Body masters made really high quality stuff before they went out of business several years ago. I used a gym back in my army days that had their full line of equipment and it was great to say the least, but that bench looks a little different than the ones they had there. If it's in super good shape I'd say it's a pretty good deal because it will no doubt be a very solid bench. I'd be a little skeptical of how good of shape it's in though until you know for sure.

That is the bench that was paired with their collegiate racks. One of my best friends has one, and it is one of the best benches they made. I would consider it a steal at that price. I've seen quite a few Bodymasters benches but only one of this style in person. If I recall correctly, the spotter stands are part of the rack, and this bench was designed to wedge under the spotter stands. It then slides in and out, so you can easily switch from flat bench to incline without having to reposition the bench

Does it matter that I don't have the matching rack to go with it? The only part that confuses me are the wheels in the front and the back - what is to keep it from rolling around on it's own?

You've got a good question, and I tried calling my friend, but it appears that he is out of town this week. Although it rest on the wheels it should also rest on the center piece which will keep it from rolling around. However, it might have a tendency to slide (depending on the surface it is on). What type of surface will it be one? You would likely want to find away to anchor it to your rack if possible or at least prevent the rear wheels from moving (I wouldn't think it would be that difficult). What rack will you be using it with? Does the rack have a crossmember in the rear (on the ground)? Their is bound to be a way to make this bench work with your rack. Its a really nice bench that retailed for $800 or more.

I have an old World Sporting Goods rack, it's made with 3 inch square tubing throughout and yes it does have a crossmember on the bottom part in the back. Right now it is in my cement garage and it will probably remain a cement floor for a long time until I buy some rubber. Either way I think I'm getting the bench for sure, if it does want to roll - ill just find a way to make it work.

I agree with your decision to get the bench. Hard to pass a bench like that up. I'm sure you will be able to make it work. PM me some pictures of the rack and I might be able to help.
