I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this but I get up and ride my recumbant bike about 6 days a week before my son gets up.I have some sleeping problems and it helps wake me up and when I get to the gym about 5 days I usually only have about a half hour which I use for weight training.

I was doing 30 minutes but lately have been doing 20 minute Hitt.

I know I'm probably losing muscle but need someone to tell me!

You could definitely be losing muscle. Last I read, HIIT should be done 3-4 times/week. Any more than that, and you're probably not resting enough. If you don't rest enough, you won't build muscle = overtraining. And, your body will use your muscle for fuel during that HIIT if you are overdoing it.

Plus, 5 days of training at the gym? Could this be overtraining?

thanks for your advice, the reason it's 5 is because often i have to be in and out in15 to 20 minutes, usually only time to get in one bodypart.Sometimes it's 4 if I have more time.

btw my bodyfat is 12 percent so would that make it more likely I'm burning muscle?

Again I feel like I know this but need a slap on my head!

also I do the cardio in the morning before I eat, would getting a small amount of protein in on top of my glutamine help?

If you're at 12% bodyfat now, what are you trying to achieve? You might be better off doing some weights in the morning, and doing cardio 3 times per week.

12% bodyfat....the ladies in my gym would kill for that! LOL...

You could probably reduce the cardio without a problem.

It's so hard not to over train for me! I do everything all the way....or not at all. That's something that is really hard for me to change. And btw, I would also kill for 12% body fat! I will be there!
