OCB False Positive on Polygraph, Any Other Similar Experiences?

Over the weekend I failed a polygraph for an OCB show. I tested extreme deception for questions regarding taking steroids in the last 7 years, taking HGH, taking substances on the banned substances list, and for taking substances I know I shouldn't be taking. I have NEVER taken anything illegal EVER. I started exercising due to a long history of heart disease in my family, and have always put health in the forefront of my training. Hell, I don't even drink/eat anything with artificial sugars regardless of being in or off season.

Anyways, I have done polygraphs in the past for natural shows, so I don't know if there is any recourse, or if there is any point in trying to get in another OCB show. I also wanted to see if anyone else has tested for a false postive on one of these tests. Any responses would be appreciated.

Damn, you always hear people questioning just how accurate polys are, especially if you're just a nervous individual. When I did my first Poly, I rattled off every little thing I could think of to the test administrator before he started asking. Obviously some people will have no clue what's actually in a lot of their supplements, but I made it very clear when I started competing in the INBF that I had waited 2 years just in case any OTC stuff I had taken in the past would have been an issue (I knew I hadn't done any AAS, but with even some fat burners being questionable, I got myself pretty nervous over-thinking the test -lol).

There's no recourse unfortunately. If the polygraph examiner tells us you failed, we can't let you compete in the show. However, we currently don't ban people for failed polygraphs. That means you can enter future shows and would be able to polygraph again. Could be with another examiner, and you could pass. Polygraphs are considered to be subjective. Honestly, I don't know a promoter or examiner who likes to fail a competitor. What we do want to do is to keep people who take banned substances out of our shows to maintain the integrity of them. I'm sorry if you truly failed a polygraph and didn't break any rules. The OCB/IFPA offers some of the best competition around, but is very serious about it's drug policy. I wish all orgs. felt the same way. Good luck to you in your future competitions.

Hey man, I'm really sorry that happened to you! I'm actually in kind of a similar situation. In a couple weeks I'm going to compete in an OCB show, and 4 years ago someone ripped me off with what I thought were roids, but it turned out to be bogus. I got ripped off and lost a lot of money, and the guy ripped off other people as well. If anything it just taught me a lesson, and after a lot of research I discovered that the stuff I was supposedly taking would have messed me up for life if it had been real. A friend went as far as getting the crap tested, and it turned out to be absolutely nothing. Furthermore, back in highschool I took a vitamin in school and a teacher saw me. I was immediately suspended from school for 10 days. The whole thing even made national news. When I signed up for the competition a few months ago, I emailed the promoter of the show and he said not to worry about it. Regardless, if I even hear the word steroid or drug, I freak out, get nervous, angry, etc. My dad was a cop in philly for a long time, and he said that all polygraphs do is measure anxiety and nervousness and stuff. It really isn't a good method for testing, but I guess it's just a deterrent for guys that use drugs and then try to compete in Natural competitions. Anyway, I'll keep you posted on what happens. Oh yeah, and I think that if you fail the polygraph you should still be allowed to compete, but be required to get a blood test or something immediately following the show. Again, sorry to hear about your luck, and hopefully you just keep your condition and kick ass at another show that's coming up or something.
