Hi all,
Well. Long post. You're the best people to ask, so I appreciate anyone's thoughtful answer. I would really appreciate it if only women or men who have females in their life who've dealt with this respond. If I wanted sexual comments about this, I would have posted it in another section. Thanks in advance.

I've lost some fat (not a ton), gained a respectable amount of muscle... I've been lifting on a 4-5 day split consistently since December 2002. I'm very pleased with my progress. Of course this site gave me the knowledge to make decent gains.

One minor issue: My boobs have left. I lost an entire cup size. The only people in my life who work out are men, and they don't know what to tell me. My ex-fiance, whom I've known for 13 years, was shocked when he realized how small my breasts had gotten. I went from a C to a B.

Some people have suggested I go lighter on my chest workout. My upper pecs are visible through a t-shirt. I'm proud of them. But is more muscle mass under the breast tissue causing a reduction of actual breast tissue? I know breasts are mostly glands and fat, but I really haven't lost much fat. My GYN has told me I have fibrous breasts, so when I do a breast exam, you can feel the texture inside, not like a water balloon.

Another person told me to go on the birth control pill, that more estrogen would help them come back. Is that true, or is it just the increased tendency to retain water and fat? Which brings up another part of the issue that may be affecting them... my testosterone level seems to have increased since I've been lifting heavy. I don't take any pro hormones, just glutamine, a multi vitamin, Muscle Provider PW shake and occasionally some CLA. I can tell my test level has increased because I started having some disturbing effects: Increased body hair growth and acne on my back and shoulders. When I was lifting to failure very heavy, these things started. I took more days off and did higher reps, lighter weight, and I noticed the effects decreased. I control both now cosmetically (waxing and benzoyl peroxide) but I still notice it's an issue.

So. Will my boobs return? Are they on hiatus? Do either of those suggestions make sense? Is this just a trade off to having a smaller ass? :D Let me know what you think.

LOL. Youve lost body fat thats all. Dont sweat the situation, Im dieting right now and *ahem* I started @ a B-cup! I estimate 1 more month to a pre-pubecent me. The simplest solution would be ice cream and donuts :D But seriously, a B-cup is still respectable. All they need is a handful anyway right?

bump, since yuo have lost some bodyfat, you have lost some size form your chest. Your body does not pick where it loses the fat from, you just lose it.
For some women they lose mor e in the chest area than others.
As for them returning, I really do not know, sorry.

hey girl. all my life i was a d cup. now i am a b cup. the only plus to that is that because of the chest muscles getting larger, boobs don't sag anymore. i too have experienced the acne thing. went to dermatologist and he said that it is hormonal. well, duh. wish he would have told me something i didn't know. i have been on antibiotics 3 times this year. gets better, but comes back. not willing to give up the heavy lifting though. have no patience for high reps.
got a question for you, how are your periods? mine seem to never really go away. wondering if you have experienced that also. like i spot all the time. i don't take any hormones or steroids either.

What's weird to me about it is that I've lost about 50 pounds (5 years ago) and didn't have any real change in breast size. Now that I've lost a few more pounds of fat and definitely increased muscle, they are starting to disappear.

Barbi, I haven't had any problems at all with my cycle. I never have, though, no cramps, just a little bloating. It comes on schedule and stays its average length. For the acne, I used so many different products and agonized over it... I went to my dr and he gave me an oral antibiotic for 2 weeks but of course it came back. I finally found www.acne.org and the regimen on there has totally turned my skin around. They're not even selling anything lol. I got the acne at age 23, always had clear skin as a teen. Then when I started lifting, it appeared on my back and shoulders... I was like wtf! lol

Does anyone have experience with increased test levels or a solution to boob shrinkage? It doesn't weigh on my mind too heavily, I'd just like to know if there's a way to get them back. :)

I'm not worried so much, as I said, it's not weighing heavily on my mind... I've just spent 16 years of my life with size C breasts and within the last few months they've shrunk. That's why I'm asking the girls if they've experienced it and what they did.

I don't have anxiety over it, there is more to me than my breasts... but if all I need to do is go back on the pill and have them return, it would be a nice side effect.

5-AD the prohormone is a strong estrogen agonist but very very weak androgen(masculinizing effects). Maybe you should try that AST 5-diol. Estrogen is what causes tits. When you weight train your losing fat and gaining testosterone both which in the end lowers estrogen. In reality though the bestoption is to weight for a company like avant labs to come up with a local fat breast growth inducer. Whoknows when thatwil come out. THeir penis enhancer is still in the making. They already have a topical out that grows certain bodyparts with little systemic absorption and they are reputable company ive even tried their products myself.

Thats one reason why if you look at the steroid induced female bodybuilders their boobs are all muscular except right around the nipple where its all stuck out funny and sometimes really far which cannot be reversed without surgery. THe same reason why if a guy gets gyno lumps he can't reverse it by increasing testosterone. But you can enhance it back i would think by adding in estrogen again.

Hi Becky,

I saw your post after posting mine (44C to 42C). I guess the good thing about decreased estrogen is less chance of different types of cancers. In fact, I have a uterine fibroid and adenomyosis (endemotriosis of the uterus). However, in the short time I have been working out (since July), my periods are now regular (never before!) which means less estrogen dominance which means my female conditions will probably improve. Also, I find the increased testosterone to be nice - increased sex drive.

However, if my breasts get really small, I'll probably cut back on lifting or running.

also remember you lose fat from different areas at different time. So while your breasts are now smaller in proportion to the rest of yoru body, if you continue to lose fat and get more fit, the rest of your body will shrink too, and you'll be back in an even sexier proportion then you were before.

You can weigh 350lbs and have giant boobs, you are less sexy then an athletic, fit woman with A or B cup boobs. It's about proportions, not absolute sizes. i.e. or "Size doesn't matter"

Just keep loosing the fat, trust you are becoming healthier, more athletic, and far sexier. -- or at least that is THIS males point of view. (And if it wasn't wanted, I apologize)

Hi akm3,

Even when I was slim I had largish breasts, 36 - 38 C. My husband is with you. I told him I might get down to a really small size all over with weight training and running, and possibly a 33 or 34 A or B. He said "So what?" Guess I won't go from dark brunette to blond either - hee hee.

I'm 18 and am only a 32A. I'd look ridiculous if I had big breasts, plus they'd knock my eyes out when I run. I had a hangup about it before and wanted to get implants, then I came back to reality. Sometimes I feel inadequate, til I realize the majority of females my age have love handles and saddlebags. Then I rejoice in my flat stomach and muscular legs, I'd take them over big boobs any day. :D :D

Yeah really, hotgymchick. I do lots of running and wonder if a boob is gonna fly up and give me an upper cut or beat me severely about the head. Seriously, it is uncomfortable to run right before my period - ouchy. Also, I wonder if running could cause my breast ligaments to stretch. I was a dumb-dumb and bought an X-LG jogging bra. Did it fit? Heck no, it's too little. Playtex works ok. I'm with you, whether I end up at a 32 or whatever, great!

I'm joining the disappearing boob club, too. I've gone from an almost C-cup to an A-cup since May. I was getting a little bummed about it, especially since I haven't lost all the other fat I really WANT to go away... if ONLY I had the flat stomach, too.... Patience and hard work... I know I know.

the best is to have flat stomach, muscular legs and implants :D

i went from 38C when fast to 34A/B then implant 34DD
perfectly sized for my body i am usually around 16-17%bf

and i run fine with then with my gym tops dont bounce at all

never regretted getting them for a second

Hi Superbbgirl,

34DD - wow! Sounds great. At 46, I might still consider something like that. After all, I don't look my age and I know what weight training is doing for my body! I hear so much stuff about implants bursting and all of that. Are there safer ones today? My husband would probably have a fit. He won't even let me take birth control pills (he takes care of that-kinda nice though) becaue he is afraid of the damage they'll do me.

On average, women typically start losing breast size when their bodyfat percentage nears 20%. As bodyfat percentage decreases from there, so does breast size. Genetics determine where bodyfat is stored, a few women losing elsewhere before the breasts are affected. Butt and thighs are where fat starts storing. Unfortunately, first on is usually last off.

i lost 10 kgs in a year unfortunately the breasts shrunk and i was also very upset at that, decided to take the pill but causes too much water retention and bloating so i stopped, i guess the only resort to getting them back would be breast implants, nipple incision saline solution... they look and feel very natural... next item on my list of things to do :)

I lost 32lbs in 2years, and about 17%bf as well, went from a 36C, to 34 barely an A. I have gained alot more muscle, and I don't think they will come back, mine did not. I'm sure of your age, but I'm 41, and the doc said, I had very little breast tissue left, I had saline implants with a lift done about 2mos. ago, under the muscle, I love them, I lift as heavy as I can in the chest area, but I'm more concerned with bulk in my arms and legs. I had pretty minimal recovery time, and am back to almost 100% in the gym, except for lateral movements such as lat pulldowns, still have to go a little lighter, I'm now a 37 almost D.

The loss of boobs is a sacrifice bodybuilders must accept. I went from a D cup to a B, but it wasn't the size that bothered me. Like most of you, I had built the pecs so much that a deep indention could be seen horizontally across my chest in everything that I wore. Everyone could see where the muscle stopped and the left over fat and skin just hung off of the "indention." And from the repetitive dieting, my boobs sagged lower every passing year. As one that was formerly opposed to breat augmentation, I changed my mind when I realized how awful they looked and how insecure I was, even when I was show ready. I got a full lift and implants 2 years ago and boy do they make a difference, especially during competition time.

goes with territory...Sorry. Take it from someone who knows and if anyone finds a resolution, let me know too.

I too am victim of the magically disappearing boobs. I never was very big to begin with, a size b. My husband liked what pregnancy did for my breast size. Currently, I am not even a AAAAA size breast. I shop in the little girls department.

After the pregnancies, I wanted to continue competing in running and simply burned off all of my fat. I love cardio.

This was THE reason why I began bodybuilding two years ago. I wanted pretty curves. With heavy lifting, I manage to measure a 32 inch chest. Being only 13%bf, I realize that it's a no brainer that I have no boobs with my cardio level and little bodyfat. I simply am not happy with a big butt.

I sought out information that may increase my breast from creams to pills and of course breast augmentation. The information available is such that short of surgery, NOTHING will increase the size. I will continue bench pressing.

I must, I must, I must increase my bust.......
