Okay so I,ve only been doing a few excercises with dumbells and finally getting my crap together and going to hit the weights.
I am a begginer and pretty over weight so was going to start with some sort of 5x5 programme. I don't have loads of money to spend ( 2 young kids and wife!!)
Can anyone suggest stuff i should get and where from? I'm in the uk up in the north of Scotland. - No one near me seems to be selling anything second hand ( inverness)

Is it best to buy a bench and power rack in a package from the same manafacturer? How much weight should i buy to start with?

I will be training on my own nearest gym about 45 minutes drive.

Thanks

Martin

This question gets asked a lot mate. I recommend you read back a few pages or use the search before starting a post. Invariably we will always say to buy second hand off ebay. Very good racks are being sold cheap on there all the time. Your location may be a problem, but a 4 hr drive may just save you £300, so its often worth the trip.
