That is what some dumbass at Gamestop told me over the phone. Why would Sony make the hard drive upgradable by the third party hardware if you can't do it without severe penalty? I already bought 500GB internal drive for it too. Someone tell me she was just ignorant to the Sony's policy.

lol. no.

upgrading your HDD does NOT void your warranty. you dont need to open the case. if you open the case, even to look, you will void your warranty.
