Looks like it was a good workout. I've always wanted to try kettle bells but I don't know anyone who owns them and they are rather pricey.

Kettlebell work looked like fun. How much harder would you say it is than a dumbell?

And hahahaha, dude, you put PR for bicep measurement!!! :D I find that hilarious, but thats cool :D

You have your own kettlebell? That's cool!

But ah...45 waist? :D Bet you'll look and feel much better when you shed some of that excess baggage...then you'll be much leaner and more solid when you get back to 255 :buff:

(And here I was fretting over the 36 inch gut I expect to have when I hit 180 :D )

1/30 Push workout

3.25" thick bar overhead rack lockouts: 75(bar)x10, 100x8, 130x5, 150x5, 165x1(PR)

Incline DB: 30x10, 45x10, 55x10, 65x8(PR)

Bench: 95x10, 135x5, 155x5, 170x5, 190x5

Tate Presses: 20x10, 25x10, 30x10, 35x6, 35x10(PR)

NOTES:
-wrapped the hand again, theres one spot it keeps splittin open at

-lockouts were good, this PR is higher than my barbell pr lol...done from top of head level again

-incline DB felt ALOT lighter than usual! cleaning was harder than pressing

-bench was solid..if I had done them first IMO I could've hit a new bench PR today

-met a cool guy ive talked to before there..hes done a strongman contest or 2...REAL big guy... watched him do 3 sets of 7/8 reps with 315 on INCLINE bench then rep off 225 for 15 after his sets...touch and go no bounce, when he got tired last 2/3 reps each set hed do a 2sec or so pause on the chest...was quite inspiring...hes gonna train some saturdya with me at Tonys

-tate presses felt great after I got the form down hehehe..i like these :cool: could've went heavier, but was just learnin form and repition to get it down

-WON'T be goin to Tony's to train events tomorrow because its supossed to be -14 out...real easy way to tear a muscle :eek:

-overall good workout...got chewed out abit at the end by Shawn bc i hadnt been there in like 2 weeks bc ive been at the co-rec :eek: scary

Overall Grade: A

currently doing a westside type routine
ME push, ME pull, DE push, DE pull each week + events on saturday

this is VERY taxing on the body, and I have trouble being not sore nad fresh for each workout..either events suffer(usual) or lifts

SO especially as we close in on 3 months til contest, wanna find a way to train events HARD each week
so came up with this:

I'm still doin events saturdays

-each week id have the following days:
1. Push(chest, delt, tri)
2. Pull(trap, back, bi)
3. Oly lifts/cardio
4. grip

i would base it kinda like 3x3 where each week on Monday one of the three gets hit hard, while the others for the week are just average DE or ~60% 1RM type workouts

so, basically:
Week 1:
Monday-> ME PUSH
tue->grip
wed->legs
thur->o-lift/cardio
fri->pull
sat->events

Week 2:
Monday-> ME PULL
tue->push
wed->grip
thur->legs
fri->o-lift/cardio
sat->events

Week 3:
Monday-> ME LEGS
tue->grip
wed->push
thur->o-lift/cardio
fri->pull
sat->events

Week 4:
Monday-> ME O-LIFTS
tue->cardio/grip
wed->push
thur-> pull
fri-> off(this week has too many days, so rest legs bc theyll get worked with o's and pull and some push enough to take a week off every 4 weeks of direct squats, etc...plus ill make that the saturday we do alot of events with legs)
sat->events

opinions??

2/5's workout

Cleans: 45x10, 75x5, 105x5, 135x7, 145x5, 155x5
note: Powerclean first rep, hanging clean every other rep, push press the last rep

Push Presses: 135x3, 165x2, 180x1, 200x0

NOTES:
-Thx10050 went with me...went to a Fighters' United callout first with him, gonna hopefully get into that for cardio and UFC purposes..learn some stuff

-he did cardio while my workout besides for doin a few stes of cleans with me

-Cleans were ok..shoulder started hurtin AGAIN near the end...the press part was almost strict military, felt STRONG...just did too much before push presses or else woulda had a PR easy

-push presses were goin well with good leg pop...165x2 was EASY, 180 was solid..but 200 just couldnt get the leg pop again

-didnt do much, just a bit before saturday...prolly gonna be sore, but will just work log cleans maybe saturday since shoulder is ****ING **** again...only the left is worth mentioning...but now the pain is constantly thru the elbow as well, extending...which means it MUST be getting better if the pain is expanding :rolleyes: :mad:

-overall STILL feelin down....worried bout contests this summer, which just INCREASES my stress...feel like Rocky in #3...for the frst time im scared before a contest...last summer prep went great, no shoulder pains, NOTHING..flawless prep and was just excited and enjoyin it..now im with the big boys, in pain....UGH its just adding up...dont mean to keep bitchin, but just lettin you in to my mindset

Don't panic. You still have lots of time, but deal with it NOW. When you do event training tomorrow, mention it to the big boys and have them watch your form...bad form alone can cause and compound your problem...same goes for your gym lifts. Get someone who knows the lifts to watch you, or at the very least have someone video your sessions and analyse them later.

If it's serious, get it checked out and treated. There's lots of time to fix it and hit up the training before the summer.

And before you write anything off, remember that last year wasn't a piece of cake either...hurting your knee in one contest and coming back to fight through the second contest...your shoulder is a speedbump and nothing more. You'll get over it and still throw everything you have into this year's contests.

Good luck with event training. Hope everything works out.

2/7 EVENT TRAINING -> FEBRUARY PR DAY!!!!!!

Warmups: DB alt curl(20x10), DL(135x3), CG rows(130x10), squat(45x30), military(40x10, 50x10)

18" DL: 445x1, 535x1(30lb PR!!), 625x0

Box Squats(13" box :eek: ): 45x5, 135x5, 225x5, 225x5, 315x0

Hub Grips: 20x1(left and right), 35x0, 20x1(left and right)

Log Press: 170x1, 180x1(PR), 190x0, 190x0, 190x0

notes:
-knee hurt and shoulder hurt, but shoulders didnt really bug me after warmups and the knee I put a brace on

-18" DL just jumped right in lol, 445 was easy, 535 came up without too bad of a fight, was very happy with a PR on these :)

-boxsquats to a 13' box were LLOOOWW! 225 was a good working weight, let me struggle a bit then pop the top half...315 just pinned me down, couldnt get it off lol..never used that low of a box

-hub grips are EVIL lol...only one that got 35lb in each hand was Shawn, only 1 other guy got it up to lockout with 1 hand

-log went suprisingly well...biceps fried quick as the log empty is 170, so so much for their warmup lol....cleans werent great bc of thursday's clean and jerk session, but fought them up...180 was a 10lb PR...190 each time got above my head and was at the transition zone to where tri's would easily have put it up..just got 2 or 3 more inches to go with my leg drive to have a 200+ log

-overall a good day, had ALOT of fun as well...feel much better about this summer now..a ****ty week of weights ends with a good PR day...crazy ass sport :D

-using my old box squat PR(higher box) of 285, and adding my 535 18" dl and 180log, that makes my strongman powerlifting total(box squat, log, 18" dead) to 1000 :cool:

hehe thanks bro...the 190 log is SO close...very soon I'll be at 200+, eg: within the month

same with 550+18" dl...as my hips get stronger, these numbers wil die... 535 wasnt even a huge struggle

hub grip - you know the hub in the middle of the plate...the raised part with the hole in the middle...you're supposed to pick up the plate by grabbing the outside of the hub.

You actually tried to go from 535 to 625 when 535 was a 30 pound PR? Now I've seen everything. Good job on the PRs. 200 will be yours in no time.

Awesome Freaking job on 535 man! that is some big weight your pulling around there. The log press looks like they good, I would like to try them one of these days. I would imagine they would be quite difficult since they are build much differently then the average barbell. Nice hub grips, I've tried them before, I got a 25 (grabbed the hub of an Olympic plate with some chalk) but they were tricky - not a big fan of them. Still have to try box squats, I think I'm going to order one of those box squat boxes soon cause I want to incorporate them into my workout somehow.

yeah, im sore as well lol...knee sucks today too

this is the week from hell at school...workouts will be short and sporadic until friday... in the next 2 days have 2 papers due, 4 exams, a quiz, and other homework

that being said went grocery shoppin and bought cut food yesterday, and pretty much began today. Didnt crunch numbers to make sure im exact yet, first gonna see where i can fit meals and such with classes...getting timing down and learning when my body will let me eat(eg: not before class..MRP baby)

today wasnt enough food, but good:
before class->MRP shake
between classes-> Chicken salad sandwhich, pretzels and lemon tea
after class-> finished my garlic bread from the fancy place saturday(hey, im not lettin that expensive, delicious food go to waste!
later->Rice, green beans, 2 prime ribs(gotta love dad being a meat man)
also lots of water thru the day

:cool:

should I keep my cutting diet log here too in this journal, or start one in another section???

ah **** it, prolly gonna start a new journal soon anyway....added another contest tonight most liekly for May 1st...
so ill ahev that, and you say to start a diet journal in HERE right? in this forum???

Just a heads up, not for sure yet, but prolly gonna do another contest...

May 1-> Xenia, Ohio
(weights are split, first is police/fire/mil. light, right is heavy..not sure what weight ill come in at...such a small dif. in weights anyway dont really care)
1. Max Axle Press from rack
2. Max 18" DL
3. Conan's wheel(450/500)
4. Stones to a 36" barrel(225, 247, 255, 280 300 / 235, 247, 255, 280-, 305)
5. Medley, all 25 yards:
light: 185 Stone carry, 175 farmers, 450 tire
heavy: 185 stone, 200 farmers, 450 tire

with my new training program I made, its set up to be fresh and not sore for saturday anyway, so i prolly wont take any weeks off BEFORE this contest or team event, just before nationals...so only training time im losing is recovery time, which is a week or less. These events are mostly at nationals anyways, so this will be a competitive training session for me. So between not having to specifically train anything new, and training right up to it, im only POSSIBLY losing at most a few days training...not bad for more contest experience!!

-zerchers were low as hell as usual
-zercher lockouts were completely raw, no belt, nothin. 500 wasnt too bad except for the middle part, hips again, but fought thru for 3 reps.

2/13 Friday the 13th PUSH workout

Axle Push Press: 45x10, 75x8, 115x5, 140x5, 155x5, 175x5(PR), 135x5

Seated Overhead Axle Rack Lockouts(from forehead): 115x5, 135x5, 150x4(PR), 135x5

Tate Presses: 25x10, 30x10, 35x10, 40x5(PR)

DB Bench: 35x15, 45x15, 40x20, 50x13(drop set into->)35x5

V-grip CG cable pushdown: 60x10, 80x10
note: these were done on a 1-pulley system, which makes them about twice as heavy as a typical gym cable system

NOTES:
-Push Presses were AWESOME! My regular barbell push press PR is 190...I did 175 with the Axle(2" bar i think) for 5!!! Also, in between his sets of 650lb deadlift TRIPLES, Shawn worked with me to get some pop...thats why the last set dropped back to 135...worked on pop, and it worked, snapped overhead instead of fighting each rep

-seated lockout went well, again with the axle... wrists will get stronger too from workin with thick bar, esp day after o-lifts..they sore! hehe

-tate presses felt strong today, got a nice PR

-DB bench was for endurance, the drop set was to total and utter failure

-cable pushdowns are HARD with 1 pulley!!!

-overall GREAT workout, very happy with this

Overall Grade: A

EDIT: You better hit those squats and benches harder too man. That total is just waiting to go even higher with those 2 lifts. I think you can bench atleast 250 by now. Squats should be near 400.

2/17 Push

Push Presses: 45x15, 75x8, 105x5, 125x5, 135x5, 150x5

Bench:115x15, 135x15, 150x15, 165x12, 175x10

Tate Press: 25x10, 30x10, 40x10(pr), 45x8(PR!)

notes:
-overall great workout again...felt very strong and solid today
-push presses were good, got a very good leg drive thru all of them, no struggles...190is a pr with a reg. barbell and did 150 for easy 5
-bench felt VERY VERY good today, best it has in awhile...form is locked in, and felt strong for once...if my lats werent very sore from yesterday id have maxed...not bad for sore lats eh? :) I am SO ready to PR bench, ESPECIALLY with my poly on
-tatesfelt very strong...old PR was 40x8, hit 40x10 THEN 45x8....very happy.
-did a good job getting myself psyched and pissed to do the lifts before missing an attempt...before id miss once, then get mad and kill it...cant do that in contest...so im learning to really workmyself up and breath it out and get psyched for the first attempt and ALOT more focused...its paying off...watch out competition, the Yardie is taking his game to a whole new level :cool:

2/18 Grip and Event

Seated side DB bends: 35x10, 45x10, 55x10(pr)

low Zercher Lockouts: 135x5, 205x5, 225x5, 275x5, 315x1, 405x1, 455x1, 515x1(PR!)

DB holds: 100 x 2:05(PR!!!)

NOTES:
-worked out with Thx10050, he did great for doin alot of this for the first time and more
-side bends was first time doin em with a DB and seated, felt good, worked the obliques well..couldve gone much heavier, but its a de day
-zerchers HURT trhe first set as im still bruised from 500 last week, but after that they got over it...515 went up EASY compared to the 500 last time...was gonna go for 550 but we were gettin short on time
-DB holds were great, ESPECIALLY having killed grip monday with the pulldowns and especially a new PR deadlift lol.... but old pr was 100x1:19 or so....they started to feel the dead forearms at 20seconds in but said oh wel...at ~1:40 the grip started to go so i LET it drop to fingers only to save my healing callous..and then proceeded to gut out ~25seconds just holding them at a 45 degree angle in my thumb and first 2-3 fingers lol...i think my finger strength training has payed off :D
-overall VERY pleased with today, especially with DB holds...time to go for 2:30 with 100's and also move up to 110s and 120s

Overall Grade: A

Hey, sorry, man, you coulda done the 550 if you wanted to; I wasn't in THAT big of a hurry. It's just my nutrition talking to me; I was itching for my post-workout shake, lol. :)

And yeah, awesome workout. :)

Oh, and guys, Adam actually held the DBs on his best set for about 2:10 to 2:15. It was my fault for losing track of time; the clock was weird and the second hand didn't really line up with the second marks, so I wasn't sure what I was seeing, heh. :)

2/20 Legs and O-lifts

Squats: 45x15, 95x5, 135x5, 185x5, 205x5, 225x5

Next few things ALL have to do with power cleans or clean and jerks...basically worked them as 3 distinct parts and worked on form and speed

FUll powercleans: 95x10, 95x10, 95x5

Floor->waist: 75x10, 75x10, 75x7, 75x7, 75x7, 75x5, 75x5, 75x5

Hang clean(waist->shoulders): 75x10, 75x10, 75x7, 75x7, 75x7, 75x5, 75x5, 75x5

Split Jerk(overhead): 75x5, 75x5, 75x5, 95x5, 95x5, 105x5, 105x5

Full Clean and jerk: 105x7

notes:
-started ****ty...didnt eat enough today by ANY means, was tired, and just had no energy...plus with the legs not gettin real heavy work lately bc of the knee they felt sluggish and thick...was gonna do a good solid DE workout, instead worked my ass off on form and endurance, and definately made some strides
-squats felt heavy with 205 even, so kept them light
-feel much better about clean form, as you can see we worked it alot...kept sayin "again" with me and my liftin buddy after seein Miracle last night
-then went and saw it again tonight, on him though, free for me :D
-overall started ****ty, but ended good..made progress in my powerclean, and got a great sweat and endurance workout goin

Overall Grade: B-/C+
squats felt bad, tired and sluggish workout, but pushed through, had a good form day, and learned alot, as well as taught alot. im startin to like this teachin idea...maybe i will take dad seriously and use my degree to work at a school/university as a strength coach or teacher :D

after talkin to alot of you and others on AIM, and watching Miracle twice, here is the new game plan for Nationals:

got this idea in my head, and had it solidified seeing "Miracle"...for Nationals, I obviously won't be the strongest one there...being only 21 and in this for 1.5 years by then, i know theres gonna be bigger, older, stronger guys...theres 3 keys to a contest...strength, endruance, technique....if Icant out power them, I CAN out endurance them and out technique them in the amoutn of time I have to train... i think I should focus on that...same as US beat russia...i develop enduance to finish the last stone last event as strng as my first lift of the day, and perfect technique on everything...endurance cost me a shot at teen nationals, got the 3rd and necessary atlas stone to about 3 inches from rolling it to the platform, and legs were just dead. It will not happen again. I WILL be the best conditioned one there, and will be more conditioned/stronger/faster/more explosive than ever :cool:

holyshinto63
02-21-2004, 04:09 PM
That sounds likes a good idea bpp, just make sure your still focusing on strength along with endurance and power because if you can't lift the fourth or fifth stone because your not strong enough, all that endurance won't help. I like where your going with that idea though, if you can't out lift them, have more endurance and power then them (and pray that all the events aren’t based on pure strength). The workout looks pretty solid to me and i want check out miracle sometime soon since it looks pretty good.

BPP
02-21-2004, 06:39 PM
definately still focus on strength #1, but gonna equal it in conditioning, as not all events are power...

2/21 EVENTS

Farmers: 75x80ft(warmup)

Medley: 75ft for each apparatus, 2min time limit... 205lb farmers, 185lb keg, 500lb tire
farmers x 75ft, keg x 75ft, tire x ~25feet

tire flips: tire x 50ft

Truck Pull, s10 with a 250lb rock in back and driver: 130ft, 130ft

Hub grip: 20xLR, 20xLR, 25xL, 22.5xLR

Wrist/forearm roller: 45x1(1 rep = floor to top), 90x2.5

notes:
-again felt slow and lacking energy, also was about 37 degrees and cloudy out, adn wet

-medley was DRAINING...farmers felt heavy for some reason, keg was awkward to carry and I tripped and fell at the end of the 75 feet, costing me time, then by the time I got to tire ran out of time limit after a few flips

-tire flips felt like crap today from shins->stomach...the bottom was fine, the top 1/4 was fine, the transition to knee, then uip again to the top 1/4 position was weak today

-s-10pull was done on a parking lot, that starts flat and gradually and incresingly inclines, wanna talk about a burn and dead quads...it was after this! kept slipping on the incline as well bc ground was wet and slick

-hub grips went ok..left is stronger at hubs, still bc of the right pinkie being broke a few years ago and being a bit weaker, gotta work with some tennis ball squeezes and such to get it up to equal the left

-roller was suspended in the power rack at shoulder level...90 got a very nice burn by the time it go up to the top!!

-overall so-so day, feel pretty beat up, but coulda been worse...just been lackin NRG yesterday and today

overall grade: C

Don't tell me you're complaining about 37 degrees out there. We only had a couple weeks of aprox 0 degree weather, and anything around 32 felt pretty good after that.

Anyway, events look awesome. A bit tired to fully comprehend the numbers right now, but the truck pull definitely caught my attention. 130 is pretty good...BTW, did you give out at 130 both times, or was it a 130 "track?"

BPP
02-21-2004, 07:13 PM
hehe, same here, but it was 50 all week and this morning...then at 3pm it got COLDER than morning...plus its just cold to compete in it...cant get and stay real loose

thanks bro..wasnt areal heavy truck..just havin dead legs to begin with and using an incline parking lot made it a bit harder...no troubles starting or keepin pace though, just the huge burn towards the end

its a 150 foot parking lot, started in ~20ft so we werent in the main road...pulled thru the incline parking lot til we hit the next street/alley thing, so it was a 130 course...second time I slipped and fell at about 100, so had to start over on the incline where i fell about twice more before finishing

Kick ass stratagey. If you can master 2 of the 3 techniques your already set, plus you have alot of power as it is. Your mental toughness and condition can go hand in hand but in the end its all about desire, passion and heart that will make you prevail and you def have got that. Your on the road to major victory bro. ]

worked at the driving range today with my driver...still workin with my swing to get ready for Long Drive

used the titliest instead of the Nike today...has a better head for long drive...has a regular length, stiff shaft...was workin on keepin the ball on teh grid, extending my swing length back to where it used to be, and swing speed

started the day around 102-105mph on average, after a bit of tweaking, the SLOWEST swing was 109 the last 50 or so, averaged a pretty consistent 112mph, and the higehst being 116mph.... gonna use these numbers from the swing speed measuring unit to help build my custom 50" long drive driver...gotta work on my speed...need to get it up to about 125mph on average, and about 140mph to get to a national level...the 50" driver just by being that much longer will add swing speed, but gotta work a bit myself too...not bad though, was flying the back net consistently at the range....i knjow the owners from hittin there alot and HS, they know I do this and strongman, so their new nickname for me is Moose lol

WORKOUT 1: PUSH
Axle Press from Rack: 30x15, 80x10, 105x5, 135x5, 155x1, 165x1

DB bench: 35x15, 45x15

Bench: 105x15, 140x15, 150x12

DB incline: 35x25, 25x35

DB military: 45x15

notes:
-good workout...60seconds or so between exercises, 45seconds at most between sets...all above was under 40min
-was a bit sore, and had no leg drive for axle presses, but got a good heavy shoulder and endurance chest day
-had a protein shake afterwards

WORKOUT 2: CARDIO
-with Thx10050 @ co-rec
Track Running: jogged a lap, then did hit for 3 laps(jog curves, sprint straightaways) then just jogged...total of ~20-25 minutes?
-went immediately to FU below, only a stretch between(same building, dif. room)

Workout 3: Fighters United:
-here hit someheavybag and learned close-quarters combat from Thx, then worked on takedowns, grappling and submissions frm a few others...
ran basically 2 grappling exhibitions with a guy closer to my size, and experienced....first match he guillotine choked me within a minute...second match I had him half mounted most of the match, we had a good match for a good solid 7 or 10 minutes I'd say, ended with me getting arm-barred and tapping again
-no strikes in the matches, just worked grappling and submissions
-gonna be doin this Monday and Thursdays...1) as cardio, 2) bc i always waned to do UFC stuff

-OVERALL NOTES
-tiring day, but good...had HELLA sweats goin every workout...
-FU is very fun and cool people, im excited to learn...theres a UFC oriented club that trains saturdays im gonna check out sometime too
-workout was good but nothing special, coulda bene better, but got some endurance work don

thanks bro!! don't know how much skill I have yet hehehe, but hopefully itll get there...whenever i wrestle around with friends, im definately a takedown, ground and pound type...i like to shoot the leg, throw them down, and overpower....so i mainly rely on power over technique....gonna use grapplin at FU as cardio, build hip speed and mat speed, and technique :cool:

good news and bad.....

got the email back from promoter of nationals...

good news:
If I get to lightweight, I can compete in that class even though I was a heavyweight at the contest I qualified at.

bad news: :(

NASS rules state at police/fire/military nationals, during weigh in, you must show a current, valid ID to prove it.

long story short, lots of politics goin down at my department, and the new rule is you can only stay inactive for 9 months. We were made inactive when we left for school in August. Meaning come May, I either have to go to full-time, or resign. If i go full-time, I HAVE to make my %'s, or else I'm kicked off, and cannot come back for 2 years if ur kicked off, plus u start over from the bottom after those years. I have 2 classes to take this summer...i cant go back there and live just to go active again.

so basically if an exception can't be worked out(they've been VERY ****ty about everything to us, and have not given an inch, basically made rules as they go, and ****ed us numerous times along the way...so in other words, they wont give me one JUST to go to nationals), then I can't compete. Dream over.

i could join down here, BUT the policy is 6 months probation first...eg: no ID to compete still, plus I'd be kicked off prolly due to time down here, and there's a waiting list to boot anyway to join.

Fats: 150g
calories: ~4500-4650

yeah, if I come in in the cardio shape I want, I want to win the truck pull.

went golfing today bc it was like 55 out! still workin towards long drive contests, but played a GREAT round for my first one out this year....im stayin on my feet, not on my toes, and hittin ball consistently straighter this year, can't wait for golf outing season...long drive $$$ here we come :D

shot 37(+1) today...hit 6 drives, long of 340, average of 300.8

not bad for getting NO roll today bc it was W-E-T...also stayed prolly within 102-112mph today...didnt really go AFTER any, 4/6 woulda stayed on the grid too, including the 340

when i build my 50", go after it, and get some rolll.....gonna be a good shot at qualifyin in July :cool:

the 340 today, in summer with a 50", woulda been out there prolly 380-400, which would give me a pretty good shot at gettin thru the qualifier

hmm...win Xenia in may, win nationals in june, and win the long drive national qualifier in july...damn, it's gonna be a good summer :cool:

it depends...one of the guys has hit 500+ but that was in a colorado/nevada type atmosphere(thin air = FAR ball) with like a 56" driver which is outlawed now....long drive limits length at 52"...last year's champion hit ~403 to win, with new restrictions

hit a large bucket today, almost ever one besides maybe 5 over the net, which is i THINK 275 far, and about 30 feet high or so....was hittin my 5 wood to 1-hoppers into the fence hehe...but yeah, driver was fun...had 3 or 4 people comment today with a "jesus...." or "wow.." :D good times

plus found my comfort zone to keep it on the grid...when i miss the grid i pullhook it left, but got it ahead of my left foot, and got closer to the ball, and was hittin it straight, high and far

yeah, 400+ WILL be sick :D

im gonna be tryin to qualify for the world long drives(october in nevada) alot...u can try as many times as u want, and Indianapolis has 3-4 a month, and is an hour away.... lookin at the schedule, theres a chance to qualify to take on the Pinnacle long drive team ill head out to in Illinois June 12th, and then my nationals qualifier in July here in Indiana over in south bend :cool:

3/1 Beautiful Day....time to work on Long Drive :D

Birck-Boilermaker, the boilers home course and best in the area, was closed(driving range at least)today bc it was stilla bit wet...so settled for a small ma and pa range on state road 52 about 5 minutes away....the thing was only 300yards long, then cornfields....let's just say the only balls of mine that landed were 5-woods or 7-irons :cool: Hit a jumbo bucket, about 15 7-irons, 15 5-woods, and a LOT of drivers....just tryin to get comfortable with foot position and such, get my swing consistent....i pulled alot again today, but a) the wind was strong right to left, and b) i forgot my tees, and they had us on fake mats today, so I was using the rubber tees, just taking it out and standing it up so its even taller than my regular long tees....between the 2 many balls went left today lol...but, was making SOLID contact and hitting ball far :cool:

others on the range(thruout my time there), were 2 college kids, a dad and his son, and a japanese couple...besides for the college kids, I was talked to about my driving or given more "jesus! holy ****!" type comments from all of them
i love hitting at small ma and pa ranges, theyre always in awe :D
