any tips, or things I should avoid. Draft strategies. I have been doing my research, but it is my first time, I know RB's good early in draft.

any decent tips will be appreciated and rewarded.

PPR? Standard scoring?

-As far as draft, draft BPA the first 3-4 rounds then you can worry about filling in positions...

-Don't draft your kicker or defense until the last two rounds

-Late rounds you should draft high upside guys over guys with low ceiling, high floor. i.e. Randy Moss over a guy like Kevin Walter. Jacquizz Rodgers over a guy like Brandon Jacobs...etc

-Go try some mock drafts on Yahoo and report results back. We wil critique.

Best advice is to run several mocks.

Last year was my first season and just a few mocks helped a ton for the draft. Luckily most of us in my league had never played either, so I had a big advantage.

Just because someone is a big name or a great player doesnt necessarily mean they score a lot of fantasy points. When in doubt, look at the cheat sheets, but dont rely on them solely.

have a plan, not anything specific but generally know what positions you want for the first few rounds.

assuming you don't know what pick you have yet, try to have different mocks at different positions. I mess around with early first round, mid and late - and of course I like to experiment with QB first/Calvin first etc etc.

Other than that, just read around here, maybe go on a few sites to see some common names that keep popping up. Your first season you're gonna learn a lot, prob gonna spend a lot of time on the waiver wire.
