Hi everyone! I figured our group should have a thread so we can ask each other questions that may not be important enough to bother asking Tom.
Please share your questions and give your input! Questions don't even have to be HRT related.
I'll start: how do I make a training video if I'm training solo?

I watched a video of someone who took the video themselves during this process (I don't remember who) but they turned on the camera and set it down and went and did the exercise and came back to the camera and turned it off. Now I know I am going to feel silly doing this at the gym but Oh Well... Who cares what people think right? Esp when in 12 weeks I will be able to kick anyone's booty! haha jk

Yeah, if you have a phone, tablet, iPod, etc. you should be able to use its (if it has one that is) visual recording app/software. My iPod does. So, you'd just position it so the camera is on you, hit record, hit your sets, then stop recording. I also have a Sony Handycam and it has a little remote to it.

Just moved away from there... well in Maryland but close. Hubby was stationed at ft meade. Parents are in NOVA.

Another question: are the ladies planning to train their traps? I've avoided shrugs on purpose so the traps don't get too huge, and I figure deadlifts will hit them well enough. Any advice? How about wrist curls--do the ladies usually train forearms?

Bump--Hopefully someone will post a tutorial or something like the one for the forum formatting. I have a iPhone--assuming I am able to get the video clips of my workout--how do I piece them together into one video?

I NEVER train Forearms. I don't think it's really necessary.. I do traps sometimes.. but not that much.

In regaurds to the videos, almost all computers come with software, like Windows movie maker etc. you have to play with it till you get it right. I just taught myself last week and I already have a couplle up on my thread. I know there was a question about ladies training traps and forearms. I have friends that are both fitness professionals and lady bodybuilders and they pretty much agree to train it all, you dont have to go heavy and the only way your truly going to grow is to use consecutively heavier wights or by breaking down the muscle. Using lighter weights will if nothing else give the muscle a good stretch and at least help with that selection of fibers. My other point is you will run into problems later if you have week traps and forearms as they suport other muscle groups such as back for lats biceps and triceps for forearms.

I set my flip or phone up in a corner or against something. It works but I get some looks lol.

Thanks for the info! I'm going to work forearms today--haven't done that in over a decade, so it should be fun!

Well as far as traps go, I really don't think a woman can get them too awful big unless they're taking lots of testosterone. I guess it's good to be on the safe side though. Allie Rasin (SP?) on the girls gymnastics team at the Olympics had fairly large traps and she still looked great. Just my opinion.

We do not have the hormones to build BIG HUGE muscle like men do.. so I wouldn't worry about it. I just work on main points for figure and try to build as much as I can. Without taking steroids, we as women are not gonna get too BIG!!! But dang it.... i'm trying! LOL!

Yes in the videos section of the Animal Training thread there are a couple that Tom did. But you dont really need a video it 8 regulr reps then 6 slow 5+count negatives per set. So if I was doing bench I would do 8 then hold it up and let it down slowly for say a 5 count then push it back up. Do this for 6 "negative" reps and 1 set is done. Most exercises has a warmup or 2 then 2 sets of 8+6negs. Any questions hit me up.

I've trained either specifically. Closest thing to wrist curls I've ever done is Zottman curls when I do arms. I wish I could offer more insight.

So true! Addiction is the right word. I'm already feeling withdrawal symptoms since tomorrow is just cardio--a whole day without HRT lifting. What will I do???
