its ALOT better than it used to be.

I havent played it for ages, so I dont know whats different these days, but it used to be a console killer (atleast for the old fat ones) because you could not save during an endurance race.

I dont know if it was connected or not, but my fat console died after I played GT5, though I never did any of the 12 or 24 hour races.

Its also alot better with a gaming wheel, can you rent it for a weekend and see if you like it?

You can import your own music into the game which is pretty cool and makes the longer races less tedious and it supports 3D, though IMO it looks rubbish

OP do you like Formula 1?

If you're gonna play offline I found the championship mode on F1 2010 much more intense than the races on GT5

With GT5 if I finished 1st or 10th I would not give a fuark, but with F1 2010 I found myself concentrating intensely to finish at the top.

Might be because I am an F1 fan though.

It's a ****ty game, only the premium cars look good, it often feels as if you are gliding over the track, you can't really FEEL the asphalt, the opponent AI is just terrible, as are their cars, it's super easy, ...

But I can't stop playing it because I want that F2004 and collecting cars and tuning them is so fuuuuuuuunnnnnn.

I wish I had enough time to play it. Great game though. Its nice to play after playing first person shooters all the time.

very similar to grand turismo 4 on the ps2 i think thats why it cops alot abuse because expectations were so high on the game. But defienetely worth buying especially now its gone platinum, your looking at 200+ hours of play time.

its 'ok' very over hyped from the beggining.. Personally I prefer forza 3/4

regarding it and forza, if you don't have a wheel its fun until you get to the legit race cars then its hard as fuk.

I had it for a month she nit first came out and was so disappointed.

No feel to the game. Loading screens too long is a big problem. However, my biggest gripe with the game is the ai. They are retarded. They will do a pit manuever on you spin you out then drag you for 2 minutes going 5mph so you lose the race. Worst racing game I've played and I'm a huge fan of racing simulators.

Its a great driving sim.

Its not a very fun racing game.

I was in denial about it for a long time but finally admitted it. If you love driving and tuning you'll get your moneys worth, but as a racing experience it falls very short. AI hasnt improved since GT3..

Coming from a massive GT3/GT4 fanboy I was I extremely let down with this game.. Sold it on craigslist the very next day after its release.

Overhyped and garbo.. Forza is better.

The series peaked with GT3 I think, that game was brilliant. GT4 was also pretty good, but GT5 lets me down in so many ways. I expected a more polished game, I have only picked it up and played it 4 or 5 times since I bought it.

Played it today, it's not bad but it gets pretty repetitive. And kinda disappointed, thought the tuning would go a bit further in depth.

awesome game, not quite as good as iracing or rfactor, but it is probably the best console sim. would give it a 9/10, but if PD were not perfectionists, this game would be a 10/10. reason being is that they spent too long on small things. the game was released as an unfinished product pretty much, but no body wanted to wait 2 more years for them to finish. if GT6 is on the PS3 then it will be what GT5 should have been

Ya but FORZA's transition from race to race SUCKS...

I like that in GT5 you work your way up from E class cars, in Forza there are no requirements IE AWD, weight, FR, turbo, etc.

its trash. dont buy it.

i thought GT4 was a lot better, cant believe it took them 5 years to make another GT4 with a ****tier lay out

it's a "driving simulation" game. I drive in real life all day long lol. Seriously though, it's pretty boring.

GT5 isnt a game, it's a simulator. so if you like realism, its fantastic.

if you want a fun racing game, go for motorstorm. that game is amazing

yes but I doubt you drive supercars all day long racing against other supercars on a variety of tracks...

this game gives you a big rush. play in the mode where your view is inside the car and if you can afford it get a racing wheel.... wish I had a racing wheel...

i would rather drive a RUF CTR Yellowbird around the Nurburgring than drive a honda civic around my town...
