It's not that great tbh. I play it because SWG shut down and my role playing guild (yes strong nerd) switched to it. Otherwise my subscription would be cancelled tomorrow, for now it will remain until SWGEmu.

sort of makes me lose hope for humanity, the entire game looks bland and just done. ****ty gaming engine, sh!tty farking level design. Like this one city is meant to represent the sprawling metropliis, instead its just a bunch of buildings where u can only travel to and fro via cab. In other words its this massive backdrop which is just bullsh!t, filled with little places u can go here and there. Joke i tell you.
This game does not look good....at all. Yet people say its going to be awesome? I is not sure if srs

Most MMO's are terrible when they release. In time, it can be a great MMO. The real question is, can they keep enough subscriptions to keep the game afloat before they hit that mark? I don't know. Depends on how they treat the next 2 months.

W/e, i'm gonna keep playing this. Not crazy like I used to with WoW though. I'll probably get GW2 since I like the fantasy medieval type mmos.

Biggest problem with SWTOR is that the starting planets, at least for the Empire, are terrible, boring, and drag on a solid 15-20 hours longer than they should.... I know I certainly feel this way and most of the people I've talked with about it have said the same thing. I've never really heard someone say they LIKED the first few planets (I'm specifically talking Korriban, Balmorra, and Nar Shadaa). From Tatooine and beyond, though, it gets pretty fun.

The clunky ability lag is what's killing the game for me. I saw that they're working on fixing it, but until then, my sub is canceled. It makes the game feel extremely cheap.

It kind of goes like this:
Empire:
Korriban sucks (warrior/inquistor starting planet). Hutta is kinda cool (bounty hunter/agent starting planet). Dromund Kaas is very mediocre. Balmora is boring. Nar Shadaa is cool for the first hour then devolves into "when do I get outta this sh!t!" Tatooine is pretty awesome. Alderaan is a step below Tatooine, but open. After Alderaan you really get into the meat of your class story. If you're bored by that point you should just quit.
Republic (from what I have heard):
Tython is the best starting planet except the class stories are so boring. Coruscant is corridor after corridor. After that, they share the same planets as empire.

Precisely why I didn't hop on at launch. Figured there would be tons of bugs that would take time to fix
