Ok so, if you have competed, or helped those that compete, I could use some thoughts/help etc.

For many many many years I have always wanted to try my hand on stage. But in 2008 I had a defibrillator implanted in my chest. So yes I have a box that sticks out. Since then, I really did not put much thought into it. Well this past year I have hit the gym harder, (not as hard as I should) but I have but more time and effort into it, and well it has sparked that flame of getting on stage again. But my box worries me...as it sticks out...a few BB that I work out with and have competed say go for it and let it be an inspiration for others.

So here is my question...is six months really enough time to put it all together and make it happen? I am at 222 to 225 depending on the day and am at 14 to 16% BF depending on who is pinching me....I would like to add more size but do I have the time to do it and still cut in time?

Is it possible to bulk for the next couple of months and then start to cut?

Thoughts?

six months is only 24 weeks (roughly...) some competitors take that kind of time to diet down to contest shape. a decent amount of time for a prep diet is ~20+ weeks so you can take it slow and have plenty of margin for error. i dont' ever make presumptions, but if you are natty 6 months would be time enough to maybe put on a few lbs of lean mass. basically what i'm saying is if you are set on the 6mo. time frame then your best bet would be to start thinkin of dieting soon
