our school has a 700 club for those who can total 700.

sounds easy for you guys eh? well not for me. im in 9th grade and my goal is to make it by the time im in 11th.

i cant really give an exact total because the weights at my house go up to only 120.

i can bench the 120 but i have a hard time.....

i cant really squat it cuz my back hurts even when i use a towel

i can deadlift it without hardly trying.

Here are my current stats (just with a belt on the squats and deadlifts also)

Bench: 355
Squat: Box: 500 Parallel: ? (I haven't maxed out below parallel)
Deadlift: 450
Total: 1305 (but again the squat is box, but it's right at parallel, not below parallel, which is the standard for most powerlifting federations)

I really don't count my total as accurate since my squat is sketchy, but it's all I can put on right now. Hopefully I won't get ridiculed all that bad. Oh, and I'm 225lbs and 16 years old.

Ridiculed? Your lifts are damn impressive at 16!

Most PL federations expect a squat 1-2 inches BELOW parallel, btw.

I was just saying that I might have been ridiculed on my squat because it's not below parallel, which is standard for competitions. I recently did that also, this past Friday in fact. I honestly don't know if I could put up all that much below parallel, but I have been doing between 330lbs-350lbs for reps. I just feel bad though that I neglected my squat, and haven't worked as hard on my legs at all, compared to my upper body.

bench 160kg and deadlift 255 - 265kg in around 6weeks in a "meet"..though this time last year i was training for the same "meet" and i was at 97.5kg and i squated 302.5kg, benched 185kg, and deadlifted 285kg (btw i could squat more for this meet but i am not going to max out i think it would be around 260 - 270kg..the reason being i dont need to do anything more...just out to make a total as i have been out of competition now for quite awile.

Hey thanks man, theres a lot of stiff competion here in Texas. I just heard from a friend who just got back from regionals. That there was a guy in the 220's who totaled 1750 and hes only a jr. in high school! I feel that i was lucky to have gone to a high school were our powerlifting coach is a "Bad Ass". He's taking at least 2 to state every year for the last 8 yrs. Also he coached a guy who broke Mark Henry's high school records in the squat (820). and also broke the bench record (500). But if i could i wanted to asked you a question. How do you make the "mind set change" from Powerlifter to Bodybuilder? I was thinking about doing the Johnny O. Jackson workout, were you mix in bodybuilding with powerlifting. If you have any suggestions please respond.

Deadlift: 545 (I hate deadlift)

Should be neaer 1550. I havent competed in over 2 years since I went to high school meets and won with a 1300+ total.

I'll probably wait another year because I dont feel like I will win with these numbers.

Bench-285

Squat-not really sure, did 345 for 6 reps last week but am hesitant to try a max due to my unreliable knees. Ass to the ground btw.

Deadlift-have done 365 for two reps..haven't tried a one rep max.

All you younger folks I am really impressed with the lifts, keep it up because it takes forever to build it up it seems but you lose it so fast =( and the older you get I guess the harder it is to regain it.

When I was 17-18 my lifts were:

Bench 315

Squat 500, NOT butt to the floor..was parallel(sp?)

Deadlift unsure we really didn't do deadlifts in my HS back then, matter of fact after all these years thinking I knew alot after doing nothing for 10 years basically I realized how..pathetically bad...our coachs' were at teaching us the proper way to do lifts.
