okay, so I was having this discussion with my BF and thought I'd pose it here as well.
My boyfriends Japanese, and I have grown accustomed to the asian lifestyle/ways of eating/etc/... So I love to have rice at meals! I have lowered the amount to 1/2 cup-1 cup only at dinner a few times a week.
Anyways, I was telling him that we should try to lower our carbs and take more carbs in from vegetables and oatmeal/protein AM mix. He said, "well why can't we just add scoops of protein powder to the rice water so the rice soaks up the protein powder."
This left me speechless, would that work? What do you guys think? It's a creative way to add protein, but I am curious as to what you guys think. Does the protein powder denature if you were to cook it at high temp like that? I eat little rice now as it is, as I said...but I thought that it was a creative ploy from my bf to get us to keep eating rice.
Anywho, let me know what you guys think!
