Never shaved or waxed myself, na dI'm hairy like a bear...
After a first few times, was you body hair more dense or less, growing longer or shorter...

personally I've found that it grows back a little faster after a few times doing it. It also initially comes back thicker (or seems to) but doesn't progress darker after that. And as for length? I have never known of hair to grow back longer after shaving.
waxing is painful, but longer lasting and will definitely not make your hair grow back thicker but quite the opposite. Try all the different methods u wish, I bet you'll come back to shaving.
