I'm not sure if it's tall enough!

LOL. They had one of those monsters at a gym I went to about 10 years ago. I thought it looked ridiculous. I never even bothered to try it.

Why does that machine need to be that big?

Possibly the dumbest thing I've seen in recent days.

Just because.

I think when you hit 6 reps the bottom falls back to earth.

Engineering without a budget.

Engineering without a budget. Our varsity gym back in Uni had one of those in yellow. Never used it either. I preferred the hammer strength leverage leg press we had as well.

Wow, when I was first looking at that pick I thought...he must be doing that wrong...wait, huh?

Our high school weight room had a similar leg press machine.

That thing is crazy. For some, it might be a workout just climbing into it.

I've got to wonder... who came up with the design? And who okayed it? One of life's crazy mysteries.

It's definitely a large leg press design but I think the dude in the pic is a tiny man, if you look at the other equipment around compared to the leg press it doesn't look as big as when you compare the little man using it to it.

Either way, weird ass design...

I was expecting a large machine but that just looks ridiculous! aha amazing.

I tried to find a youtube clip of someone using one of those but had no luck.

There is a larger press out there. I remember seeing it on this forum but I can't find it.

It was a similar set up but the pad you lay on was almost like a dinner table and then the plate for your legs was about 3/4 of the way down the "table" I think it was designed to enable people with back injuries to use.

Don't know about you guys, but my legs are like jello after a set, so I could see myself staying up there til i'm done the exercise lol... or I can fall off of it lol

I think HammerStrength's engineering department snuck that one into production when Gary Jones was on vacation.

I did a search to try to find out more about that machine, but I came up empty. I'm guessing that not many were made.

I found it amusing too that the description says "BUYER COLLECTS" in very big letters.

Its called a Hammer Strength H squat. I actually know someone selling one for like $300. It is a huge machine, but it actually does not look quite as large in person. It is tall, but the footprint is actually smaller than some other leg presses. Hammer Strength stopped making them and I believe replaced them with the V Squat but they were popular with schools for football training. Here is a video:

Thanks for the information and the video. I'll rep you again when I'm able. ("You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to ndmike99 again.")

That thing looks retarded. I'm a big fan of the regular ole' hammer leg press though. Wish I had one.

I wish the video showed how you mount the thing.

They're a little bit hard to see in that vid, but there are a pair of steps (one to the immediate left of the weight plates and another above it) that were used to climb up to the top of that beast.

HammerStrength could have killed two birds with one stone by putting the loading pins at the top of the machine, so that the user would have to carry the plates up there one at a time, thus getting an additional "workout."

It must be hard to mount.
