I'm a beginner, I like to do simple exercises, but ones that are effective.
I love to lift weights, I have a pair of 10lb dumbells at home, as well as an elliptical..and not a whole lot of room to work out, but I can manage, just nothing like jumping from one end of the room to another.

Anywho, I just don't know what to do/how to start my workout even..
I want to do different exercises with my weights but don't know what..I feel like I'm doing the same things over and over again, squat and press, lunges, planks..abs. I did used to do the 30 day shred but I'm really of sick of it now, so nothing like that. No dvd's, I get bored of them too quickly..and just don't like to follow them. I like to do things my way, and at my own pace.
I would like to create my own workout, but again don't know where to start and what exercises to include. :/ seems like those are the only ones I know lol...

Can someone please help me out. I need some ideas, is there like a website with different workout plans that can be done at home with dumbells, something like bodyrocktv..but less intense/less porno and more weights included.

Also, can somone help me create a workout maybe :/ one that suits me..I like to do things at my own pace, and do exercises that I like, so this would be perfect for me. Is there a site that lists diff. exercises and how to do them that I could maybe look at and add to my workout.
..because I don't know what to do :/

I want to workout I just don't know how..as stupid as that sounds..

Anywho, any help would be very much appreciated. :)

-Thanks! =)

You dont need a lot to workout at home. Variety is what works. Start doing walking lunges, step-ups on a bench or sturdy chair, reverse one legged lunges, and weights on ankles to do donkey kick backs. Also hip raisers with a dumbell on your abds and lift and lower for a tighter butt. Go to the library and check out books.

Do cardio in the morning on an empty stomach then again in the evening to speed up your metabolism. Good luck!

I prefer working out at home to a gym. I have a few workouts you can look at here which require minimal equipment
http://www.hotnfit.com/weightlifting/workoutroutines.htm

For exercise demonstrations, bodybuilding.com has a huge database of them! http://www.bodybuilding.com/exercises/
Also check out links here - http://www.hotnfit.com/weightlifting/exercisedemonstration.html#top

And here's my article on routine design - http://www.hotnfit.com/weightlifting/routinedesign.html#top

Thanks! those look like good exercises but the part I get stuck at the most is when they say to do things like, bench press, pull up, pull down...etc etc. things that require a barbell and diff. gym equipment that I don't have.
Is there any way I can substitute exercises like that..? :/

Get an exercise ball or a bench so you can do presses. This one is dumbbells only - http://www.hotnfit.com/weightlifting/beginnerdb.html#top .. you can change the rep scheme if you like.

Most barbell exercises have dumbbell variants.

This template is great for ideas - http://www.hotnfit.com/weightlifting/fullbodytemplate.html#top
-- On day 1, front db squats for first exercise
-- On day 2, I would suggest dumbbell pullthroughs and sumo squats for first exercise replacement

There are lots of exercises in the bb.com database that use dumbbells too.

You might find some things on bodyrock.tv. Also, MyOMyTV.com has some good stuff. It's mostly kettlebell stuff but with some slight changes you can use your 10lb dumbbells.

I used dailyburn.com to help pick out exercises. You can pick the body part you want to work, then click if you have access to machines, DB, bands, etc. and hit enter and it will give you a list of exercises and a how-to on the exercise. It's really helpful. you can also log your workouts and track your daily eating and it adds everything for you and tells you what you need to eat more of. It's a good site.
