View Full Version : Bicep Strain vs Tear?

I'm cautious to go back to biceps or even back for lifting (just to be safe), right now because I just had an issue playing basketball. I outstretched my left arm behind me trying to block a pass. The bicep has been sore for an hour or so but I can do anything with it and it doesn't cause additional pain (it's more towards the bicep up towards the shoulder). I sprayed icy hot all over my bicep and where it meets at the elbow and shoulder. Along with that I took 800mg of ibuprofen. I also took my triflex vitapak joint supplements (on top of the 9g of omega 3-6-9 I take per day). Nothing looks different but it's just been sore for a while so I'm just taking precautions, would I know immediately if this was a tear? I have full range of motion and can flex easily, granted this was just me outstretching my arm against no resistance. Was this a minor strain I'm overblowing or could it be worse?

Edit: The ibuprofen seems like it's already doing it's job to get rid of the pain.
