I've worked very hard on my body for the last couple weeks, putting in double the time and effort. I've gotten my body fat down to 12% - but still can't get the cellulite off my thighs and butt. I want to cut down to 8% and begin competing - but how am I supposed to compete with dimples in my thighs? Any suggestions, supplements, creams, work-outs - anything information that'll help fix this problem will be much appreciated.

Cellulite is caused by adipose semi-protruding through connective tissue, which is structurally different in females vs. males -- even in females who do not show visible signs, under the microscope, the differences are still apparent.
Unfortunately, for most ladies, the difference seems to be primarily caused by androgens.

Wow, 8% is vety very low, even for a competitor.... I assume you are doing bodybuilding rather than figure.
I have to say, if you are at 12% and you still have a lot of cellulite, it probably isn't going anywhere *sigh* Unfortunately it has a lot to do with genetics. I started to get a bit of cellulite (bad genes) but as soon as I got down to about 20%, it was gone...

male here, i do not have a bf problem but would like knowledgable info.
is this a myth or will stretching help get rid of cellulite? of course this is on top of a low glycemic diet and adequate nutrients, with weight training.
is this also a myth, walking lunges helping to "lenghten" the muscle help reduce cellulite? improving dynamic flexibility and neural efficiency.
one more thing. diet has a key role, but doesn't refined flour have a higher likelihood of adding cellulite? is this because it has a higher glycemic index hence more of an insulin response or are there other reasons.

I have a large "dimple" on my right thigh which is very noticeable when posing. I've dieted down to 12% also and aiming for 8% for a competition coming up. The dimple is still there and doesn't usually disappear until I am at 5-8% (I know this from a previous competition).
BUT - when I add back the weight - it comes back as well. IMO it is very genetic and unless you plan on staying at 8%, you will probably just have to put up with it. You can keep more from showing up by keeping your diet clean and staying fit. At least, I haven't gotten any new ones since I've started bodybuilding.
Lunges can help tighten it up a little, I do 5 sets of 15 every other day. I also do a lot of elliptical type cardio and walking uphill on the treadmill at a brisk pace. Creams DO NOT work.
Good Luck!

I have the same problem, although my fat's not as low as yours....I find that the greatest improvement always follows when I drink alot of Water in my day to day, and lunges uphill on the treadmill....I can't get technical now, but I'm pretty sure it has alot to do with genetics and water retention. The genetics I can't help with (just means you have to work harder ): ) - but the water retention can be helped...For me (but different for everyone), really low carb (absolutely NO bread or potatoes - only low glycemic veggies), a clean natural diet (very hard, but a must), and WATER!!....Also, stretch! Stretching always makes me LOOK better, weather I had any real gains or not....watch sodium intake if you retain water - do not take water pills! This is not natural, and I've had bad results and allergic reactions to the amount of vitamin B's (think leather like skin, and a red mask on my face from eating brocolli on the same day)....Also, not sure if you drink it, but I♥coffee before working out! Can't even imagine heading to the gym without a cup, and I read somewhere that this can be considered water intake if you don't use sugar....Lastly, Supplements: I haven't been able to keep up on the supplements the way I would like cause they are so damn expensive! But there are several quality thermogenics on the market that do exactly what they advertise if you maintain an active lifestyle and follow a healthy diet - my favorite is Red-line Hardcore, as well as the previous version of red-line, and when funds are low, Bronchaid...Thats all....Hope this helps and gives more insight....GOOD LUCK!

Creams do not work is completely true! as far as lunges, for me to see results, I do 6 sets of 32 walking lunges uphill, with 30 seconds of walking in between.....AND my body reacts really well to all other weight training...I do this every other day immediately following cardio on an arc trainer when my legs are good and warmed up....
