I have a couple of questions, what do you think works better for fat loss a low carb diet, no carb diet or to cycle carbs daily? i also now heard that some good fats actually will make you fat ie: nut butters, oils etc...This seems very strange too me as they have always been an essential part of competition prep diets. Any opinion would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much..

My experience with fat loss is the most effective way to lose fat while retaining muscle during a cut. My preferred method is to find optimal levels for Fat and Protein and use carbs to fill in the rest of the daily needs. Carb cycling can be successful but I have found a well timed refeed (controlled increase in carbs to spike fat burning hormones and fill out muscle) works very well.
I don't believe that certain fats will make you fat, Fat sources should be varied to get the full spectrum while also controlling the total amount daily to fit within your target numbers.

I agree with Paul. There's no magic formula as everyone is different but there are some commonalities. Don't dip too low in total % of calories from fats as you will mess up your hormone levels.

What works best for fat loss is being in the proper deficit with your calories and giving yourself enough time to get lean. Low carb, no carb, carb cycle is completely individual. I choose to do a couple small refeeds during the week, because it's simple. Fats are crucial in our diets and I use a wide variety with no issues.
