads from behind. TRy lowering your torso just a bit, this way your tush will seem rounder.

And please... no more alcohol until the show!!! It's not about how much you weight... but you are definitely in need of muscle definition and you're wrecking it with the alcohol.

Hope it helps Denise... let us know how it goes

Good advice on posing from Josie. Only things I can add is that I see a lot of figure competitors holding their arms as if they have lats like Dorian Yates, it looks silly, especially if they have littlle there.. You want to emphasize your shoulder with and minimize your waist, not mimic a huge bodybuilder. Spread your scalpula, and pull outwards.. Tense your abs-even when doing a back shot. 'Sit' on your glutes and heels and tense then legs. Don't flex the delts in the front pose-only in the back one-it can make you look narrower. Start drinking a gallon of h20 a day til thurs, friday, cut to half a gallon- after 6 PM, cut the water to sips and ice only. Increase cardio by 15 min a day -now* stop all cardio thurs. Posing only thurs and Friday. Cut carbs to 50 a day or less starting tommorrow. Thurs, start carbing up. That's all for now. You can do it.

Hey Siren,

Good luck with your show!

I'd like to post this link for you which will show you exactly how to do your quarter turns, transitions, and the front relaxed pose.

Below is a video from one of Kendra's posing practices. ( it's a large file so it may take a couple minutes to download ) The video below is the way posing is done for Figure and Fitness in the NPC and IFBB. There are some small variations depending on the organization you are competing in. ( more on that below )

Click the link below to view the posing practice video:

http://michaelandkendra.com/Kendra/2007/Media/Video/Kendra_PosingPractice.wmv

Also, just a quick note about the pic below.
That pose is actually the "Front Relaxed" pose, not the "Side" pose.

Here's another view of it:
http://michaelandkendra.com/ACPRO/images/rl_twopiece1.jpg

The Front relaxed pose is the pose that you stand in when you first walk out on stage, and that you hit whenever the judge says "Relax". It's also the pose that you stand in when you are at the back or side of the stage during the callout rounds ( when you aren't in front doing quarter turns )

If you are competing in the NPC, you should NOT turn your body on the "Side" quarter turn pose and your hands should actually be at your sides. You should also look to the side of the stage, not toward the audience. ( See the video link above and the pic below for an example )

http://michaelandkendra.com/ACPRO/images/rl_twopiece3.jpg

In some other organizations, they want more of a turn on the side pose, so be sure to research exactly the way your orgazation wants you to pose.

Also, here are a couple pics of the front and rear poses also.

Front Facing Quarter Turn:
http://michaelandkendra.com/ACPRO/images/front7.jpg

Rear Facing Quarter Turn:
http://michaelandkendra.com/ACPRO/images/rl_twopiece4.jpg

The only major difference between most organizations in the Figure quarter turns is the side pose though. The others are basically the same regarless of your organization. Please use the video above as a guide to help you with your quarter turns and your transitions, and please let me know if you have any additional questions.

Good luck!

Michael

Actually, everything hit me suddenly hard and I felt like I was going to pass out all day. Got some food down me, loaded up on vitamins and just got up from a short nap. So feeling better. lol, no worries. Judging is subjective and I do it because it pushes my training and gives me more opportunities. Some of the judges had me first and even second. I think my posing suffered a bit on my first round (first impression) since I kept trying to fall out of my top (it needs to be taken in) so I was a bit self conscience. That being said I do agree with the critique..... I need to get my tan darker and bring my legs up.

Also keep in mind I was on muscle relaxants for the show given my health issues .....prob not the best for showing good form, rofl!

OK guys back to it break is over!!!! Got a comp in 4 weeks.

Today:
lower back extensions
crunches and leg lifts
Interval training on tread (30 min)

Posing...... Have to do T walks for the figure fitness round and "pose" at each stop Not sure what they want exactly anyone know? I'll prob call the promoter and see what I can find out.

So Stoked to get back on stage! I have so found something I love! :D

Comp on Sat Will be doing Figure Mediums, Figure Novice, Figure Masters, and Fitness Model.

OK, you are about to get full disclosure, yes I am very well aware that comp mode is not healthy, and you can knock us over on stage with a feather. Our big line after comp was "YAY! LET"S GO EAT!" People reading this want to know how it's done, just letting you know that I am very well aware of how "unhealthy" comp week is so no need to lecture me on it. Another factor is what works for me on comp week doesn't work for everyone, and a lot of us do the last week differently. Just depends on how you can get your body to respond to shedding off that last bit of fat and water (to see all the hard work on stage)

For the model division I have to submit a face and full body shot. Here is one I am leaning towards, although still needs "touching". Wish I had more time to do a shoot. Was supposed to do one last week, but was bruised to hell and couldn't (just yet one more bad chapter of my life, I'll get into the story later).

http://www.denisenicole.com/images/471e.jpg

OK full comp mode now, cut my fats in half, no added sodium to foods, no condiments. I bumped my cardio to daily last week even on lifting days (30 min daily). Cardo is bumped to an hour as of today! Starting to pump a bit more water.

I did 30min cardio and abs this AM, off to tan now. Already did nails and hair. Did not have time to get my 2-piece suit altered (having trouble with the top portion and trying not to give the front row a "show" when I do side pose).

This afternoon, lifting and this eve to other 30 min cardio, abs again.

Food so far:
black coffee (big surprise there, lol)
water
Protein shake with 1/2 tablespoon flax, green tea extract

So foggy, so I know I am officially in Ultra Blond mode.

Food so far:
coffee
Protein Shake w/ 1/2 Tablespoon Natty PB, green tea extract, an orange

OK, just realized I don't have anything that actually fits for the fitness model round. Have to submit two photos (think I have that covered) do a bikini round and a fitness wear round. ALL of my fitness wear is TOO big for me even the size XS's. So will be hunting online to find something to do it in.

ALSO, out of Tan, ummmm...... major problem, I still don't have HOW to do it down..... so ANY tips would be great!!! In fact almost all the judges from last show said I was not dark enough.

Still deciding on bikini, but since I keep getting the barbie comments, I have one that is hot pink (barbie pink) so may just play right into the image and use that one for bikin round.

lol, thank-you! Yes, I actually found out that whether I did or did not drink seemed to have no effect on gains or losses. Since I live in a resort, I'm around it all the time. So yes, rum and diet is generally my after workout (after protein shake) drink. I have a preference for Sailor Jerry's Rum to mix with the diet. But not all the bars carry it.

Oh same, same with coffee, no losses or gains by dumping it but I am worthless without my caffeine dose.

The whole loading up and water than cutting it out, didn't work for me either, I stayed bloated. Sodium however, does effect me, so I do not add any salt to my foods 1 week prior to comp or consume foods with high sodium including condiments.

Yeah, think I will be going with that shot, since I just don't have anymore time at this point.

Here is another from the same shoot, but I wll be going with a diff head shot:

Thank-you! Funny to me to see the old shoot since I am 15lbs lighter and more toned then I was when I did it.

Meals same as yesterday. Really feeling the effects of completing common tasks now.

Got my tan and fitness wear ordered and in route. Just got off tread, 30 min interval training. Got quite a glow going. Gonna hit the shower, then off to the gym to do abs, lower back, 30min steady elliptical and posing and T-walks when the aerobics room opens up at 6:30.

Then of course off to hit the outdoor bar for my after training Rum and Diet :D I'm cooped up inside all day so feel like at least I am getting outside even a little bit.

OK real quick since I need to jet!

Meals - same same

Leg Day and pushed it really hard so no cardio session today:
Seated Calf raises: wu 15, 8,8,8 failure
Standing Leg Curls wu 15, Drop set 8-8-10
Leg Extensions: wu 50, 8, 8, 6 failure
Squats: wu 15, 8, 8, 8 widowmaker set 0f 30
Dumb bell lunges 20lbs to failure
Inner & outer thigh standing using leg extension, both legs to failure
stretching

Off now to the gym (stayed and used mine today) need to get into the aerobics room to practice my routine. Had to mix my own music (90 sec) or I have to use the house music, and lord knows what that would have been. Went with the salt & peppa push it beat, with barbie girl as the main ...... hope that is fitting for what I am doing!

OK off to pose in my stage shows (I have to wonder what the other members are thinking when I walk out in those, )

Pic for today (a bit of a lighter note one), I was 15lbs heavier and not as toned as I am now but it was fun. :)

Oh man, you went and steamed up my glasses again!

Thanks! WO are getting more taxing on my body this week :(

Wow my body is ready taking a pounding this round! I could NOT do my 1 hour of cardio. I kept getting the shakes and my leg spasming (remember hospital stay before, that's how it started) also the muscles in my lower leg and foot lock totally. So I am still on muscle relaxants, not fond of taking them so always wait until my symptoms are heavy. I'm putting so much pressure on my body to hit comp right now that they are giving me grief.

OK anyway, 30 min interval training on tread. abs (upper and lower) went to gym to do another 30 on elliptical, but just felt awful. So went directly into aerobics room to posing routine. When I was done (about an hour later) I sat against the wall just trying not to pass out. So I guess I got my cardio in anyway..... the posing routines are work anyway.

Started to apply a coat of tan (mouse) last eve. This consists of standing totally nude for someone to put a coat of this stuff from top to bottom and you stand around another hour waiting for it to dry, checking to make sure you don't need to rub in any spots. (this is where if any other BBer's have a better way they should pipe in here)

Tonight cardio (if I can handle it): Back and Biceps.

My prints which are REQUIRED for the fitness model round won't be here in time, so I was luck enough to find a place to do it today.

My suit which I did not have time to alter, I am altering myself ..... heaven help us all as I am not the best seamstress.

Photo for today:
http://www.denisenicole.com/050_editedthe.jpg

The Good: Excited to Leave for show
The Bad: Still altering suits and need prints
The Ugly: My own body is fighting this last week, and not co-operating

Pretty photos, Denise!

You know I was told to keep doing cardio the last week before my second contest, but I just didn't. I was dropping water, on lower calories for me -- around 1,500/at 9% body fat, still lifting heavy, etc. and I was beat & getting dizzy. I just didn't think it was safe to be taking in less water, lowering carbs & doing cardio so I made an executive decision after I almost fainted off the stairmaster. Everything still turned out fine sans cardio.

I had three weeks between my first and second contests. I'm not sure what the gap is for you.

The protan is fun, huh? :p

Hey guys! Back and EXHAUSTED! As always had a wonderful time. Love the stage and BBing community! New photo album up from last comp. Got trophies in every division. Still have runway model legs, so hurt me for the comp. But scored perfect in photo end of it for (model).... That means I achieved the highest scores for my photos but my legs hurt me for part 2 and 3 of the scoring. Results, 3rd figure model, 4th masters, 5th open! Very very happy ...... the legs will come in time, it takes months even up to a year to bring them up but I'll still compete every month knowing that! I'm getting experience and LOVE being on stage!!!!!

xx,

I wouldn't give up on figure totally, there's a lot of industry and mag coverage in that- that's what's hot right now. You don't mass- none of them are massive lol, we just need to put you on a heavier leg routine- and maybe being out the c shape more. To me though you look awesome! Nice going!

Hi sexy! Congrats! I'm glad to see you so happy! Especiallly after overcoming adversity. I wouldn't give up on figure totally, there's a lot of industry and mag coverage in that- that's what's hot right now. You don't mass- none of them are massive lol, we just need to put you on a heavier leg routine- and maybe being out the c shape more. To me though you look awesome! Nice going!

Hi Denise! I, of course, think you look fantastic. I don't think Josie meant you need to be massive -- LOL -- she simply meant for figure it wouldn't hurt for you to have a bit more lean mass. I felt too thin at 5'4" and 114lbs/8.8% body fat for my figure competitions. It depends on the person, but I agree with her that for figure at your height you would probably look fantastic at around 120 to 125lbs (and the addition being lean mass, of course).

Anyway, just as you said the legs will come in time. I'm envious of your slender legs :D and, if you're naturally lean there, it will take some hard work (heavy lifting) and more calories (yum) to get them a bit bigger but it can be done. A good friend of mine had pretty slender legs like yours, but she was able to add some size to them and, in fact, ended up successfully competing in body building.

Oh no worries! I'm not nor ever will give up on figure. I know I have runway legs. My routine is fierce but prob stagnant so will change it up again. Putting weight on is OK if it's muscle. But I won't put on fat, I carry it my gut (5 kids) so every lb goes there first and my legs would still look the same, lol

I do this because it pushes my training AND I get modeling deals out of it after every comp (comps COST money, modeling PAYS money). So even if I don't win (nor will I until my legs put on more muscle). You can bet your butt I'll be on the stage a lot. And I have learned SOMETHING every show!

FYI - landed a bikini calendar after this one :D

OK been "re feeding" everyday since show, my weight won't budge, still at 108-109. Have not pushed a weight for fear of tearing down muscle and it going away. But I can't not lift for so long. So will be working out today, but no cardio until the weekend (freediving off shore here if the weather co-operates). My eldest daughter's B-Day today, so taking here out for Mexican (rest. of her choice). So I'll eat a meal from there, then back on track.

Was supposed to do the Pitts show in 2 weeks but looks like husband #2 may be leaving before then for MS or TX so I may not have a sitter lined up and the girls have school.

Tricep Rope Push Downs Warm-up 12x50x1, 6x52.5x3

New leg routine in place and it is pretty intense (there may be a pun there, thanks baby, great talking to you :) ), so well see how I make out with it. Pushing leg day to Friday's, Sat & Sun become totally recover days, will eat clean those days but no w/o (unless I go freediving or kayaking this weekend).

Have decided to pass on the next show and hit the one at the end of the month. Girl's start school on Tuesday, and if I have to diet for comp I'll be out of it and temper mental a few days for their first couple weeks of school. They need my full "brain" during this time. 1 of my girls is transferring from the other county (since the incident). And the other 2 are transitioning from being home schooled. All girls have been active in the community events, sports, neighbor kid's etc. So they know kid's there, just a big change.

Trying to keep myself out of trouble :D 'tis very hard ya know, lol

Daughter's B-Day dinner was great I love spending time with her  ..... my baby's growing up :(

The Good: I have a plan!
The Bad: Still recovering from last comp (putting back on weight)
The Ugly: Starting to get a bit worried regarding the financial aspect of having no help raising the children .... I have no family to fall back on ... I have been homeless and hungry before. By God the will never happen again. So praying to whomever that my business continues to be profitable.

Glad you enjoyed the b-day dinner. They do grow up fast.

Happy Wednesday!!

Thank-you! It was fun.

Lets get this sucker caught up!
August 30th:
Yesterday:
20 min cardio, interval training on incline tread. Felt like I needed a cardio, but kept it down to 20 min. Weight is finally starting to recover this round. Weighed in at 110 this AM.

Back and Biceps this afternoon after work.

Actually went out last eve (only for a couple hours) with a Gentleman I had seen a couple of times. Not generally what I go for, but that was kind of the point since I can't seem to get it right. This one was nice, a gentleman, a bit shy, financially stable and we are the same age (in around). So I went out with "Mr. Nice Guy" in stead of the type "A"'s who have been giving me grief. And I'm afraid we just aren't hitting it off well. He's sweet, but is also very honest. He's seeing a couple of ladies. They may not have the looks, but I have the divorces and children (baggage) and he said as much about "coming from 2 diff places". I understand where his coming from, re his point of view, just a shame that I am getting penalized for my past. Anyway, then he starts to come on to me ..... not real strong, but I was think yeah right buddy. You just tell me we're coming from 2 diff worlds and you want what??? So much for the not my type either!

Have another one (someone else) on Sunday, during the day in public. Deck party. Am driving myself over, so I have a quick out. This one is a couple years older than I, financially secure, AND has a child ..... sole guardianship! That says something right there ..... oh and he's a bodybuilder, so totally knows about the kid's first, job second (pays the bills) training third ..... the rest is gravy.

The Good: I still hanging on
The Bad: Last Eve was disappointing
The Ugly: I'm still hanging on which mean, I'm waiting for "the next thing" to come at me

August 31st:
Dumb bell bicep curls: 15x15, 8x 15 x3
Dumb bell pull overs (on bench) 15 x 50
Wide Grip Lat Pull Downs 15 x 40, 8 x 50 x 3
Bent Over Rows 15 x 40, 60 x8 x 2
Cable Pulls (rear delts) 30 x 30 each side
Seated Rows 30 x 40
stretching

Posing Practice.

Rethinking the next show. Girls Dad said he would be more than happy to stay the full weekend here with them. That's the last week he'll be here he's moving permanently. He would spend some final quiet time with them since he won't be focused on me (I'd be away for comp.)

Smoke filled my house this morning , yep washing machine motor burnt up! Yet one more thing because God still hates me.....

The Good: I woke up again this morning
The Bad: washer went up
The Ugly: My house is wrecked since I am not here much the girls have just gone wild. So they will spend their entire day cleaning while I try to get a repair guy out on this weekend holiday (yeah , that'll happen).

Yesterday:
Busy Day set up for today. Had a rough one yesterday, the whole dizzy numbness thing was back and I had a tough time just walking etc. Luckily it went away. Stress has a bit to do with it I am sure. My son is taking the divorce badly and when I was trying to run around and clean and give direction to the girls on what they needed to do "chore wise" since all the repairmen were coming for various things (the house was a mess from my ex moving out and my daughter moving in, plus leaving and returning from comps and not being home much). He promptly unloaded on me curse words and all. Which got him a very calm "get out of this house, that conduct won't be tolerated here, you do not speak to me that way". So after a more than usual stressful morning of preparing the house plus all the smoke from the washer then him coming at me. My "thing" had kicked in full blown by the time I hit work.

Anyway, was better but weak by days end to pushed that new intense leg day to today. So as soon as I get enough coffee in me, 20 min cardio, than off to nail salon, tanning, clothes shopping for daughters for school (Just spend $450 on school supplies, that is insane!). Then that intense leg day with a few other errands thrown in, and have to at some point stop by the retail center, to bring one of my people up to date.

Gotta love my "days off". Get to go to that deck party tomorrow with "new guy". Like I said I am driving myself so I can leave if he is just terrible. "old Guy" keeps sending me friendly texts. It's interesting that he is, I'm being a bit vague to him. Perhaps he's still trying to "get his head around" my past. Either way I would consider (not sure would have to think about it more) seeing him again, but he should not expect anything but company, lol

Have a great weekend Everyone! It's a holiday weekend here, so traffic will be a bear!

Finally!!! Today:

Made it to the gym in time for leg day. Have to do it the gym since my new routine incorporates super sets on some of the machines. Most of the exercises are til failure. I barely walked out and am feeling it today! About darn near time!

Now for those of you following the saga which I call my life. Guy #2 (supposed to go to deck party today with). Texts me out of the blue yesterday ... "I miss you too" ..... ah hello? So I text him back "I don't think that was intended for me" Several seconds later "oh, it was a joke". Yeah right. Somebody is a player and just told one of the women he is playing that he misses her, which indicates that she is emotionally attached. I think NOT! Anyway I cancelled, he is NOT happy about it. I don't think anyone has dared cancelled on Mr Player before.

Cardio today as soon as I get motivated .... it will be 20 min on tread intervals. (and my legs are screaming, lol)

Denise hang in there. Sorry you're going trough so much muck right now and having to deal with trolls. Your great looks will always bring out a few trolls but there a some good guys out there too. Just take care of yourself and your kids. First things first--people first: things second. On the plus side it seems the modeling thing is helping to bring in a few extra dollars. Hopefully more than what it cost to prep and do your comps.

I'm impressed by your DB Pull-overs by the way--nicely done.

Last night:
Ok it goes on .... The Player is still stunned and has texted me a few times today .... trying to get out of the whole thing. I think his ego just took a hit .... poor baby.

Guy #1 who made the stupid statement has been contacting me all week. We had a conversation about it and he says that that wasn't it at all! The yes, it's hard to totally understand but he felt like I was not looking for a permanent relationship. In other words if we continue to date he wants to date exclusively (at least I think that is what he meant, it was all so confusing). Which is a mis-understanding on his part since If I go out with him several times and we enjoy each others company, I'm OK with the exclusive thing, because at that point you get really "involved" and you are much better off with one partner, who you enjoy spending time with. So had two more offers today, one from Guy #1 to go out on the boat and watch the sunset and one from a new one, I had been speaking with for sometime for dinner ..... after much debate, I'm gonna give guy #1 another chance. After the "player" incident perhaps it's refreshing to know I've got one getting attached. :)

So .... off to watch the sunset. Let's hope I do not get sick! Did I mention I suffer from vertigo???

If I do and he holds my hair .... he is SO in! rofl Any guy who would offer to hold your hair back when your sick is OK in my book (yes, I have a wicked and warped sense of humour!).

Today:
Evening went well which actually surprises me given my tendency to find trouble.

The sunset was gorgeous and I had no problems on the boat! Funny all I could think about was jumping IN that water. I wanted to be in it so badly. Perhaps I am finally over the vertigo and motion sickness thing. My body seems to go in cycles constantly on allergies and such. Perhaps the way I am training and dieting is agreeing with getting out on the water again ...... wouldn't that be

Guy #1 is very "odd" but in a charming way. Quite witty with an odd sense of humor. Not the norm at all, quite enjoyable. Had several rum and Diets, so did not drive home. But at the point I had another I already knew I was staying or would not have done so..... get this for odd again, he slept in a separate room. He was up early.... a morning person ..... and one of those cheery morning people too, which I am NOT, so I was up and home early. Last night out I suppose for a long long time. My ex is moving to TX and that was the last weekend (well 1/2 a day and one night) he spent with the girls.

Shoulders and Triceps later today. It's a Holiday here and I wanted to beach it, but looks like I have one daughter who isn't feeling well so will prob stay home. Will grill tonight though and fit in a grocery run. Have one starting school tomorrow ..... which means I have to actually get up early  The other 2 still trying to get registered. But the schools don't make it easy. So I'll be adjusting to new sleep patterns for the next few weeks, oh joy!

Thank you on all counts! I am ALWAYS going through muck ..... Apparently I pissed god off at some point. It amazes me since I don't yell, cry, never gossip or speak ill of others (I already have karma issues) and everytime something happens, I go over the event in my mind to find out how it happened (what I could have done to prevent it) and finally how to address it. And that's all I can do ....... take it as it comes and do as much as I possibly can.

The guys I date have to know Kid's First, Job second (pays the bills), training third. That makes my dating 4th ..... if I could find a "good guy" that "gets it" that would be nice. But not sure he exists, lol

Morning, Denise.

Happy Labor Day!! :)
Thank-you! You too!

Now we can't have a great night like that and then not have an incident now can we? God must of been napping for my evening, but he woke up this morning and came after me again. Came home to youngest not feeling well stomach ache and slight fever ..... this of course since school starts tomorrow. So I figured oh well there goes my last beach day. Anyway decided to take a short nap and plan to stay in..... now we can't have that can we. Phone rings my son had a bad fall at the skate park so off to the hospital we go! I took a peak at it and said "nah torn ligament" (I've seen enough of them). Sure enough x-rays came out clean he tore the ligament gets a wrap, crutches and drugs.

By now daughter is feeling better so we decide to beach it for the day after all. Getting ready to grill, but I am totally wiped for WO so thinking of pushing it back to tomorrow. Where I only have daughter's first day of school, other daughters registration, work after a 3-day holiday, and a B-Day Party the girls have to be at by 5PM ..... see much easier day. :D

After reading my own post I realized there is too much room for stuff to go wrong tomorrow to lift. So going my philosophy of any wo is better then none. I did not motivate to actual get changed but did my routine anyway (while food was grilling and cooking):
Abs
Crunches (slight movements)100-30-30
Bench Leg raises 30-20-20

Lower Back
Lower Back Ext (slight movements) 30-30-30

Shoulders
Seated Dumbbell Press Warm-up 12x12x1, 6x15x3 (lighter than last week. But I was really tired. No way I could pull off the 20lbs today).
Lateral Raises 10x15x2

Triceps
Skull Crushers Warm-up 12x15, 6x35x3
Tricep Rope Push Downs Warm-up 12x50x1, 6x52.5x3

OK here you go, tired, wind blown, sandy and tanning oil .... threw a skirt on for modesty's sake (since we all know how modest I am):

And it continues ..... Large sums of money missing from business and bills that MUST be paid. I was so bad off yesterday after reviewing the books that there was no wo. I put in overtime at work, still trying to get caught up. Will have to take a second job until I am caught up. So what does someone who needs fast cash do legally? .... yeah you prob have it figured out. But I see no choice at this time.

So youngest daughters first day of school goes well. She is way above the class academically so I think she will thrive. FINALLY got daughter #2 registered yesterday. Ran back to work finished what I could ran kids home for neighbors B-Day Party. Came back to work, went home reviewed her homework, prepared daughter #2 for school next day. And eventually fell into bed.

Today FINALLY registered daughter #3 in the high school. She's fine but I get a call from daughter #2 in hysteria, come pick me up!!!! Guidance asked me to come in. So I told them I would as soon as I was finished with daughter #3. Apparently it was all I could take (remember I don't get nervous or cry. mad etc.) and I began another episode, hands stopped working side started to numb speech started to slurr.... I got my meds (took a double dose actually) in me as quickly as possible but was thinking this is great they are going to haul me off in an ambulance from the school ...... poor daughter #3. I took about an hour but subsided.

Anyway we could NOT get her calmed down and ended up bringing her home. Although some of it was academic (she is behind) most of it was social anxiety. She has always been in Cheer leading, soccer, residential kid's bashes etc. I don't get it! She has the option to move down a grade (which I tried to get her to do originally) because she has a late birthday and would fit in just fine. She's also small for her age, so there would never be a question from the kid's. Anyway, just have to figure it all out.

Anyway def. cancelling the comp this weekend, way too much going on and now I'll have to work anyway.

Going to try to get to wo today back and biceps. (I missed cardio yesterday .... but since no comp. it's no biggie, I am prob. underweight right now anyway).
