Anyone ever make their own preacher bench? Doesn't seem like it'd be too difficult, but I'm not exactly sure on what angles are used. Anyone have any advice?

Before I bought a preacher's bench, I just used an old bench to hold the bar (http://homepage.mac.com/biggerfoot/.Pictures/oldpreacherbench.jpg) and used the preacher pad and bench combo that is common with most benches. It did the job.

I don't have the preacher pad attachment.
I wonder if other benches' preacher pad attachements would fit into my bench's attachment point?

I have seen them at several different angles depending on who makes them as well... I know my gym has one that is a 45degree (says on it 45 degree preacher curl), and 2 others that are closer to 60degrees..

If it's a standard attachment hole than you can buy an attachment from NYBB http://newyorkbarbells.com/95020.html and I think pretty much any regular attachment will work

looks rough but does the job. i actually used an old chair & bolted the pad to it on an angle, pretty steep about 75 deg. the triangles are mdf thats hold the whole thing at that angle. u stand up doin it with ur legs on each side of the chair.

Get an arm blaster, it provides an effect similar to a preacher bench.
