Do any you ladies take Apple cider Vinegar daily? I have never taken it but recently read up on all the benefits from it. What do you take it for? How much? Has it worked for you?

I was wondering the same thing. I was taking it AM and PM - 1-2 tbsp w/ sweetner of some sort and then chasing it with something flavored. Honestly, it tastes nasty and it stings going down. But I've heard some great stuff behind it. I did notice that I had less bloating and stomach issues when I was getting it regularly. I've just been busy lately and keep forgetting.

i don't take any pills or anything, but yes, i use apple cider vinegar in my meal 4 stir fry every night. i love it. apple cider vinegar and a cornucopia of spices. yum. the taste isn't for everyone, though, and i wouldn't force yourself to have it b/c of anything you've been reading. i use it b/c i love the flavor, not b/c i believe in all the health claims.

I just use it on my hair and to clean. I don't like the taste all that much so I don't use it unless a recipe calls for a small amount.

I used to take it for digestion. Not sure if it actually worked. What actually worked for me was that it curved sugar cravings. Nothing like a dose of vinegar in your mouth to not make you want to eat anything bad...

I just took my first "dose" ( 2tbsp) last night and WOW it is strong, just mixed in one splenda and 1/4 cup of water, but never thought about cooking with it. Buy making a veggie stir fry with my chicken and using my 2tbsp mixed in with that, do you still feel it would have the benefits for digestion and such??

I take on occasion, usually with a little juice - and swig it down. I'm ok drinking it straight (I like vinegary things!), but it's pretty rough on your teeth enamel and lining going down.

I heard that as well, figured I just take it a few days a week

try mixing the 2 tbsp of acv with some squeezed lemon and honey in 8 oz of water works fine and kills the taste

i use a lot more than 2 tbsp and never noticed any benefit to my digestion. i just like the taste. i also like balsamic vinegar and sriracha. it's a taste and flavor thing for me. if you want something for digestion, try a probiotic and/or figure out why there's a problem w/ your digestive system to begin w/. what foods you're eating are or aren't doing things.

There are alot of claims out there about ACV, from it curing cancer, preventing diabetes, to weight control. Not many have been scientifically substantiated, except that ingesting a highly acidic product like vinegar after a high glycemic meal CAN lower its glycemic level (and thereby help regulate insulin response and appetite). But there are some precautions too, the following taken from WebMD:

Apple cider vinegar is highly acidic. The main ingredient of apple cider vinegar is acetic acid. As the name suggests, it's quite harsh. Apple cider vinegar should always be diluted with water or juice before swallowed. Pure apple cider vinegar could damage the tooth enamel and the tissues in your throat and mouth. One study found a woman who got an apple cider vinegar supplement stuck in her throat. She seemed to have suffered lasting damage to her esophagus. Vinegar has been known to cause contact burns to the skin.

Long-term use of apple cider vinegar could cause low potassium levels and lower bone density. If you already have low potassium or osteoporosis, talk to your doctor before using apple cider vinegar.

Apple cider vinegar could theoretically interact with diuretics, laxatives, and medicines for diabetes and heart disease.

If you have diabetes, check with your doctor before using apple cider vinegar. Vinegar contains chromium, which can alter your insulin levels.

i didn't know this at all. i know my potassium levels are fine but w/ the osteo, this is something i'll have to research. i love apple cider vinegar. is the same true w/ all vinegars (i.e., i like balsamic and red wine too, so would switching to that be better)? i definitely use a lot. only once a day/in one meal, though. again, thanks for the heads up and i'll definitely look into the link w/ bone density.

2tbs in luke warm water plus 1/8tsp baking soda to take the acidity out - every morning for the past 3 years.
The ACV has to be raw, organic with 'the mother' to give the most benefits.
I used to suffer from joint pain all my life until the ACV. They claim it reduces inflamation in the body taking it with soda bicarb as described above. No more joint paint for me... ever... even after whilst trekking the Andes...

I really appreciate all the info girl! After hearing what everyone in this thread has to say, and doing more of my own research I think I will do the ACV "shot" I few times a week as to doing it every day.
