When it comes to the fats in a keto diet, are we talking about both saturated and unsaturated? I've been eating clean meats, but just with flax oil, and peanut butter, and other good fats. Does it matter what kind of fats I eat?

You can eat unlean fats too on a keto diet. So you can eat sausages and ground beef. Just make sure that you stay within your daily calorie limit. Eating lots of unclean fats will not clog your arteries when on a keto diet.

its because the fats will be burned.

this is one thing I still struggle with on keto. When we say the fat is burned, what does that mean? Is it that it gets turned to ketones?

Why does a normal carb diet with high fat affect the blood (hence possibly clogging of arteries) whilst a keto diet doesn't. I haven't had my blood check in a while but apparently most people on keto increase HDL and decrease LDL.

And what is so good about HDL, does it affect LDL in some way???

I just started on keto and I am eating cleand and unclean fats, roughly in a 50/50 ratio.I just can't imagine that taking in only or the overwhelming majority of your fat (especially on keto when fat is the staple of the diet)from saturated sources can be truly good for your heart in the long run.

Simple equation to remember for those on KETO. Fat+carbs=fat.
