I was wondering if someone could explain to me what its like...you know, what they judge you on, how thats works exactly.
I heard a referece to music, do you have to pose to music? do you always have to do certain poses? like figure skating. Do you get to win money? if so whats average? Ive only seen fitness competitions on TV so i dont know anything about this stuff. What about your outfit? etc... Im really curious. tks.

Competing is an adrenalin rush. It's all you hard work, dedication, goals and focused presented as a whole.

The judges look for muscularity, definition and symmetry. You are judged in 3 different rounds; the Quater Turns, Mandatorys and your individual routine. There are certain poses you must execute that you will be judged on. For women that would entail; Front double bicep, Side Chest, Side Tricep, Back double bicep, Abdominals. Others poses may be called if it's a close decision. You may add more poses to your individual routine.

The placement decision is made at prejudging which takes place in the morning so the night show flows smoothly. For bodybuilders, there is no music for prejudging, only the night presentation.

Only pros make money bodybuilding. Some top level amatures make money guest posing and seminars, but there's really no money to be made unless you have unreal genetics or a load of goodies.
