Hey guys. I'm new here. I've been working out for a long time but got really into it in college. Just coming here to hopefully get some great advice when I have questions! I live in CA, I lift weights 4 days a week but workout 5-6 days a week. I've never been a runner but I'm training for a 10k and hopefully will be able to run the Marine Corps Marathon this October.

Welcome aboard. I can't help you on running a marathon but I am sure others here can. Best of luck to you.

Do you know if anyone here actually runs and lifts weights also? I always find people usually do one or the other and I am having a hard time deciding when to fit in my leg day with my running schedule!

Yes there are quite a few here. look in the journal section. I cant for the life of me remember who does them but I know we have some ladies here that do or have done them.

I run and lift weights but I am trying to roll my running back because my gains have been less than they could be if I stood still. I am an ectomorph so I am a hard gainer when it comes to increasing my size and my muscles. And there is quite a distance in the length of my limbs. I am 5 foot 10. It is harder to make things look muscular.
Sooo, if you want some serious muscle, running marathons won't help if you are like me.
And if your real interest is running with a little toning, keep making your running logs and do what you love. Along with some upper body toning, that will make you look and feel stronger.
All the best!
