What if Barry Sanders had kept playing? If he had a better o-line he'd have doubled the rushing record. Stop using "if" and "had" to try to prove a point.

Lold at it being ignorant, you're comment is retarded. Mine has some basis.

Rodgers> breesYou obviously don't see what I was trying to point out. The "had he done x" or "if he had done this" can be applied to ANY argument. Point is it didn't happen so you can't argue for it. What if Devin Hester was a QB and better than Rodgers? What if Montana went to a different team? What if Steve Young had never played? What if Drew Brees played for the Lions?

Do you see the point I"m tyring to make?

ITT: Passing Yards mean you are the GOAT.

Brees:
Touchdowns: 41(why was he still in at the end of the game throwing TDs. 2 mins left and you're winning big...?)
INT's: 13
Record: 12-3
NFC Seed: 3

Rodgers:
Touchdowns: 45

No, you're a homer because you run into every thread (regardless if it's about the Packers or not) and you gotta bring up Rodgers... and yes we all know he is an amazing QB; but so it's comical to watch you get so butthurt when people don't say he's number 1 though..

I suppose you missed the fact that this thread is titled "Drew Brees is the GOAT!" Discussing QBs better than Brees is completely relevant.

I guess. After these past few years I can't imagine how someone can think otherwise. Only Brady comes close IMO. Then the likes of Montana, Manning, Marino, Elway, Young. Rodgers has great potential but is fairly new. Brees has played better in past seasons than Rodgers has this year IMO. I don't paymuch attention to INTs because half the time its not the fault of the QB. That applies to all QBs.

Agreed. NFL is turning into the arena football league. It's ridiculous how much passing is going on nowadays... No disrespect to Brees but it's a sad day in the NFL when a guy breaks a 27 year old passing yd record and he's not even having the best season at his position, Rodgers is. So congrats Brees, I'm sure your record will last a couple years.

This. Not sure how people can try to compare different era's when you're playing with completely different rules. The league has become so QB-friendly that you've got like 3 QB's on the verge of breaking the same record record after 27 years. Its never been as much of a "chuck and duck" league as it is now.

I would argue this too. Today more than ever the QB is favored. In the 90s you had RBs able to lead teams because the game was more balanced between the QB and RB. Now it's all about the QB. The best RBs aren't even making the playoffs anymore.

You see, I did but I then subtracted them because the 2010 NFCCG in which Brees had a victory against the Vikings handed to him on a silver platter was the most biased officiating in a game I have ever witnessed as an NFL fan. He did not earn that victory and thus did not earn that superbowl.

This game was the NFL's version of Sacramento-LA, 2002 Game 6. The calls were so obviously in favor of the feel good story Saints that I can't come to any conclusion other than that the NFL league office gave this game away.

I see that you chose your stats carefully..

If you wanna play this game let's pull some more postseason stats..

Drew Brees 150-225 (66.7%) 1648yards (7.32YPA) 13TDs 2INTs 103.7 QBR

Tom Brady 424-682 (62.2%) 4407yards (6.5YPA) 30TDs 16INTs 85.7QBR

2001: throws 1TD and 1INT during the whole postseason for a whooping 5.9YPA
2003: sub 60% completion rate, 6.3YPA, a respectable 5TD, 2INT performance
2004: a great postseason, 5TDs, no INTs and a 109.4QBR.

And it's pretty obvious that Payton approves of breaking records since he was up by 22 when Brees broke the record on the last 33 yard drive (all passes) of the game. And Brees needs just 11 completions to break the single season completion record (450).
