If I love the taste of Xtend and don't want a protein shake but have 3.5- 4 hours between meal 3 and 4, is it ok to just sip on Xtend? Will this cause an insulin spike... or will it just keep me anabolic? Can I sip this stuff throughout the day w/out worrying about fat storage?

In the past when I sipped Xtend during the day, I lost fat while gaining muscle, so I definitely think it is a good idea (and also why I am doing it again :))

I was under the impression that insulin spikes are generally caused when carbs are being ingested? Just a question for reference.

Yes carbs cause a rise and insulin but so does consuming protein, when food is consumed insulin is released. To slow down the insulin release eat fats with all meals.

Just curious YS...consuming xtend would not cause an insulin spike? I know that they are essential amino acids, but technically they are a form of protein being an amino acid. Will this cause your insulin to rise?

Derek did mention losing fat, while gaining muscle, so my guess is the answer is no, it should not cause an insulin spike.

BTW I am referring to drinking xtend throughout the day, in between your meals.

I always drink my XTEND throughout the day, and I have had great results from it. Loss of B.F. and keeps you in an anabolic state.

Yes it will cause an insulin response, but the benefits of taking xtend throughout the day far outweight the disadvanatages of it.

Good to hear, Derek had great results using this that method, as did Marc.
