the search engine is your friend. I'm sure there are other threads too.

Well I'm not looking to sell it right at the moment. I was hoping to maybe look into demoing a Cybex squat press. Originally I wanted to get maybe the Legend leg press. But I did settle on the bodycraft because it was probably the best one I could actually fit through my doorway. In the future if I do an addition -then I'll consider upgrading. That being said- the bodycraft is an excellent leg press machine. very smooth-minimal footprint (very important for those with space issues). Depending on what type of plates you have ( some plates like Ivanko revolvers are a bit thicker) you can easily fit between 8-10 plates on each side. It has a 1000lb limit. If you perform the exercise correctly and smoothly, that limit should suffice for most people (many people tend to have terrible form on this particular exercise & brag on how much weight they did). It is also pretty good for donkey calf raises-or you can face the machine and perform the exercise that way. GOOD: leg presses & calf exercises. BAD: hack squats. The weight carriage will bottom out before you can get a full ROM. Not sure what else to say- it a good solid machine and highly recommend it over a leg press that has its carriage on wheels instead of linear bearing. shop around the web-make some calls and you should be able to get a better deal than list price. I bought mine from ifitnessdirect. spoke with Andy- nice guy. hope this helps

Thanks for this helps a lot. I finally pulled the trigger on this machine this afternoon! Should receive it in a week or two. Cant wait to try it. Right now i have a leg press on wheels, like you are saying i feel like I fight with the machine and not lifting properly the weights! I hope the bodycraft will be better!

If possible can you give me the length of the weights sleeves? Thank you!

congrats on your purchse- give us a review when you get it. I'm at work now- I will have to measure the weight horns when I get home. If you have standard 45lb plates then loading up should not be a problem. I've seen some funky looking slotted plates that take up alot more room.

A possibly solution for the hack squat could be to install a higher foot platform, as seen in youtube videos "intense leg workout/ hacksquats" and "legs workout" (from the same user). Of course in the specific videos the (wooden) platform applied on a body solid leg press/ hack squat machine (to allow an even deeper stretch) but that could be propably a solution for the bodycraft machine also.

Alexthaman -the weight horns are 12 3/4". Interesting contraption on those videos. Not sure I want to build a huge wooden block to perform hacks though. I'm surprised he needs it- looks like an older body solid machine. I had one before and I could go all the way down when doing hacks. I noticed he has wooden blocks or something inside the wheel slides so the carriage won't go all the way down. Between that and the mummified knee wrapping I don't see how this works.

Thanks for the mesurements! Really appreciate it! I'm not sure either that I would do hack squats on wood! So much weight! I will look at the machine when i receive it to see if there is something to do for hacks! Thanks Grump!

been talking to bodycraft to modify the 2 shoulder rest so u can get better rom on hack squats, they are taking my idea on board and poss might put into production spring.

ps the machine doesnt need moded just the shoulder pad arm stems so an easy replacement part for any f660 previous owners.

yeah it has wheels but honestly doesn't feel bad. going to pickup another mirror for the side so i can glance and see how far down i can get without just guessing.

accidentally posted in the wrong thread.

Interesting-are they going to lower the arms? Can't wait to see how this works.

yes prob a re-design on the arms to push the pads down lower ,expressed this instead of altering the main design of the the machine itself .Just be interesting to see if bodycraft take this onboard they said they would and that it would be passed on to the designers ,Again i don't see why not as they have already updated there power racks with bar holders on each spotter holder in the front of the rack , older models didn't have this .
