View Full Version : Power Snatches
I just started doing them, their not that hard to do at all!First I loaded up 40lbs. on the bar and did them{it felt like I pulled something in my upper right back}but then I did them again and I could do them, but it wasnt explosive enough. So,I lowered the weight on the bar to 20lbs. and did them,it felt kinda good{altought i'm still not sure if I did them explosively enough}.My question is,is the whole entire lift{from beginning to end}supposed to be done explosively? And how can explosiveness be defined really, how fast are you supposed to go?Are you supposed to go as fast as you can with the weight you have?
Speed is crucial. Just go as fast as you can.
You'll probably need a good coach to teach you the O-lifts properly.

to learn the OL correctly you really need a coach. try to find one as soon as possible. for athletes, there is no substitute for the quick lifts. the sooner you start the better off you will be.
best of luck to you!
