I'm going to make this as simple as I can. I have been on phentermine the last month and have lost about 20 pounds, not sure if I will be on it next month (will find out tomorrow at doctor). But anyways next week I am starting my diet/workout/healthy lifestyle plan and have a few questions.

21
5'7"
200

--------------
Going to aim for:
2000 calories.
200 g protein.
200 g carbs.
3-4 days weight lifting.
Hiking a few days a week.
---------------

My top priority is to be healthier, but after that I want to loose fat, I'm already strong and honestly for my weight I carry it well and dont show it. But I want to loose fat first and foremost while still building up my muscle. Is 2000 calories enough for that? I know in past diets Ive done 1200 and had good results, so 2000 seems like a lot but at the same time I think around here its not enough...if that made any sense.

Back to the point, with the general discription I gave is that a good starting point? I figured I could start there and re-evaluate in a month or recalculate my intake needs ever 20 pounds.

Please help, I'm very confused and need some help.

Thanks, I've learned so much on here.

You're on the right track. I would stay between 1900-2000 calories daily. This should keep you moving in the right direction.

Good luck, keep going!

I noticed you didn't mention dietary fats. Be sure you are getting plenty! Don't just track protein and carbs. :)

How much fats should I be aiming for? I know olive oil is a good one but what else are good sources?

The nutrition sticky is the best way to figure out your needs. A few good sources:

Nuts (and nut butters)
Seeds (and seed butters)
Avocado
Coconut oil/milk
Eggs
