Alright, i at least tried the first day of the routine, and it sucked. I only got up to the first 220x3 deadlift set, and it sucked very bad. Hell pulling 275 felt bad. It was because my back was stiff and inflexible. My back held me back right now.



And i usually train in the afternoon now.

So what im gonna do is tonight maybe 7pm i will give it another go. 275 should be pussy weight, belted, raw, morning, night, but i dont know what happened. Back just didnt feel up to it. It doesnt.didnt hurt, it was just tight. And here's some proof. I rackpulled 225 to get it off the pins(8" off ground), and at first it went up really really slow. Definately was my back which held me back. I will Give it another go later. If it feels bad again, then ill try again tomorrow, and do a Sunday/Tuesday/Friday split (Sunday DL/Tuesday ME Bench/ Thursday DE Bench).




Alright im out. And btw, knees are feelin awesome for a while. Thats a good sign.

--Coan/Phillipi Deadlift Routine Workout 1
--November 22nd 2003

Deadlift

275x2 *did this 2 times today. 2 reps before 2, and 2 reps after 3.

*this felt REALLY bad, way too hard for this weight. I dont know what happened, maybe my new belt at maximum tightness helped. I did these one notch away from last hole because it was way too hard to get it in by myself. But my back felt unsure today, like inflexible....i mean at one point i couldnt even pull 275 fully raw! My back usually ends up rounding if i pull raw conventional style. Whats wrong here?

Assistance Deadlifts
8x225x3

*first sets felt weird, but by the end i was pulling 225 like i was pullin 195x5 on 3x3.

Sumo Deadlifts

2x200x8 *felt very easy
1x200x6 *stopped short

[/u][/b]Barbell Rows[/u][/b]
135x8 *felt fine, but hard since i didnt do these in a while
125x8
115x8

Underhand Lat Pulldowns

120x8 *unsure about distance i pulled it down..but easy
2x100x8

Hyper Extensions

Deadluifts were way harder than they were supposed to be. Much too hard. The second time i did 275x2 was better than the first, but only because i did bike sprints immediately before i guess. Today felt very bad, and good. Maybe 12 hours of sleep stiffens my back up. Gah whatever. I loved the assistance part. This is a real tough routine. Next Saturday, i have to pull 295x2. I am not 100% sure on how that will go, but what i do know is that i will have my belt tightened to the last hole. But what really is worrying is that i have to pull 315x2 week after that and 330x2 after that week! Maybe those weeks will go better. We'll see.


Only 9 workouts left. **** it i know i can do this. I WILL pull 365 when this is over! :mad:

Light DL 8x3 (6x3 and 5x3 depending
Sumo DL 3x8
Barbell Rows 3x8
Abs varied


Will change rep scheme as according to plan

I'm lookin for about 365, if all goes well. If this saturday goes as planned, 295x2 SHOULD be kinda hard but not hard. If it turns out 295 kills me, ill be damned.


I really don't know why i put it on a saturday really. For example, most of my real workouts are after school, and my sleep is usually ****ed on week days with school, but i didnt take into consideration the time i train. We;'ll just have to see how it turns out. Hell, maybe my 12 hr sleep/ stiff back/ long hot bath/ bishop beatin/hour and half after wakin up combo ruined my workout kinda lol.



I'm not feelin my strongest now, but ill give ME Bench a try. Kinda sleepy. We;ll see whats up. Floor press!

I'm so happy that i finally broke the god damn 45/35 barrier on floor press. I can't believe i got a 10lb PR. I know my bench max now is probably between 205-210 possibly. Rest of workotu sucked. I have a headache now and im very tired. I'm gettin my homework done then sleepin.


Yesterday really wore me out. 7 hours of sleep(12am to 7am{thought it was 12pm lol}), carrying computer parts back to room, cleaning up with heavy chemicals and rearranging a little, 45 minutes at haircut place, spending about 30 minutes getting jeans, and then later at night spilling bleach on one totally ****ing it up, and getting a little on my other pair, ****in boring bad weather(kinda cold but kinda not, weird to explain, but the weather and sun lightness ****ing bothered me so ****ing much. pissed me off. i thought to myself at one point of the day "goddamnit its only 2pm, i have another 7-8 ****in hours to stay up, and im feelin like **** and theres ****in nothing to do!"



I might be sick now, hopefully not. But it just goes to show you. Even if your sleepy and tired, you can still hit some nice PRs.

And btw, i figured out that one notch away from last hole and actually having the prongs in the last holes is a HUGE difference in tightness level, and maybe that affected my deadlift on sat, besides other factors i posted at bb.com journal

Thanks man! Felt ok today even with under 7 hrs sleep, lookin forward to more rest tomorrow, then DE Bench thursday. Saturday is the day i test my courage again with 295.

Great floor press! Looks like you passed me on that too (for now....) The way I look at it, as long as you set a PR, its a good workout.

Oh and BTW don't get too comfortable with that 335 deadlift of yours, cause today 235 felt like a feather to me :) And it was sumo too...

Come saturday be confident with your abilities. If there are doubts in your mind, the weight will feel a helluva lot heavier than it really is. You and I both know you can do it. Consider the lift already done.

Congrats on that PR!!!!!!!!!! 210 no doubt, just think in like another 3 months youll possibley be benching like 225-230! Just work your ass off and your deadlift will come aswell. Cant wait to see some sweet ass progress!

dont worry too much about the deadlift, sometimes its just that way, i remember pulling 275 as a warmup once and it stalled soooooooo bad..........and the week before i pulled 320 sumo lol wtf?!..........great work on the 210 floor press, it'll probably be a while, but i gotta give those a try sometime :)

Great workout. Felt very strong. Didnt get to do ab work yet, but i will. Everything but the 245x3 lockout felt very easy. Today in general was just a very bad day though. It ****nig sucked. You guys just wouldnt realize how many things went wrong. Everything has been starting since monday, everything pissing me off. I'm trying to hold it inside, but its getting very hard. You just don't realize how hard it is for me to keep storing all these bad moments and memories up and up. I'm just gonna burst soon........

Well today sucked. Here's the outline. 6pm yesterday go to friends house. Play PS2 until 2am. Chill at neighbors for 30min on comp, go back to house and play game until 4:30am, then watched tv/went on comp for hour, then slept until 12 noon. And i caught a throat disease from him. And my jaw muscles/ears hurt.



Tomorrow better go good. I feel so weird right now :(

Workout was actually under an hour i think. This was an awesome workout. Nothing was too hard actually. I felt MUCH stronger today than last week. And im also feeling a lot better than yesterday. And for the hell of it, i did a one hand deadlift with 135 and i did a 2 finger each side deadlift with 135. I can do more on both no doubt. Everything is feeling pretty good. Just slightly sick feeling, but im all good. Looking for a 215-220 floor press on monday. 315x2 on deadluft next saturday too! If i get it, ill be so happy! Then on to 330x2 maybe!

The routine does look pretty good. I just hope being a little sick doesnt affect me too much.

Deads look great.

Don't worry about the cold. Just pop a cough drop before you lift. That usually helps my throat during a session when I'm sick.

Thanks guys. I'm not maxing anytime soon. I have a hernia. I will have surgery to remove it within a month most likely.

And knees are fine mostly. I will at most only do light stuff for upperbody. I dont understand why this happened. Theres a whole and my bowels bein pushed thru and pokin the skin so yeah.


I'm out. When this hernias gone, within a week of surgery i will hpoefully be able to resume my training from where i left off.

Recovery time's usually a lot longer than a week. A guy at work was out for about four weeks after surgery. Then it ripped open before he even got through the door when he tried to return.

I believe 4-6 weeks is typical...and this is not something to mess with by trying to come back too early. Just take the time off, relax, catch up on homework, get your Christmass shopping done. The weights and the PRs will be waiting for you when you get back.

Good luck...everything will work out in the long run.

Just listen to the doctor on this one...might be good to wait an extra week or two on top of that, but take it easy when you hit the weights again.

Staying raw or lifting equiped is up to you, but it probably wouldn't have made much of a difference in this case. When you come back, just do a lot of core work and get those abs stronger. Hopefully you won't have to deal with another one.

Good luck with the surgery and recovery. You'll be hitting PRs in no time.

im really sorry about that hernia, and i know how it feels to have things taken away from you.

my ear is swollen to hell and theres water trapped inside or some **** i tried getting it out with a q-tip and all i got was a lot of blood.:(

its been bothering the hell out of me, it woke me up last night and i couldnt get back to sleep for two hours almost, it hurt so bad, as i type this i can barely hear anything out of that ear. :(

stress has also ****ing skyrocketed here, the swimming that was helping me i wont be able to do for a while cause of my ****ing ear. when will we ever get a ****ing break?

Amateur- yeah man i know. i cant believe that these things are happening to us. good luck with the ear man. when did it start to be like that??


And wow. my sleep was so ****ed up. i took melatonin with herbs, and combine that with sickness, and you get sleep exhaustion. i swear to go i fell asleep at 10:30, and woke up so many times. When i woke up last time before falling asleep again, it seriously felt like i slept for 24 hours! And no thats not a good thing. i also barely had the strength to push myself out of bed when i needed a drink. i was just lying there on my stomach tryin to push but my mind told me not to, it was too hard. so anyways i shoulda been in school hal;f an hour ago. i might go in an hour, or i might skip. this sickness might be like the 13 day one i had in 7th grade. i feel like total ****. yesterday wen i did a tip toe squat, i could barely get up! This is how weakened i am due to this sickness. my throat hurts, my mind hurts, im hot, im so weak and tired, and to top it off, i need surgery. i hope i feel better soon. i got a game yesterday just to try to lighten the mood and actually have something to look forward to in my life. i have nothing else as of right now. sickness and hernia is preventin me from actually doing anything.




i know im going on too much, but im getting all drugged up. i never take medicine really unless its necessary, and ive been sick since last saturday, only started takin meds yesterday. it was getting better, but somehow it got worse. and i dont like it.



good luck amateur. i really hope we can get better again soon and kick ass. but about the swimming, maybe you could wear ear plugs? You know, those ear plugs used to keep water out. that might just help you.

The New Plan: A New Hope


Well, with sickness and my hernia, things weren't looking up. But however, my sickness has passed a lot and im starting to think. My body needs time off of lifting, its really been abused in the past. I even asked myself one day why i lift if all it does is give me pain. Well ive decided, for some time i will refrain from lifting, maybe until February or later. I have to anyways, because of my hernia, which i have to wait 4-6 weeks after surgery to get better. This time frame will probably ensure some knee recovery, which is my secondary injury. I will be doing grip training, however, while off of lifting. I am about 1/4- 1/2 inch off closing it with both hands. I can close the trainer about 10 times my right hand and 8 times my left hand.


Grip training will be my only real training now.

You doubt why you lift now, but by Feb, you'll be dying to get back. At least with that much time off, you may experience newbie gains all over again when you're back.

in the meantime, enjoy gripwork...it is fun, isn't it;)

Big poppa- Thanks a lot man. i've got a whole routine to think of now with pinching too lol. The grippers are so addicting, that i try closing the trainer and number 1 every day i come home from school, but the instructions say treat it as a max deadlift :( hahaha

John-Yeah, i guess i really just like lifting because its what im best at. It feels good not being big but being one of the strongest kids in your school. And yeah grip training is fun hahaha. :D


So anyways, I'm nearly over my sickness and feeling good. I can kind of talk again. I just slept for like 4 hours and i didnt even know it!

Lol a story about lunch today involving grip. This kid reaches into my tray to take a fry, so i catch his hand and squeeze it hard like tryin to close the number one and he drops that ****er down. Then i give him the fry :D


And im getting really pissed off that i cant hub cap pinch lift a 10lb plate, or even a 5lb plate! Hell 2 1/2 is too small too even try no matter the weight. But i guess 5 is too small too. This can be a good grip exercise however. Props to the guy that can do a 35lb plate or more! :eek:

ill jsut randomly pick it up

need to insert it into my routine actually hehe

hopefully my roomies' bringin his weights down so I can try hub pinching

both my gym and the co-rec have newer style w/o it

Damn, the number two is nearly 200lbs, yeah i remember you tellnig me about that i think. That'd be AWESOME to be able to close the number two.

About the hub lifting, its a lot harder than it seems. If you cant hold on to the lighter plates(i doubt that though, your grip is a lot better than mine), maybe get a 45lb plate size hub cap attacthement to put on to the plate that you cant lift. itll make the pinching easier.



Oh and i forgot to mention. I've lost quite a bit of weight. I've really been like 144lbs lately. Now im down to about 138. I weigh 140 as of right now at night.

yeah, my pinch grip is nowhere near as good as my other grips..I can vertical barlift over 200, but pinch grip like 30-50 kills me

but youll have a grip like mine in no time bro

Yeah man, strongman is more related to real life where grip is a very important factor and you've developed it nicely. And i havent worked grip like ever lol. Only grip work was supporting grip. I've done plate pinch and weak gripper work before though.


And bump on the pinch grip. i can only hold like one 25 in each hand pinch style.


I'll be better soon :) Unless i can catch my brothers and parents sickness that they just got recently. Eoither its from me, or they got somethin else, because its different from my symtoms. I think my brother has the flu, and i wouldnt want to catch that. He missed his 3rd day of school in a row today.

Pinch grip is pretty much picking up a weight plate by only using the front tips of your fingers, either by lifting by the hub cap of the plate or by its width. Thats kind of a description lol.

yeah, grip training is catching on :) mine will grow again..if I do the Illinois Recordbreakers again, which is exactly ONE WEEK after nationals(lol, might not be able to walk right yet) ill still be lightweight...our farmers walk is 250/hand for distance
heavyweight is 280 i think

pinch grip is like taking 2 45's, put em smooth side out, pinch itby putting fingers straight and lifting
basically imagine your mouse, twice as thick



theyre about as thick as a clenched fist is wide, if not thicker

Work on your grip :) Remember, ALL 5 DIGITS ARE ON THE OBJECT! (plate)

Hub cap pinch grip is picking up the weight plate pinch grip style but by the hub cap(the part that sticks up when the plate is lying down face up)

Set one: R-8 seconds///L-11 seconds (This set is so bad)
Set two: R-11 seconds///L-10 seconds (I forget the times...)

30lb(25&5lb) trials:

R-6 seconds *New PR by weight!
L-3 seconds *New PR by weight!

10lb plate trials:

R-30 seconds
L-30 seconds

Captain of Crush Trainer Trials

R-15 times closed or so *PR!!
L-10 times closed or so *PR!!

R-Held it for some seconds closed all the way
L-Held it for some seconds closed all the way

Captain of Crush #1 Trials[/b]

R-Held it closed almost all the way for 5-10 seconds
L-held it closed almost all the way for 4-10 seconds

Awesome workout! My grip has gotten stronger since months ago im sure! I WILL get that number one closed soon! And i WILL pinch grip a 35lb plate soon! I had a little bit of ointment on my right hand yetserday so it held me back a bit. After the workout i took a bath, fell asleep at 4:30pm, and had a long sleep with a few wake ups until 7:00am. Over 14 hours of sleep felt nice. :)

Note--just closed the trainer about 15 times left hand and about 20 right hand!!

Though, ive gotta mention this. The way i rep them, they dont get all the way closed, but are like nearly there(1/8 inch). Its because i close them with my fingers touching my hand on the other handle which gets in my way, unless i intentionally try to close the gripper. So my repping might not be totally accurate, but theyre all VERY close to being closed. If i took more time on each rep, i could close them all the way. But at least the point is i advanced to 15 left and 20 right!


Now the numbers sound more accurate, since im over half way to closin number one with left, and pretty close with right hand. I'm getting there!!

I got addicted again and started trying to close the number one. I got so close on so many attempts with both hands, that i coulda swore i closed it with my left hand, but im VERY unsure of it and will NOT count it. But im so god damn close with both hands. Man i hope i dont over train! At the end i did a hold and i just held it closed until it opened too much for 19 seconds with my right hand and 10 seconds or so with my left hand.


The number one is gonna be closed in a matter of weeks i think.

Whew, nice workout. The pinch grip was so awesome, definately getting stronger here fast. 45lb plate here i come! CoC strength is still the same, but every time i attempt a clsoe with my right hand i feel like i can close it. My fingers touch the other handle...im so close! Hangs felt good, they were a nice addition. BTW, the gripping on the CoC is hardening the skin on my fingers. Great now im gonna get callouses there too? :( Haha i guess ill just see. Surprised the callouses on my hand arent slightly torn from the hangs.

I'm thinking lately, and i might just be a deadlifter/bencher. I don't think squats will ever work for me. I dont know as of now though. My knees just dont like squats. Squatted a pretty easy 205 yesterday only velcro belt, but ive still got more knee pain now...like i did a while back. I just don't know if squats will cut it. I need a solution for my knees. If my knees were perfectly fine, id be totally good to powerliuft for real again. Hernia will be taken care of and finished in about a month, so i just need my knees healed totally. I'd love to do westside again......ehhh i just need my knees better and thats it.

And remember, im not at my best. I CAN hit 350! If i trained consistently, i KNOW id be at around 400. But oh well, im happy. **** the squat. Bench im not focused on. Deadliuft, i ****in love ya.

Thanks a lot man. Surgery is the following monday, only half hour to an hour long, and thats it. But ill be in the hospitable for 2.5hrs or so i think.

Good DL session, but get it out of your system now because once you have the surgery you must resist temptation to lift again or you will cause problems. And we don't want to see the hernia keep you out of the game any longer than it has to.

Bro im proud of you that you deadlifted 330 again, but with a hernia i would have to say that you should give it a rest man. Hernias are not fun, i had a double sided hernia and didn't even know it until i passed out from the pain one day in the gym when i finally realized it, and i was deadlifting. Im just saying play it safe bro, a hernia can put you in some of the worst pain you can ever expierence in your life. Take it easy man, work hard, but work smart.

Supercarpetman-I know! I really wish i never did those leg extensions back in march(knees), or the overload day(back), or football contact with 3x3(hernia). All three have held me back. Back is fine, knees are compromising, hernia is only stopping me mentally, no pain.

John-Exactly. That's why i did the 335 now. I got it out with a deadlift, the perfect way. I will have no temptation until im ready again. Once surgery is over, and im past post surgery recovery time, i will only have to watch out really for my knees.

Rookie-Well, i dont know really if a hernia affects strength, but lets just say i hadnt lifted in about 2-3 weeks and i didnt feel like i could deadlift much at the moment. Physically and mentally tired. But a melody i heard from about 5-6 years ago sparked some emotion and i pulled 335.



These months have been really emotional on me. Many things have happened. Too many to even talk about. All i know is im more into being a leader and doing what i want. Well im out. Surgery is in under 96 hours.

Man Steel. I don't see how you can stand 20 reps with the coc trainer. I got mine in the mail yesterday, and It is hell for your hands! Got blisters everywhere! They should use razor blades for the handles because it would be more comfortable than whats on them now! I can close it easily, but I like having skin on my hands....

Yeah, it is kinda rough haha. But you'll get used to it fast. If you overdo it at first or really use it, i think the skin actually swells up on your inside fingers :eek: lol

And on another note, my left hand grip is a piece of **** compared to my left, at least compared to ~20 reps Coc Right and 11-12 reps Left right now. And even after the ~20 reps it was easier to close than left after 11-12. ugh

I dunno. I am not maxing out for a while though. Im mostly doing 5 rep maxes and trying to improve upon them. I'll probably max out when my 5rm for bench is 185, and my 5rm for dead is 320.

Well, had the surgery. Went pretty good, except for the time before surgery. I hate needles and putting needles in me, so let me just say this. Why the hell did they have to mess up the IV TWO times? Lol after that, i waited 20 minutes watchin TV, and the anastegiologist(spelling is way off lol) came and numbed my right HAND. Then he put the IV in the hand and within 10 minutes i went into the operation room. Then about 2 minutes after arrival, i just fell unconscious. I forgot if i was told if the anastesia(sp???) was being put in. So anyways, i wake up 2 hours later in recovery room, and the rest of the story is not important.


Facts about today:

Met a nurse who lived on my block years ago(visits there now)
Hate needles and had it done 3 times
Passed out without knowing it
Cant shower until sometime wednesday (:eek:)
I'm gonna be in a lot of pain probably
I was in hospital for about 5 hours


Hahaha proppy, i didnt do anything :( I did get a few touches though haha. But none were really hot or anything, so why bother :-/

Rookie-hahaha. nah, it was IV all the way


And im gettin PS2. Kickass.


So im pretty much just sayin im fine and surgery went well. See ya people, train hard.

And yeah, ive played ncaa football 04 before and its awesome! I lose to my friends most of the time though haha. That reminds me. Glad to hear you're felling okay. Don't worry about the time off from the gym...I'm adding a fourth week to my layoff because i came down with a nasty cold over the holiday. Left work after three hours today because it was taking everything I had just to stay on my feet. I know I won't feel up to lifting tomorrow, so I might as well take another week of rest.

Today i was able to hop right out of bed, so im getting better for sure :)

And i think i closed the number one today! I didnt get a good view, but im pretty sure i closed it with my right hand! Used my new technique :)

I feel 98% better. I did some sprinting for fun yesterday and i think i still have it(most of it lol). I dont know if i got slower, but i think my vert went down an inch or so, but idk yet, maybe it didnt.


But anyways, back to the point. Once february 1st comes, i will do my introduction phase to lifting for about a week, then i will commence westside. Westside will finally return. I really think im up to it again, only now with more knowledge! Belt, wraps, spare money, i think im ready.

Oh and right now im 14 364.875/365 years old! Hahaha.

Squatted 225lbs with only my cheap velcro belt...did this with no knee wraps, so im very pleased im just as strong as ever!! 225lbs is bull**** though, because i can deadlift 3 plates or more as of now! :mad:

Well, the squat took at least 7 seconds to get up. Felt pretty light on back luckily. I will end this workout with glute/ham raises, barbell rows, and hyper extensions. Wow, a westside workout!! This was the exception though. My rehab/prehab phase starts NOW! It will be a lighter westside style workout scheme. Hmmmm, maybe i could squat 235 next week with no wraps, but why risk it? :p

Hey not bad at all. How much difference do you think wearing a belt and wraps make when maxing out on squat? Ive never used either one.

I thoguht you were going to wait until Feb to resumne your training. If I was you, I would only do real light stuff until Feb, kinda like what Im doing now for 3x3.

Just make sure you dont get injured for 20th time!! :D

Rookie--i explained why i did it in one of the posts before :D I will be following a light westside routine actually, because my preference is doing assistance exercises. Variation is something i like. I hope that nothing goes wrong however. The Doc DID say i could lift light(lol dont talk about my squat, which could be taken two ways in this post), so im liftin light from now on. BTW, wraps might add about 25lbs to my squat i guess...belt adds nearly nothin, but that was velcro belt i was using...so idk

DAMN this workout sucked ass. There are reasons for this however! Stayed in bed for hour after waking up. Only got 7 hours of sleep. Back felt tight. I was a little sore in upper body. I just felt weak today......Not a big deal though. Next time i will hit the incline press and go for 170 or more. ME Squat will go like this hopefully:

Agreed. Don't try to kill every weight you come across. I guess you're the best judge of your body, but don't do anything that might rupture it. You're looking strong for all the **** you're bouncing back from.

Pretty good workout. Wasnt my strongest, but it felt good. I had premonitions that this was gonna be a weaker workout. These should prove my point:

Did 5-6 hours of hard work on Saturday, which was also a weak day
Yesterday i felt much weaker and was tired and felt bad. Bodyweight only squats felt kinda hard
Today my back felt uneasy....and didnt feel like supporting the weight, which is a HUGE factor in how much weight i use. If it was like last week, id probably have felt like goin up to 215x3(prolly coulda done that today, or 225x3), but either way i was gonna stop at 205x3.

So, i got in 2 ME sets in a way. 185x3 and 205x3, were both equally hard. The Glute/Hams were a little weaker than usual but i liked them. The Hyperextensions were interesting. I used 2 45lb plates for these. I held them both arms hangin down for all 4 sets....and each set was easy. I can definately handle 135x8 or more this style. Though remember, i AM using my improvised version of the hyperextension, with my dip machine :D

Weighted situps felt very bad. I NEED to focus more on my core. Its holding me back. my back is just tight when doing these, and it feels bad going up and having to stabilize my core the whole time. I know that it was just today, however, that i felt like this. G

Feelin awesome now, DE Bench is next up in line. BTW, incase nobody knows this yet....i will be doing a maxout April 3rd. Yes, I'm going to try a longer westside cycle. I've got 75 days until maxout, and im going for at LEAST:

275 squat(REAL belt and knee wraps)
215 bench(REAL belt)
365 deadlift(REAL Belt)

Now i say REAL belt because these workouts im doing, im only using my velcro belt, the cheapass belt. On some occassions i will use my real 13mm double prong belt, but for now im stickin to barely supported. I think this cycle will go great....in total it is about 13 weeks long....so im gonna have a LOT of varying to do....and some new exercises too! Imagination will be helpful here :D

The lockouts kicked ass. At that height, i could unrack 275 easily with wide grip. Felt pretty good there

Extensions kicked my ass. I hate these yet i need them

Plate raises were differenmt today. Held a 5lb plate on each side of the 45 to add weight. Worked well. It was easy :)

Barbell Curls were awesome. 100 was so damn easy to curl, and if i really wanted to i might have gotten one more rep. 125 would have happened but the 100x7 wore me out.


Well thats it......comments are welcome.

Oh and i have a point to make as to Mondays weak workout. Here's proof i was feeling weaker particularly on that day. On the Friday DE Squat workout before, i had done 135x3 speedy and easily. On Mpnday, 135x3 felt like a chore, lacking speed. I definately could hjave done more ahd it not been for something.

But yeah, biceps are really in my genetics.....id say besides my back its my only other good muscle.


It just feels great to be back to lifting! I'm gonna get a lot stronger off this workout schedule i can tell.

By the way, 275 is comin soon man! When you maxin the bench?

Awesome workout! Speed was ****in here today!! Box squats proved today that last ME Squat workout should have been a LOT easier! Power Cleans were amazing! After i did 135x3, i think to myself "hmmmm lets put on a 5 on each side". But then i was like, "**** that ill rep my old max! 10 on each side!" And damn right i got it! I almost got 4 reps too! 2" Rack lockouts were mainly for back strengthening and grip reconditioning. 315 was a joke at this height! I could have definately repped this for 20 total reps....maybe upwards to 25! Full ROM is a diff story though :p Pulldown abs were fine, but theyre not exciting at all as everyone will agree :D

Tomorrow is ME Bench....looking for 175 on incline! Then its ME Squat on Monday, gonna do low rack pull work, considering thats my real weakness now.

Awesomne day!! It was a tough day thats for sure. My incline is pretty good I'd say :) I'll go for 190 next week! Close Grip Bench sucked ass.....but i wont complain. I decided not to do militaries because my lockout strength was EXHAUSTED. Paused rack presses from the chest were a nice choice IMO. I did them like this. Set the safety pins so the bar would rest RIGHT on my chest, and after every rep i paused it on the safeties for 1-2 seconds. This was hard sadly, but it only goes to show that my bottom strength needs work. This workout wore me out, but i love how i did. Monday is gonna be low rack work.......but i want honest advice here on how i should do it. The day after the worjkout i will go to the doctor who will evaluate me once and for all on my condition. How heavy should i go, and should i use my velcro belt or powerlifting belt? Here's all the info that might help. 2" rack lockouts i can do 315x15-25 i bet, considering how easy 8 reps was....my best low rack pull was 335, and my best deadlift was 335. But my low rack pull probably decreased. I dont know if i should hit a true max yet, or if i should. I've been fine all these days ive struggled so far, so it really is frustrating my mind!!!

I don't agree. I am so looking forward to doing them as my ME exercise tomorrow :D

BTW, great job with the bench work. You showed that incline who's boss. I wouldn't fret about the CGs, you probably exhausted your tris from the inclines.

Max out is up to you. If you're going to do it to gauge where you are and set up goals, then go for it. But if it's purely an ego boost, then I would hold off as you might be disappointed and risk an uneccesary injury/nuisance.
