should I be taking 2 scoops of weigh if I'm trying to cut body fat? I want to build muscle at the same time, so I know I probably won't see my actual weight go down, but if I'm trying to cut BFP%, should I be taking it?

You cannot lose fat and build muscle at the same time if you are on a calorie deficit which means you are losing weight not gaining.

Its very hard to build muscle and lose fat at the same time. I would suggest a high protein diet to help maintain your muscle mass while still including carbs for around your workouts. Try and keep your whey to after your workouts when it would be most beneficial and lift heavy so your body wants to hold on to its muscle. Hope this helped

A solid yes. If you want to maintain your muscle mass, lean whey will help you reach that 1g/lb protein ratio to help you preserve muscle. Make sure it's lean whey; not gainer though!

This is probably one of the best answers.
If you aren't taking whey and you are lifting weights you are only hurting yourself in the... all terms.
And seriously, I dont know what it is with people saying you cant lose fat while gaining muscle. The more lean muscle you have the higher your metabolism rises.
while building muscle on a deficit your body is going to use whey and quick protein to repair them, while it uses whats in storage for the other energy.
I mean that makes sense, check out my musclepharm log and my progress pics on there if it doesnt seem to be plausible.

just like everybody else said, it is almost impossible to gain muscle and lose fat simultaneously. You can only reduce muscle wastage when on a cut by maintaining a high protein diet.

Because a high protein diet is only obtainable under consumption of whey...

personally if you're not against eating meat... drinking protein on a cut is just dumb.
eat meat until you hit your macros. you stay fuller longer, you get your protein, and you actually have a decent amount of food to eat, instead of nibbling on small bits of food, and drinking your protein... you have a limited amount of calories you can take on a cut.. make it FOOD, not drink.
As far as building while cutting... if you're out of shape and very fat.. yes, its possible. if you're new to lifting, its easy to do.. but beyond that its a slow process... one that can be killed by cutting too fast... or (unusual but possible)your cut can be "stalled" by gaining faster then you're losing...
but whatever.
really im just disappointed this thread is in the ADVANCED section. it doesnt belong here, it belongs with the other newbie questions under "Losing Fat"
