Hi everyone! I am so excited for this and it came at a perfect time for me - cause I'm 12 weeks out from my figure show! This will be exactly the motivation and encouragement I need. I am super excited to get lean, which is the best feeling EVER and looking forward to getting RIPPED as Hell! Hoping I have gained some muscle since I last competed last November. I'm new to posting in forums here on BB.com but I'm sure I will get it soon. I took my before pics today and will do measurements tomorrow. Good luck to everyone!

Okay .EDIT time.. adding more ... I forgot to tell you a little about myself. LOL! I am a 43 year old mom of two teenagers, been married for 20 yrs, and I'm a full time nursing instructor at a community college. I am passionate about lifting weights, biking outside, & love cooking clean food and trying new clean recipes. I teach OB nursing and women's health mostly. A few years ago, got my Masters in Nursing and women's health nurse practitioner, but am not practicing as that. I also am a AFAA Certified Personal Trainer, teach group cycling classes and a weight lifting class at the Y called "Lift Like A Girl." I learned how to lift in college almost 25 yrs ago as I worked at Gold's Gym. Always admired and loved fitness and women into bodybuilding (like Cory Everson) but didn't ever think I would actually DO it someday! :) So didn't lift regularly when my kids were little and became a cardio bunny. Finally when I was nearing 40, I joined Buffmother.com and was in a 10 wk competition there and ended up winning and losing like about 30 lbs and 36 inches. Have felt awesome and kept it off for 4 yrs now. It has completely changed my life!!! BF went from 28.9% to 16.3%. Since then, I have competed in figure 4 times and have my 5th show coming up November 3rd. I feel very fortunate to have found Buffmother and the sport of figure. Many of the Buffmothers are my best friends... we think alike! (like many of us ladies here too! Sometimes it feels like others not into lifting and fitness do not understand) So I love motivating and inspiring others... that is the best part of this. I have been off work for the summer and start back on Tuesday so my life is about to change... getting BUSY! But I am determined to rock this Hell Raiser Training and prep for my competition! Cannot wait to compete again! It's an amazing feeling to make it to the stage after all the work and dedication. Love it! Looking forward to meeting you all and supporting you along the way. Hi! I'll be following your journal closely. I've read about ladies prepping for figure compeitions, but never followed along during the journey before. I look forward to learning some things from you, especially things like how you fit your lifestyle in with your family and work. BTW I looked at your profile and read your story--awesome work!

How have you kept it off? I am such a yo-yo weight loss person.... lose 30 pounds... gain 20... lost 15... gain 15... I HATE it and it needs to stop.

So excited to be able to follow you through contest prep also... it will give good insight for those of us thinking of competing at some point. : )

Thanks for all your help to me already! I have been able to keep it off for 4 yrs now! Added muscle too...that is just a slow process, but it does happen! Just takes a big support network (like this) and competing also really keeps you motivated too. I have sponsors too... So that is big motivation right there!

OKAY Day 2 Hell Raiser Training.... Seriously...this is a BAD week for this to begin. My GYM is closed and they are remodeling.. getting $32,000 worth of new weights. 34 new cardio machines too.. My college's (where I work) gym is only open 5-7 pm in the evening this week. Didn't make it tonight before 7. Worked too late. First day back to work from being off all summer. I did do my cardio tonight and it was KickA$$! lol! I did HILL SPRINTS, Uphill froggy jumps, Uphill deep lunges. Hill Sprints are what I have used in the past pre - comp to get my hammies to pop and lean out the bootay! Ugggghhh ... always the last to come in for me.. GLUTES AND HAMMIES!!! Jogged a little, walked a little, and best of all, had my dog with me.... He loves it and he needs to lose about 15 lbs. Feeling awesome just from cleaning up my diet a bit. LOVE LOVE LOVE the feeling of a tight, sculpted core. BEST. FEELING. EVER!!!!! It's amazing what just a day or two of sparkly CLEAN eating will do. Did great with my diet today.... Drank a ton of water too! TOMORROW's plan is to do LEGS.. HELL RAISER STYLE! Gonnna find that gym from 5-7pm. Love watching everyone's videos and reading their Hell Raisin' Workouts. That's another GOAL.. make my first VIDEO! ( It's all a learning experience using these forums for me. ) I did SHOULDERS with my son helping on some of the negatives last night. We have an EzBar at home and DBs from 8's to like 55 lbs so used DBs on some of the moves too. I just don't work out as well from home. I'm such a GYM GIRL! Plus, I 'm just learning this HELL RAISER METHOD. I'm still feeling some soreness in my bootay from Sunday's LEG workout though, a little soreness in my shoulders but not ENOUGH! I'm almost ALWAYS sore from my workouts..and I LOVE THAT!

This is what I did last night:
Seated Front Raise with EZBar 8x20 (+weight of Ez Bar) then did 4 negs x 2 sets
DB Side Lateral Raises 8x15 / 4 negs x 2 sets
BB Front Raise 8x10 / 4 negs x 1 set / then a set with just EZ Bar 8x Bar and 4 negs
Upright Raise 8x15 / 4 negs x 2 sets
One Arm Bent Lat Raise 8x20 / 4 negs x 2 sets
EZ Bar Bent Over Rows 10x30/ 4 negs x 2 sets

That's it but I'm sure with more practice on the neg sets it will get better. GYM OPENING AGAIN ON SATURDAY & I FLIPPIN CAN'T WAIT!!!!! Thanks for everyone's support!!!! We are gonna so ROCK THIS and see BIG RESULTS!!! I am excited!

Well I did my first ever video doin WurK last night.. LOL! LEGS to be more specific. My son is going to help me edit and try to post it.... lol! Friends on Facebook have told me I should do a workout video clip before.. I guess this is good motivation to learn how to do one. THANK YOU Mrs.HH for your help with everything! Made it to the gym at the college where I work the last two nights. YAY I me! I am so missing my gym this week. (They are remodeling and adding new equipment so closed x6 days this week). BOO! The gym was all empty at the college. ALLLL MINE! Gotta love that. It's actually a good gym for doing legs. I will have to add my leg workout later... I must have left my workout log book in my office at work. So this afternoon, started feeling DOMs in my QUADS!!! YESSSSSSSSS! Nothing makes me more happy than having that burn in my legs or bootay knowing that i KILLED em! :) LOL! (You guys would understand that) Feeling my hip flexors from hill sprints, froggie jumps uphill and uphill side lunges that i did the other night. LOVE doing HILLS! Intervals...the only way to go.. Doing the most work in a short period of time. I walk and jog a little with my dog and let him off the leash when I do my HILLS. That way he can RuN around and do what dogs do. So tonight... this is what I did for upper body. Again, this week is just way off not having my gym open, but it's working! Only 2 more days..... and my gym should be open again.

DB Flies on Flat Bench 8x20/4 negs x2 sets
DB Decline Bench 8x20/4 negs & 8x30/4 negs x2 sets
Bicep Curls (using triceps bar) 8x20/4 negs x2 sets
Reverse Curls (triceps bar) 8x10/4 negs x2sets
Lying DB Triceps Extensions 8x15/4 negs & 8x20/4 negs
Tricep DB Kickbacks kneeling on side of bench 8x15/4 negs x2
Am going to take my dog for a light jog/walk for cardio. Not able to use an eliptical or do spinning since gym closed......booo! And the college gym stayed open later just for me tonite... :) but not long enough for me to do a cardio machine...
EATS have been great today. I was very busy at work and ate my chicken breasts cold and it didn't bother me one bit. Been eating a lot of egg white/veggie muffins too on the run. PROTEIN, PROTEIN, baby! A lot of greens too! Love it! Thanks to everyone for all the support and motivation! We've SO GOT THIS!

Well my gym had to DELAY the RE opening date!!!!!!!!!!!!! BOOOOO! It was supposed to open again on the 18th but is now opening tomorrow on the 20th and I'm gonna be there at opening time! I can't wait to see it! Working LEGS using Hell Raising with a girlfriend! Ya!!! Been a crazy weekend.. out of town both Saturday & Sunday. Had a 8 hour round trip ride in the car today.. fun fun! Good thing about having a day off is that the next day back I'm READY TO KILL IT and work very hard! Good night! Everyone is doing awesome! PROUD of you all!

I was going to my 25 year class reunion last June in the pic... Yeah on the way there I was talking to a girlfriend who competes too.. and was thinking.. OH my gosh.. Asked her how old she was and she was gonna turn 24 the next day! WOW!!! UNREAL... I don't feel this old! LOL! Goes to show you... People in fitness and competitors just bond and have a lot of in common.. doesn't matter the age! :)

WOW!! You guys have NO IDEA how much time I have spent working on this little ONE minute video! OMG!!!! The song had a copyright or something (thanks Brad..for helping me!) Does anyone have an iphone they use for videos and an editing app for iphone? I'm looking for one.. that would make this so much easier! lol! I taped it last week at the college gym. My son helped me with it last night on the macbook. I video-ed it with my iphone..uploaded, and so on! It took ONE hour to load and he said it always has for him too! SO now I just have to do my little talking video. but just excited to have gotten this on here! With sound even. hahaha! It's funny... my first one. Promise I will improve. lol!

SO.. challenging WEEK i had. The ONE week of the year that the gym ever closes.. and it was the first week of Hell Raiser Training. NICE! lol! I was able to work out with weights once at home, and a couple times at the college gym where I work. (hours were minimal that is was open because school was not in session yet) And I did HILL SPRINTS two nights. Did a little jogging / walking with my dog a couple other times..but that's it. Then my gym delayed opening by two days because they didn't get everything done on schedule!! (I was OOT both days of the weekend, but I would have gone on Sat am!!) It just opened up again yesterday! LOVE IT! NEW weight room though, pretty much... it's NICE! I will have to share pics or video. hahaha Now that I'm such a pro... NOT! LOLOL! We got 34 new cardio machines.. too. $38,000 of new free weight equipment. yay! IT's a Y but definitely the nicest gym in our town and nicer than most Y's. I was one of the first in the door Monday AM at 5 when they opened...ya better believe it! lol! Well I am just so glad it is back open! Tonight I teach spinning class.. dying for that again too! Those students better be ready to raise some HELL cause I'm ready to kill it! lol! Will post my check in later today! Have an awesome Tuesday!

OKAY.. finally figured out the video/You Tube thing and check in accomplished last night so now I'm gonna share my workout from last night and how things are going.
Worked out with a friend that is interested in HRT too and filmed my next video. Enjoying the new gym equipment and weights! Yay! SO APPRECIATIVE of my gym this week after having it closed for a week. Killed it in spinning class last night. Told my students they were IN FOR iT since I hadn't spun for way over a week! (taught spin 3x per week all summer 0515am.. HELLO.. EARLY!) Now that school is in and I'm teaching again, it's back to once per week for teaching spinning. I will sub and take the class maybe 1-2 times per week too. Love it for cardio. :) Eats were pretty good yesterday except I had a trigger food last night.. chocolate almonds! I'm BAD with those... like they are so good... just hard to stop! LOL! I don't know why I even buy those things! [I know, cause my daughter loves em too! WELL SHE NEEDS TO EAT THEM! bahaha!] Otherwise, I was good on my protein = had two protein shakes, some white fish (Swai i believe), egg white muffins, hard boiled egg whites too. The diet is really about what I'm used to doing. Have been eating a lot of fish the last few weeks. It really seems to help you lean out from what I have found. Just don't want to overdo it. Variety is the key! Yesterday my variety of proteins was not that great but today will be better! For greens, I had asparagus, green & red peppers, a cucumber, and a little spinach in my egg white muffins too. My carbs were some oatmeal banana walnut protein pancakes with SF syrup for breakfast, a kiwi, fruit in my protein shakes (blueberries, raspberries, and a few slices of frozen banana) and clean eating sweet potato fries I made last night. (love!) I love my food, love doing food prep and trying new great recipes and I especially LOVE how AWESOME it makes me feel when I stick to it!! Definitely the hardest - but most important part of this! So here's what we did for last night's workout:

Cardio Today: Taught spinning class = 45 min - 15 miles! Energy to BURN!!! Had a kick butt playlist! Intervals big time... and some steep climbs :D

HELLRAISER SESSION I. Shoulders and Arms:
Seated Front Press 8 + 4 HC (55lbs) x 2 sets
DB Side Lateral Raise 8 + 4 HC (12.5lb DBs) x 2 sets (Video for Week 2 done on this one...)
BB Front Raise 8 + 4 HC (10lb + EZ Bar -15lbs?) so total of 25lbs?) x 2 sets
BB Curl 8 + 4 HC (10lbs + EZ Bar - 15lbs = 25lbs) x 2 sets
Reverse BB Curl 8 + 4 HC (10 + EZ Bar = 25lbs) x 2 sets
(i don't usually do much wrist work..so skipped those) Was walking out of the gym and just HAD to put my stuff down and do ONE MORE THING... LOL! I'm such a gym JUNKIE! :)
One Arm Cross Cable Lateral 8 x 20 lbs/ 8x30lbs

Uge I bought my trigger food today... Trail Mix... the tropical fruit kind. I just eat the pineapple, mango and banana chips out of them... but it's like pure sugar! lol

Well having a much better week this week. Such a relief when I got those videos on you tube and UP. lol! Now my next video is done... I didn't realize that with SOLO HRT you do more reps, 6.. I have been using the printable workouts & didn't realize it wasn't 4 HCs. Is that correct? Please someone help me.. lol! I was doing a killer set of shoulder raises though.. with a partner so 4 is ok for HCs? Did back last night and feeling it today! yay! Love those DOMS! Today didn't make it off work in time before the gym closed so this ended up being the day off. Guess I haven't had one since Sunday so that's ok. If I'm home on the weekend, I love to kill the workouts since I have more time and can enjoy it. I did kind of have a problem with not feeling the best yesterday..but with cutting carbs to 75 and I donated blood on Wednesday night, so was kinda feeling that too. I don't think I will donate when I'm in comp training ever again. I'm O neg and with the shortage lately, they call me all the time. NOW they can't for awhile. My arm was a little sore too..but he didn't get it right away. The vein was poppin, it just wiggled away from him. LOL ! So after donating, 4 hrs later I did manage to do 30 min on step incline on treddy at the gym. Doing awesome with the eats this week. I have a GF I work with who is dieting and working out now, so that helps. When everyone else is teasing us about our "Healthy food" just nice to not be the ONLY one and have some support on this finally. Best thing I ever did was get my own little fridge for my office. I can just keep my clean eats right behind me and grab as I need.. Take no crap from anyone.. haha! :) Last night we went out to eat and I had an awesome sirloin steak salad. Told them NO blue cheese crumbles, and used very little balsamic vinagrette dressing. It was good! Lost 2 lbs this AM too! LOVE IT. *121.6 lbs* Amazing what really being rt on for the carbs & clean eats can do. I am getting back into my competiton jeans again. YAY! Well here is what I did for BACK yesterday...

Last thing on the WO sheet was Calves ..and I usually don't do my calves.. they are flippin huge and get a lot from all my leg work and the spinning I do.. Hope this is OK!

Uge I bought my trigger food today... Trail Mix... the tropical fruit kind. I just eat the pineapple, mango and banana chips out of them... but it's like pure sugar! lol

LEG DAY! Today I was so excited... LEGS!!!! Love it! Weight stayed the same today as yesterday.. I will TAKE IT! Hoping to get to 120 one of these days soon though.. :-) 121.6 lbs. SO for legs today... this is what I did:

I was feeling this WO... and pretty sure I will be sore!! Eats have been RIGHT ON. Using myfitnesspal to track the macros and carbs and everything.. There was a Neon Run in town tonight.. Wanted to do it, but I can't do a 5K on leg day! No way! LOVE the weekends so I can do a lot of food prep and get some killer workouts in. Love my food! Made some sweet potatoes, roasted broccoli and red peppers. More to come tomorrow. Lots of water... over 2 gallons a day that I get in. I am addicted to ICE. I am not anemic or anything.. just love the crunch of the ice. My dentist said its OK for me to eat ice..I have all crowns in the back and they are NOT gonna break or crack. LOL! Well hope you are all having a great weekend! Got my video ready to post for Monday already.. No more Tuesday night for me! Here it is.. do not laugh.. LOL!

omgggg I actually got my egg muffins to post! LARGER THAN LIFE TOO! lol! This has been my favorite way to get my egg white protein lately! I make some egg white muffins. Love em! They are good to grab on the go.. which I always am... and you can add whatever veggies ya like! I usually put green or red peppers in them and mushrooms or spinach. Then (if I remember) yaaah! I'm so excited. Now I can post pics too! lol! haha ..the small things in life. :)

THANKS for the sub! And for the recipe...I just spray a muffin tin with olive oil spray and pour liquid egg whites in there. Usually 3 Tablespoons = 1 egg white and it takes about 9 T to fill the muffin tin so... each is worth about 15g of protein. 75 calories. After I have the egg whites in the muffin tin, I just add spinach, mushrooms, peppers, broccoli or whatever and sprinkle on top with whatever seasoning..roasted garlic and bell pepper or Mrs Dash's SW Chipotle. Then I cook in oven at like 400 degrees for I think about 10-15 min. I watch to see when the centers are firm and not gooey...:-) Hope you like em! Have a great day!

I tried Dead's Cajun seasoning and hot sauce idea for the fish, and yesterday I made some chocolate peanut butter crepes for breakfast. Now I'm going to have to try those egg white muffins! I'm getting so sick of eggs at this point, it'll be nice to have'em some other way. lol

Thanks! I will check out his blog for the crepes recipe too. Wow.. thanks! My upper body is so much easier to get more ripped, the LOWER BODY on the other hand...always a CHALLENGE! I have noticed.. (which is really freakin cool.. ) each time you compete it all happens a little faster and the leaning out comes a little easier! SO I AM HOPING and PRAYING that this time will be the same case. As long as you don't gain a lot and stay with the diet in the off-season. (haha! NO OFF SEASON to me.. I treat it the whole year pretty much in TRAINING.. but allow more clean carbs. That's what really helps me and makes a big difference. cutting carbs.. and eating a lot of fish. (at least once per day.) Thanks bud... appreciate your very kind words! :)

Weight today was the same again.. 3 days at exactly 120.6. So strange how it doesn't fluctuate much at all lately. (AMAZING when you don't CHEAT!) lol ... SO tonight I taught spinning class - 45 min cardio and had a meeting to go to for my daughter tonight.. Decided to just do cardio today. I also am very sore with DOMS in chest, shoulders, and triceps. YEAH! GROW BABY GROW! That's what I'm hoping is happening today. I like to have a day "off" before I do legs, too. Well thanks (Hannah) girl, but we decided not to go to the lake! lol! It's a LONG drive and it was gonna be a short trip....too much going on with the kids and work to do on Monday...so not worth it! Bonus for the workouts and clean eating by staying home too! Bad enough that the gym is closed Monday for the holiday. But I can handle ONE DAY.. I guess! Girl, you are making this look easy! You're such an inspiration to me. I was sharing a little of your story (and the others' stories of course, my family was curious as to what this contest was and all haha) with my family over the weekend, as both my mom and sister are nurses with families and they're trying to get in shape and lead healthier lifestyles, too. Also, my mom was diagnosed with diabetes I a few years ago. I've told'em I don't know how some of you folks do all that you do in this contest with your super busy personal lives and all, but if you can do it and stay with it and get results, then there's no excuse for anyone else to not do the same! :) So amazing! bherrod doing SOLO T-BAR ROWS 90 lbs (plus machine weight) Had to do an extra set cause the guy in the gym that I had tape me had SHUT OFF the video recorder on my iphone.. lol! Next time I think I will just try the Barbell for these rows. Just a habit to use the machine! and I didn't mean to add all that music in there.... still learning on the vids! I havea complete Nutrition right down the street from me used the products a couple of times and they were good. They had a sale and sent me a 50% off coupon and when I went in they jacked the prices way up making it the same price. They have no marked prices in the store, and depending on who you get on a certain day the prices change drasticly. Whole thing is shady so I no longer shop at complete nutrition.

On the bright side you are doing awesome! I enjoy reading your motivating posts and it looks like you are going to do increadible at the competition.

Cheat meal was a delicious piece of stuffed crust cheese pizza from PIZZA HUT during Husker game! (Won't talk about THAT game though.....urrrgghhh!) LOL! Was YUMMY!

PLAN: Continue to lift Heavy! Hell Raiser Training! LOVIN' IT! I think I'm getting BEIIIIIG!!!! lol! My motto... (one of the many!) Tight diet = tight body!

QUESTIONS for Rage:
1. OK to do less than 6 days of cardio - 30 min? More like 3 days of 30 min, one day of 45 (spin class) ;-)
2. OK to do glutes/hammies one day and quads one day a week.. so like lower body WO twice per week? Trying to catch lower body more to match upper body somehow....! Any ideas/thoughts on this?? ;)

• 1 tsp / 5 ml paprika

• 1 tsp / 5 ml dried mustard
• 1 tsp / 5 ml oregano
• 1 tsp / 5 ml chili powder
• 1 pinch cayenne pepper
• 4 tilapia filets, thawed ( I use a whole bag!)

Preparation
Preheat oven to 400ºF/ 205ºC. Line your baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a medium-sized bowl combine olive oil, garlic and seasonings.
Dip each filet into the seasoning and place it on the baking sheet. (or I just pour it on top of the fish)
Pour any remaining seasoning over the filets on the sheet and place the baking sheet in the oven.

Feeling GREAT! Best compliment this week... from my husband! (who never compliments me!) He thinks I get enough compliments from facebook. LOL! WhatEVAH! Well he said on Saturday I was wearing jean shorts and he said that you can really see my muscles in my legs when I walk! SCORE! That's what I'm lookin' for! Muscles and cuts in my legs, baby! YES! :) They are coming!!! I am very moitivated and getting STOKED for my competition in 47 days! It's gonna come up quick! I'm super busy with work and kids activities right now as always.. Just get done with one thing and then there's another. That's okay! I'm lovin' it and enjoying every minute cause 3 more years and they are gone to college! Here's my workout video for the week. Will do the reflections video tomorrow. Thought I would blog my workout today since I haven't done that for TOO LONG! I did Back and Rear Delts tonight... then later tonight I did my cardio! :) Did 30 min of stairs outside. Took em two at a time (very small steps) and hopped up them and went sideways up them to..sticking out the bootay! Woo hoo...workin it! :D So this is what I did for lifting:

T-Bar Rows 8x90/8x100 +6/8x100+6/8x110+6
V-Bar Leaning Back Pull ups did 6 x4 sets
Seated Cable Rows 8x85/8x100+6/8x115+6/8x100+6/8x85+6
Free Motion Lat Pulldowns 8x80+6/8x70+6/8x70+6/8x70+6

I am calling it ROCKTOBER as I did last year cause it’s going to be an AWESOME, life changing month! Always have loved October cause it’s a big month of birthdays for my family! My mom’s birthday would have been yesterday, my brother’s birthday would have been tomorrow, and mine is in 9 days! Then my niece Ashley’s is on the 23rd too! I'm seriously happy to be turning 44! I think of it as getting better every year! and being BLESSED with another year.. always a good thing!!!! We are leaving for CHICAGO on my birthday for the Monsters of Hip Hop Dance Convention! I’m looking forward to the down time on the way there to study for the women’s health nurse practitioner certification exam some more! Yepp, still plugging away for that! That's gonna be a 6 Pack Bag trip for sure! Gonna have to pack a ton of clean food to keep me on track... iT's ESSENTIAL!!!

I am also pumped for the challenge of contest prep..the final weeks! The show is so early in November this year..it’s gonna come QUICK! November 4th!!! IT’s GO TIME NOW!!! NO TIME FOR EXCUSES… NO TIME TO SLACK! Planning for a lot of cardio, tight dieting, posing practice, lifting workouts of course, and then of course, work, home and family too!

I CAN DO THIS!!! I KNOW I CAN!!!!

Accidentally got video cut off after 4 HRT reps or something.. but I did 6! Hotel workout while in Chicago. Two a days... NO EXCUSES! Did eliptical, recumbent bike & treadmill steep hill and ran on the staircase at this 15 floor hotel for cardio for 30 min! That was awesome. Calves burn today! More later...... Loving HELL RAISER TRAINING! Weight 115.4 last couple days. One lb down after the weekend & Sunday cheat meal of turkey burger WITH the bun! Can't remember last time I ate bread, let alone a bun! Lol.

I'm going to start blogging more for these last two weeks to keep myself accountable. SO...anyway.... Starting on tilapia only for next two weeks. Might do a few egg whites if I need to, but mostly all the fish type from here on out! LOOK OUT fishie population! You are going down! lol! So yesterday i taught spin class (45 min) and personal trained someone after that... Felt hungry and not like I could do much for lifting... went home to eat and back to the gym again, but just practiced my posing. Hitting that HARD NOW! I want to feel very comfortable and confident with my T-walk and get it perfected! :) So I didn't lift yesterday..my chest is super sore from Tues night lifting, and just did legs Wed so, decided to not lift last night. My Wed workout was LEGS and here is what I did:

3 min warmup on eliptical
EZ Bar Deep Squats 10x30+8 x 3 sets (+ weight of the EZ BAR)
FRONT EZ Bar Squats 8x30 +6 x3 sets (+ weight of EZ Bar)

TWO WEEKS OUT!!! I am SO jacked up for this and anxious to compete! Work still to do so I'm actually glad I have a few days. I'm going to start blogging more for these last two weeks to keep myself accountable. SO...anyway.... Starting on tilapia only for next two weeks. Might do a few egg whites if I need to, but mostly all the fish type from here on out! LOOK OUT fishie population! You are going down! lol! So yesterday i taught spin class (45 min) and personal trained someone after that... Felt hungry and not like I could do much for lifting... went home to eat and back to the gym again, but just practiced my posing. Hitting that HARD NOW! I want to feel very comfortable and confident with my T-walk and get it perfected! :) So I didn't lift yesterday..my chest is super sore from Tues night lifting, and just did legs Wed so, decided to not lift last night. My Wed workout was LEGS and here is what I did:

3 min warmup on eliptical
EZ Bar Deep Squats 10x30+8 x 3 sets (+ weight of the EZ BAR)
FRONT EZ Bar Squats 8x30 +6 x3 sets (+ weight of EZ Bar)
SQUATS with universal bar 8x90+6/8x110 +6/8x120+6
Leg Extension machine 8x80+6/8x90+6/8x100+6
Deadlift Wide Stance up on two benches with EZ BAR 10x30+6/10x40+8/10x50+8
Lateral Lunges with EZ BAR 10x30 x 2 sets
Then I practiced my T-walk for about 15 min.

Lookin forward to the weekend! More time to train and practice posing and prep my clean food.. ie TILAPIA! lol! And greens and yams. :D Taught spin class again this am at 0530 (subbing for someone) and then practiced my posing and walk for about 30 min. Plan to lift later and even maybe do another cardio round. Lovin the endorphins! Plan to do Shoulders and Tris tonight. BIG LEG DAY on Saturday and spin class again. Hope you all have a great Hell Raisin' weekend!

Cardio (how many days per week/minutes per day): 6 DAYS! ( 3 days/30 min; 45 min x3 days and one day did two sessions of cardio.. 45 min and 25 minutes.) :D

Protein grams you’re eating per day: 150- Hard to get that more than that with just fish. Having tilapia & occasional swai 6 meals per day. Not sure if i should add egg whites or something to get more protein gms? I really am enjoying my fish with spices and the delicious greens! seriously!

Carbohydrate grams you’re eating per day: about 40 (somedays less than that.. yams pretty much only carb besides greens

Fat grams you’re eating per day:20 (avocado only - with first 5 meals)

So doing well. Sorry in the workout video in order to see me doing biceps, I stood up for the right side. I did some standing on the left side too, to even it out. Getting more EXCITED by the day to compete! My bikini was supposed to come today in the mail, and I even got an email saying it should arrive today... so HOPING and praying it arrives tomorrow. CANNOT WAIT TO SEE IT! I'm renting it. I will share a pic... :) WITHOUT me in it, of course. Gotta leave some surprise to comp day! LOL! Lots of greens in the diet now... I mix the fish with brussel sprouts, broccoli, green beans..some asparagus. Lovin my yams too for carbs! only one cup...and I try to time them right before or after the workout. Doing some AM cardio sessions when I can..otherwise getting em in at night. I really like a break in between the two for rest and recovery. Killed the glutes on Saturday... Suffered from an awesome case of DOMs especially yesterday in the glutes! YES! Ready to work the wheels tomorrow again! :) Forgot to tell you that last week I turned 44 and now get to do my videos with a new ipad I was surprised with. And I got a new 6 pack bag in PINK! Now I have the large one and the small 6 pack bag. That's why there are NO EXCUSES! Yes, I feel pretty BA sitting in the car eating COLD Tilapia....jelly and ALL! Last night I had a nice little evening at the gym. First off, I did the step mill for 6 min for a warmup. If only my body knew what I had in store for it after that. hahahaa! :) Got my suit yesterday in the mail. It is amazing!!! I love it! It's called "Monica" by Tamee Marie. She does some amazing suits!!! Looks so different on stage than this.. but LOVE it both ways!

So the squat racks were all in use so I had to re-arrange my workout.. no big deal... LOTS of things I wanted to do or had considered doing for those wheels!

Bosu Squats with DBs 10x25+6 x3 sets
Bosu Lateral Squats with DB's 8x25 +6 x3 sets.... each side
Step Ups on Bench with DB's 10x17.5lbs/10x20lbx x2 did 10 starting on rt leg, then 10 starting with the left leg - so actually 6 sets
Butt Squats on Smith Machine 10x35/ 8x25 +6/8x35+6/8x40+6
SUMO Squats 10xwith universal bar only (warm up) 8x70+6/8x70+6/8x90+6 (plus weight of the universal bar) Not going too heavy.. a little carb deprived lately and don't want to BIFF IT! LOL!
Deadlifts with EZ Bar (standing on small step) 10x40/8x40+6/8x50+6 x2 (+weight of the bar)
PLYOS: Jump squats off the step (side to side) 15 x3 sets
BOX JUMPS : 15x3 sets
Then I did 20 minutes of eliptical. Really low...sticking bootay out. gotta WORK IT! LOL!
Then I practiced posing in fitness room for 30 min. I have to do a T-walk...so getting that down. It is so important to be able to ROCK it up there on that big stage!!! :D SOOOO EXCITED!!

I seriously don't mind the tilapia and greens that I eat. I'm just so thankful for Tosca's Keep It Tight recipe! It really makes those fishes taste pretty awesome! Especially mixed with some of those awesome veggies! Been eating a lot of broccoli, green beans, and brussel sprouts mixed with them, as well as roasted asparagus (another Tosca recipe I LOVE!) Also been eating a lot of cucumbers raw and adding avocado to my fish/veggie meals too. Hardest part is keeping ahead of yourself by a few meals at least..so they are ready to go and prepared! I need to get another big 2 lb bag of tilapia tonight or else i will run out again. Using some egg whites now too to make sure I can get my recommended allowance of PROTEIN! I just can't do 7-8 servings of fish per day. 6 is it! :) Never have been an avocado eater but they are fine... Don't mind them at all mixed with everything else. LOL! Water keeps going down well. Usually 3 gallons per day. Got 2 down so far today. I didn't make it up early this am to get my cardio on, but just went over the lunch hour. Thought I would share my WO... MOJO IS HIGH! I thought I would blog what I did for Thursday and Friday's workouts here to catch up! OK..so Thursday...didn't make it up early! Was up too late night before! (story of my life!) LOL! So I did something I usually don't - lunchtime cardio! I did 30 min of intervals... sprints on treddy and step hills. It was good! Hoping to get that testosterone going and get my leg muscles to POP! GO TIME NOW!!!
Then after work I had a PT appt. (LAST ONE til after the show) TOOOO BUSY right now! lol! Then I did BACK/REAR DELT WO. I am worried about losing size in my shoulders before the show. Coach Tom tells me as long as I'm getting all my protein in, I will not. PLUS, HEAVY and strong WORKOUTS required!/ ha!

SO I did the following:
T-Bar Rows 8x90+6 / 8x100+6/ 8x100+6
Bent Rows with EZ-Bar 8x40+6 / 8x40+6 / 8x50 +6
V-Bar Leaning Back Pull Ups 8/6/6/6/

Ok for Friday----- I was lucky enough to get asked to sub for SPINNING at 0530. YOU BET! That's one way to get this bootay out of bed at 5am! lol! So did that, then worked a bit, then to OMAHA for Football Playoffs for my kids. My daughter was dancing at halftime. Have a ton of stuff to do at work, will miss next Friday due to competition.. BUT this friend at the gym who is a security guard at the high school told me something that made quite an impression on me... "Your kids are not going to be this age much longer....." O M G!!! I am such a softie... I had to make it work! So, my hubby and I both went and brought DS and 2 of his buddies. It was SO COLD but so worth it. AWESOME to see the game and our DD DANCE at the big stadium. Brought my new pink 6 pack bag with my food in it.. That helped. Also had a spinach salad at Subway for lunch. I still love that cold tilapia, asparagus, avocado, & green beans though! lol! So then last night.. this is what I did: am a little SORE all over from back and legs are a little sore still too...but gotta keep it strong so did the BEYOND 300 Workout. It's my favorite and only takes 30 min! (Not gonna put weight in..takes too long! ) It's a timed workout. I kept trying to go as heavy as I could on the reps, so changed up the weight frequently. Fastest I have ever done it is 25 min I believe... took me 30 tonite. That's OK. I'm depleting! LOL! It's a fun change up when you are pressed for time or not sure what to do...works it ALL! :D

Wide Grip Asst Pull Ups x25
One Arm Clean and Press x25 each side
Box Jumps 50
Lying Leg Raise with DBs x50

Then practiced a bit for posing.. Got up for 8:30 spinning again today! YEAH! Up late prepping food. That keeps me so busy! Started getting microwavable bags of veggies. Helps with time and less dirty dishes too! ROCK IT this weekend! And the rest of the challenge! We can do ANYTHING for 9 more days! No PROB! ALMOST THERE!! For me in my competition, and this amazing Hell Raiser Training CONTEST!!! WE CAN DO THIS!

I love doing legs on the weekend! When I'm rested & have more time to enjoy it! Lol! So today I did 45 min spinning class at 8:30am, then what I call 'Michelle's (BUFFMOTHER)'s Cheeks Challenge wo. :-).
Squats - 4 sets of 8 & 4 sets of HellRaiser Negs (6reps x each set)
Dead lifts same. 4 sets of 8 with 4 neg sets too (x6)
Forward lunges - up on step 10 reps per leg starting x4
Walking lunges with BB - 15 steps per leg x2
Bulgarians - 3 sets of 8 with 6 negs per set
Squat jumps off step 15x3 sets

Feeling great! Weight has been 114.2 for six days! Doesn't budge! It's so strange! Eats are right on! Tilapia tilapia tilapia with a ton of greens & avocado! Water water water!! I'm pumped for this!! Thanks for reading!!

THIS IS IT!!! DAY BEFORE MY SHOW!!!! AHHHHHHH!! SO EXCITED ... SO MUCH TO DO!!! Glad my poly is DONE! Did that on Wednesday. YES, Halloween night. When all the good boys and girls were out trick or treating.. I got my poly! lol! Had to drive 2 hrs to Omaha to get there and home all in the same night. Love it. lol! But anyway.. my levothyroxine is a banned substance! WOW!!! But I do have a medical diagnosis to support it. I have hypothyroidism so got a note from my nurse practitioner saying so. Yeahhh I'm SO HUGE.. gotta be from that thyroid hormone. LOL! I had my hair done already this am. Gotta sleep lightly on it so it stays good and poofy! lol! Won't be as much to do it tomorrow now hopefully. Leaving town at 2pm picking up my friend from here, Mary, who is going with me. She wants to compete someday so will be an awesome opportunity to her to see behind the scenes! lol! Three other GFs are coming that plan to compete someday! And even a couple guy friends coming that I think want to compete too! Love it! I have a lot of enthusiasm for this sport and hard to contain myself sometimes. That's what I look forward to as much as competing, seeing the other competitors and hanging out with others like ME! LOL! Pics will be taken again for Rage right before I leave today. Then tanning right when we get there at 4pm. Then check in at the event. I will get measured as we go by height. I will get my tshirt and comp packet. There is a posing seminar at the gym tonite with the judges there too. Getting last minute pointers. AWESOME for a new competitor especially. Well feeling awesome!! JUST EXCITED! Oh my gosh!! Had a BLAST!!! Loved the comp prep from Rage! It was the best!! He really knows his stuff & I love his style! Felt great going into it! Your support, & everyone's here ... Has meant a lot to me!!! Love it! Sad to see this end! Will definitely have to keep in touch through BodySpace & Facebook. You're the da bomb, Jodie!! ;-). Girls rule here, ya know! Lol!

It's OVER!! Well had an awesome weekend at the competition! It started off with my hair appointment in the AM. Got it highlighted and all fixed, hoping it stays pretty well for the Saturday competition! Then lots and lots of packing... Took my last set of progress pics for Coach, tried to upload them to photobucket and of course they didn't go... urrrggghh! Had to leave to make my tanning appt! SO did get a few to load, then my friend & helper Mary, and I were off to Omaha for the amazing competition adventure! Two hour drive.... then the first thing to do was get my first coat of tan on at the host hotel. Met my beautiful Buffmother friends Lisa and Katie, as our appointments were all at once. Then we went to check in at the registration at the gym. Got my t-shirt, got measured for height as we are put in height classes. 5 foot 3 inches. Ordered a judges score card and a video of the show too. Gonna use that to help me improve for my next one. :D Then we went to Lisa's. Ready for a quiet night and some rest before the big day! SOOOOOOO Flippin EXCITED!!!!!!!! Had a carb load of yams today of 150gms. LOVE MY YAMS! !I always cut them up into slices and bake them like Tosca's Sweet Potato Fries.. lots of spices. (Man, I'm a TOSCA Girl all the way!) Lucky that's probably my favorite carb, and Rage's too... so that's what I get! lol! Continue eating my greens and Tosca's Keep It Tight Tilapia about every 3 hrs. I have a few sprigs of asparagus in most all of my meals too. Taking a water pill, The Water Pill from Complete Nutrition the last few days. Today I only got one gallon of water! That killed me. I was so thirsty! I'm used to drinking 2 gallons and had 3 gallons a day this week of water. I really love ice and love the cold water! So got my nails done tonight and everything set out for the am so I can be READY bright and early! Talked to Coach one last time before the show. He's so encouraging and gives me more confidence! SO nice to know he's there if I need anything! Freaking AWESOME! Had a hard time getting to sleep. SO JACKED UP for this! Omg.... I have been planning and waiting for this since... well, about a year ago when I last competed..at this same show! :D Soooo, tossed and turned...worried about my hair getting messed up, worried about my tan getting messed up, worried about getting my tan on my friend's son's bedsheets...lol! (even though I was trying to be in my sleeping bag...) LOL! I was restless! Tried to sleep with my legs up on a stack of pillows... tried to quit worrying about WHO ALL was gonna show up at the show.. who the competition would be. What if I forgot my routine in my T-Walk, forgot what I was supposed to do, was bloated, was too flat, blah blah.. you name it.. I worried about it! LOL! Finally just crashed! I was so dry.. so thirsty too when I was trying to go to sleep. Seriously, next time I do a comp, I should see about taking melatonin, or tylenol PM or something if allowed. I get soooo jacked up for this! Probably the caffeine from the water pills too, I imagine! So, got up at 4:30 to get ready for this amazing day! Hair fixed and make up on and to get second coat of tan at hotel. They were running behind..but no fear... while waiting we ate our breakfast! For me, cold tilapia, asparagus and broccoli once again. :) This coat of tan was super dark and very nice! LOVE our tanning girls from KC. They ROCK! Then to the venue, the Orpheum for the competitors meeting at 7:30am. Competitor #16, that's ME! Got our numbers, and they checked our suits to make sure they were appropriate and not G-strings or whatever. LOL! After the meeting, had a little time to finish getting ready and the shine on our tans, etc. I think I should have carbed up a little more before the first part of the judging. I always look better the later it gets, as I have had more carbs. Restricted to 8 oz water before/with prejudging and 8 oz with the night show. That was tough. I just brought a 16 oz water bottle and told myself this had to last me ALL DAY! Sips only pretty much. Had my pink 6 pack bag all prepared and full of my food. Handful of Skittles before going on stage, as per Coach Rage's instructions. Followed his plan to a "T." He knows what's going on and is VERY GOOD at this! I had a lot of trust and faith in him and his plan for me. Carbed up with yams... of course and kept them in baggies of 50gms so I could keep track of my intake. 150 grams total for the show day (75 gms before pre-judging and 75 before night show as well. I got 2 T of Almond butter today too... I like it on rice cakes, brought celery too but used the cakes instead. I was prepared with so much food! Had 3 meals ready to go too in my 6 pack bag. Gosh... LOVE THOSE bags! (I have big one and the little pink one!) SO judging went soooo long! I was in 5 classes so lots of posing for this girl! This is really two shows put together.. one is a USA PRO QUALIFIER and the other is a regular show. The judging lasted from 8:30 am til 2pm! After that, went to eat with Mary and Lisa and to Lisa's house for a power nap! LOVE THAT! I have to get some rest in the afternoon between shows. I guess I fell asleep for maybe 30 min cause I missed a few text messages..lol! Up and at em and back to the show for the competitors meeting at 5pm. Show started at 6pm. I had SOO many friends at this one! I kept forgetting all the people that were there, there were so many. I'm totally flattered and feeling so lucky to have so many people that are interested in this and cared enough to come cheer me on! They all see how excited I am about it and want to see what the heck it is I do! lol! Packed a lot in my awesome ANIMAL BAG!!!!

So had a great time hanging with the figure and bikini girls backstage. We had the most fun girls in our dressing room EVER! LOVED IT! We made good use of our time together and took a TON of pics.. Had a blast and totally bonded! One of the best things about competing is the friendships you make with the other competitors. I just love it! We all wanna compete in the same show next time too! SO this show went on forever and lasted til MIDNIGHT!!! I ended up getting ....drumroll please..... lol!

Yay! Got two super cool huge medals and a figure beast trophy! lol! Kinda nice to get medals cause I have a TON of trophies just like it from my other 4 shows. LOL! Running out of room on our shelves! Was an after party that we would've loved to go to, but not many going since it was past midnight! SO found a place open close to Lisa's house, Taco Bell and got a chicken quesadilla, a beef steak taco and a little cookie sandwich with frosting in it. I wish I hadn't eaten all that! I woke up at 2am and was sicker than sick! NOT GOOD! My body is used to all these amazing foods..then trying that stuff.. NOT a great idea. Then up at 6 am again, very sick! Thankfully my husband was ready to leave early in the AM and took my friend cause she needed to get home early too...and I went back to sleep. Felt better when i woke up... I never have gotten sick like that.. from eating again. Still much better than the dehydrated SICK that I was last year after competing. I was feeling too sick to even eat much last year. I actually felt AMAZING the whole day and night and was pretty jacked up even at 2am still! Up for 22 hours.. yes maa'am! Left Lisa's after jumpstarting her Escalade with my truck.. Yes, us Buffmothers figured it out.. lol! Katie, Alyssa and I had Orange Leaf yogurt and I had FRUIT!!! :) YUM! and left town. Was tired today and my glutes and muscles are sore from posing, but feeling AWESOME! I feel good about my changes that I have made in this last year... felt that I brought my best, even though I wasn't exactly thrilled with my placings at all. The competition was FIERCE! Girls from the other side of Iowa, Missouri, Kansas and Arkansas that I had never met before really BROUGHT iT this year. That's ok.. I'm ready to build more muscle and bring it to the NEXT LEVEL for 2013!!! LOVE IT! Thanks for reading.. this was Really Really LONG but that's my story!

Written Summary of Your HRT Experience:

Well I have been on Bodybuilding.com and had a BodySpace for a few years, but haven't really been that active on it. Was just checking out the forums one day and saw something about a Hell Raiser Training Contest. Thought I would ask to be in it. Looked like a very interesting program! I had never heard of it. Was SO glad to have been chosen for this contest. It has been absolutely AMAZING! I was getting ready to start heavy competition prep for my 5th Figure Competition, which I was VERY EXCITED about, by the way, but was needing more motivation and help for the training. Usually I have some good friends from Buffmother competing that help me get motivated, but for this show, I wasn't sure if anyone else was. After my last show, I knew I needed to switch it up somehow. It was a year ago this month. I had a posing coach but no real diet coach. I ended up getting really run down and did not feel good at the end of the competition night and the next day. It was a little scary! I was following the prep that other competitors had told me, and I think I got really dehydrated! After that experience, I really knew I needed a diet coach. I had NO IDEA how amazing this program would be for me! It was amazing timing... the 12 Week Hell Raiser Contest ended right after my figure competition. A perfect 12 week training program for me! :D Tom "Rage" Fuller is an awesome coach! He was so supportive, professional, and knowledgeable about the sport of bodybuilding and competition prep. Very well respected in the industry! I couldn't have CHOSEN a better coach! Loved having him behind me and there for me if I needed anything. His prep was awesome too. I have a new love for the avocado. I never really ate them before, but had them as my only fat toward the end! Loved my carb, the YAM too! I put a lot of trust in him and totally respect his method of training. I went into this competition feeling incredibly awesome, confident, and feeling strong! I felt so darn proud up there on stage last Saturday night, doing my T-Walk, while my thank you was being read... "Thanks to my Coach Tom Fuller, Universal Nutrition and bodybuilding.com for the training, and the Hell Raiser Training Group for the support!" I could not have been prouder at that moment and I'm sure people in the audience were like, "Wow.. she trained with Tom Fuller?!!!" lol!
The Hell Raiser Training Method was all new to me. I printed out the Hell Raiser Training Program Manual and workouts and put them in a purple notebook. I watched the videos on the Hell Raiser Forum from Steve, Ross, and Rage, as well as the other competitors in this contest. Watching those and having Tom critique them helped me a lot! I eventually figured out the Solo Technique and decided that would work best for me as I usually train alone. Just learning how to post videos on You Tube and use Photobucket to post pics was a learning experience for me! Thankfully I have a teenage son to help and Hannah and Brad were a huge help for me too! :) I have shared this method of training with my friends at the gym and as a certified personal trainer at the gym, I even trained a guy using Hell Raiser Training on his upper body. He is a young 24 year old guy who wants to compete in bodybuilding and so I really wanted to make him feel it. He was sweating bullets, sore for days after that workout and is now using Hell Raiser too! I have been a nurse for 20 years and am currently a nursing instructor teaching maternal newborn nursing. I am a women's health nurse practitioner but not practicing as one right now. I hope to someday work as a nurse practitioner and help others with weight management and fitness, incorporating my personal training backgroudn too. As I see it, obesity and poor diets are the etiology of many health disorders people suffer from. I LOVE inspiring others and sharing my background in helping them change their lives. Almost five years ago, I lost 30 lbs and my life has changed forever since then. It has been absolutely amazing! I'm an extremely positive person and love life and health. I want to help other women see that just because you are a mom, and are 40...or whatever age... doesn't mean you can't be HOT! Age is just a number and by incorporating weights, good sleep, and a healthy diet, you can feel awesome! I love the Hell Raiser Method of training and how it can add muscle by working the eccentric portion of the movement. That's what I need to do now, is add more muscle, but yet I want to keep it feminine and girly! I plan to continue to use this amazing Hell Raiser Training technique as I can see it WORKS. I can't wait to see how Ripped as Hell I can be for the Stage in 2013!! :D Thanks for the awesome supplements, gym bag and muscle shirt from Animal. I want to lastly give a HUGE THANK YOU to Universal Nutrition, bodybuilding.com, and the amazing Tom "Rage" Fuller for this great program! The best feeling of accomplishment ever.... just bringin' it to stage and meeting your goal. No matter what place you get... always the champion with a fit and conditioned body!
