Hi, I'm currently on the mission to reduce body fat, I'm 5'11 with 40% bodyfat weighing 110kg, i workout weight lifting three times a weeks (extreme sessions), including 1 day of cardio, I'm on a balanced diet, and also started recently using Whey protein & creatine, I'm using Sci Mx Lean grow whey and Sci Mx creatine at the moment, my main questions are:

1: should a fat person like me be using whey protein and Creatine

2. Also is it sensible to have Whey with water before going to sleep?

3.Should i be using fat burners?

Any other quality advice will be much appreciated! Cheers!

If you gained 3kg, you are eating too much. Eat less food. Whey is good for after a workout, but otherwise, it's not really filling enough to keep you satiated.

1: should a fat person like me be using whey protein and Creatine

Creatine Monohydrate is fine to use--it probably the best supplement on the market right now. It has a long track record for effectiveness and safety. It may add a little weight due to the muscles having more fluid, but it isn't going to add fat weight.

Whey is fine to use as a convenience source of protein.

2. Also is it sensible to have Whey with water before going to sleep?

That will spike your insulin levels, which is not what you want. I would not even advise whey with water post workout (here's an article I wrote: http://musclereview.net/post-workout-protein-nutrition/)

3.Should i be using fat burners?

There are only two "fat burners" I believe in.

The first is the ECA stack (see: http://musclereview.net/eca-stack/). Just keep in mind much of the stack's effect is in it's appetite suppressant properties. In other words, it still goes back to diet.

The second is yohimbine hcl (see: http://musclereview.net/yohimbine-hcl/). This supplement is more for that last "stubborn" fat. It is not appropriate for you at this point, but it will be once you get leaner.

Hope this helps. Send me a private message here or an email with any questions.

Cutting or bulking, it doesn't matter, never leave protein out of your diet, especially if you are lifting.

Creatine is scientifically proven to make you gain mass, due to the absorption of water into your muscles. If I were you i'd continue to take both protein and creatine as an increase in muscle mass will increase your metabolism which will allow your body to burn fat more efficiently. Also I would increase the amount of cardio from 1 day to 2 days to help your metabolism continue to process during the entire week.

One more tip would be to not step on a scale, I know its hard but just cause your not losing weight doesn't mean that you are losing fat, you could just be gaining muscle which weighs more than fat.

I concur with not stepping on the scale. Take waist measurements instead.

As you are 40% bodyfat I would not advise taking fat burners yet, I'd save them for when the fat gets harder to lose- initially teach yourself the basics about nutrition and exercising, how many calories you are consuming and how many you need to consume to create a calorie deficit and therefore lose weight. Once your on the right track and losing weight the correct way, then maybe start thinking about adding a fat burner, just remember it's a helping hand, not a magic pill.

I've heard a few of the previously fat guys on here say they wish they had lost weight slower to preserve their existing muscle mass underneath, so try to aim for 1lb a week weight loss to preserve your muscle, at 40% fat that shouldn't be too hard a level of progression.

But this I can't emphasise strongly enough - keep a record of food AS YOU EAT IT. I watched a dieting programme that concluded when writing what you had eaten at the end of the day - you forget some foods you have eaten and then underestimate how many calories you have consumed.

There are plenty of stories similar to yours in the motivation section that show what can be achieved with hard work and intelligent planning - good luck OP, you can do it, if you apply yourself. Keep looking back to the motivation section it really helps :-)

hey there. i was on a pretty bad bulk not long ago. i started cutting about 3 months ago and i've already lost 15lbs.
1) using creatine and protein on a cut doesn't really matter too much. some people will argue that creatine will hold you back on a cut because it holds water, but that just sounds silly to me cuz holding water in your muscle doesn't prevent you from losing bodyfat.
2) eating before doesn't really matter too much as long as it fits into your macros.
3) fat burners are usually stimulants and can be quite bad for your heart if you lose it for a prolonged period of time.
my advice for you would be to start counting your calories (start counting your macros, start counting how many grams of fat, protein and carbohydrates you need). as long as you are eating below your daily basal metabolic rate, you'll lose weight. just look around the forum and i'm sure someone will have an informative article on macros, cutting and etc.

Al good advice above, but I have to wonder why you only do 1 day of cardio. If your goal is to lose fat you need to do a lot more man, id advise 5 days a week. Im in much the same situation as your self in body size and bf but im doing 5 day a week weight training (intense) and five days of cardio and still want to do 6 days of cardio personally.

Im also taking whey protein and if you find your weight loss has slowed its more than likely than youve put on muscle, lost fat but it appears your the same weight. Id also advise you to get a scales that measure bf, muscle etc. I have one and when ever i see i havnt lost weight or not much, i just look at my muscle% and bf% and see whats really up.

I personally think that even if you dont take creatine it would not bother much with your fat
Besides that just eat right.. have meals 6 times a day
