First off, a HUGE thank you to Universal for picking me to do this 12 week log using their Hell Raiser Training routine. They have really put together a solid routine and I know I'm going to benefit greatly from it. They will be providing me with all the needed supplementation and routine guidance. My diet was designed for me by Brandon C4 Cass. So, the time has come to take my training to an all new level. I've had a lot of success with other routines but I've always felt there was more I could do, train more effectively that is. Then along came HRT. When I first saw this routine I knew it was the routine for me. I've been using it for 2 weeks now and totally love the pain I get from it. By the time I'm finished with my workout, I am one tired man. This routine can build some serious mass and take you to an all new level BUT you better be ready for a shyt load of pain! If you aren't feeling intense muscle pumps, like your muscles are on fawking fire... then you're doing it wrong. Period.

So, hang on, sit back and enjoy the show. There will be updated pics, videos and more. I will be giving every ounce of my will power, strength and BALLS to this routine. From the few workouts I have tried thus far, I know what lies ahead of me and I am prepared for HELL.

Multivitamin and Multimineral:
Large amounts of vitamins and minerals taken daily are needed to replenish what is depleted during this type of intense training.

Joint Support:
A strong and complete joint supplement designed for weight training athletes is needed to support the joints, tendons and ligaments and provide reconstruction and proper lubrication.

Essential Amino Acids:
Taking 6 grams of uncoupled EAA's in the same ratio as human muscle protein prior to training and immediately following training assists to increase protein synthesis, build muscle and aid in recovery

Cell Volumization:
Taking a supplement designed to maximize muscle cell size with creatine and an emphasis on nitric oxide release prior to training will help to maximize the delivery of nutrient rich blood to the muscles which will in turn maximize the muscle pump.


No supplement on earth can replace a solid diet. Now the HRT is a bulking type routine, but Im cutting for a Bodybuilding contest March 17th in St. Louis Missouri. This routine with the Animal Stack and my diet should yield the desired results I seek.

*I've decided to keep my diet out of this. Reason being is that I paid for the diet #1 and #2 I dont want to give anyone an advantage over me. My diet was designed for me of course but anyone could edit it, copy it and make very nice gains. So, sorry but my diet is a secret. Just know its high protein, med carb, low fat.

Calorie wise, i never count them. I hate counting damn calories. Im more concerned with my macros. As long as i get my macros in, im golden. Protein is approx 40g per meal carbs to. I didnt design the diet and i trust Brandon 110% so he knows all the details. i just eat.

Honestly, my wife is the best training partner ive ever had. She motivates me, calls me names and all that good stuff. She is truly 1 of a kind.

Today is not Day 1 of my HRT. I just wanted to post todays workout and a video to let people see what todays workout was like. I swear, this routine is no joke. It's hard to explain how it's "different", all I can say is I feel a huge difference in my muscles on this routine. It's more of a direct hit to my muscles. Let me explain, when I would do say 4 x 6-8 on bench I always felt somewhat strong and a little pump but nothing dramatic. I never really felt my muscles "working" or contracting. With HRT my muscles have no choice but to contrat, squeeze and work. Its a deep in the muscle feeling that i've never experienced before. Ive had great routines and felt amazing during those routines but HRT is in a class of it's own. I feel my muscles working more effectively and working a lot harder. The pumps are intense as hell and I love that. Like I said before, if you aren't feeling intense muscle pumps, like your muscles are on fawking fire... then you're doing it wrong. Period.


BACK

*Wide Grip Pull Downs: 2 x 8 + 4 HCR (HCR = HellCentric Reps) w/150lbs

*Seated Cable Row: 2 x 8 + 4 HCR W/165lbs

*T-Bar Rows: 2 x 8 + 4 HCR w/125lbs (plus bar)

Notes: On wide grip pull downs, the only thing i'm having trouble with here is being able to pull the weight all the way down. It seems even with lighter weight I can't do all 4 reps with a full contraction at the end. As you can see in my video, the last rep or two my back rounds. I guess I just need to have my partner ease up on the pressure she adds.



TRAPS

*BB Shrugs: 2 x 8 + 4 HCR w/275lbs

Notes: These felt amazing, my traps felt huge, full and pumped!


REAR DELTS

*Rear Delt Fly Machine: 2 x 8 + 4 HCR w/140lbs

Notes:Totally different feel in the muscle. I have never felt my rear delts actually move like this, they were WORKING!



CALVES

*Seated Calf Machine: 2 x 8 + 4 HCR w/120lbs

*Toe Press on Leg Press: 2 x 8 + $ HCR w/280lbs

Notes: My calves were on fire big time. Seated calf was good but needed to add a little more weight.



Here's the video from my 2nd set on t-bar rows. I used a v-bar for this movement.

*I used 25lb plates so that I could get more ROM, next time i'll use 35lb plates. These felt really good and my back felt great.



Thats todays workout. Taking the weekend off to eat like a damn pig while I can. Diet and training go hard core Monday. I will post before pics this weekend.

Off day today. Damn, I am sore as hell right now. Traps and lats are sore and tender to the touch. And I love it! Taking my wife out for breakfast and relax the rest of the day and enjoy a good UFC fight tonight with a few cold beers. I got to enjoy the bad stuff while I can. :)

HRT is not joke. I love the way it feels and how my muscles respond to it. I got a good feeling this routine is going to change BB2K into a BEAST.

Offical weigh in this morning: 208.5lbs *I was 214.5lbs last night but lost 6lbs from being sick. I wasnt sure which weight i should use so I just chose the lightest.

Beginning weight= 208.5lbs

Weight Difference for the Week= N/A
Current Protein= 45-50 grams
Current Carbs Grams= 35-40 grams
Apettite = 1(poor) Still recovering from food poisoning

Today's workout was not great at all. I was so weak and still nauseated from last nights episode. I woke up this morning still sick and weak as hell but I wasnt going to let that stop me. I'd rather go and have a half assed workout and give it my all than not have a workout at all. Dropped about 6 or 7 pounds last night from the food poisoning ordeal. So eating my meals today has been VERY challenging for me. I have a very hard time getting the food down because everything grosses me out right now not to mention my throat and back of my tongue hurt and swallowing is hard. (I know "that's what she said")

On to todays workout!!


SHOULDERS and BICEPS

*Seated Smith Front Press: 2 x 8 + 4 HCR w/145lbs

*Seated DB Side Raise: 2 x 8 + 4 HCR w/20lb DBs (you can lift a lot of

weight on these with HCR)

*BB Front Raise: 2 x 8 + 4 HCR w/30lb Bar

*Machine Preacher Bench Curl: 2 x 8 + 4 HCR w/70lb + whatever the machine

weighs (maybe 10lbs)

*Reverse Cable Curls: 2 x 8 + 4 HCR w/60lbs these were to easy.

*BB Wrist Curls Behine Back: 3 x 10-12 with slow negative

*Reverse Wrist curls: 3 sets w/10lbs (used a rev wrist curl device, 10lb plate on a cable and I roll it up)



CARDIO

*25min HIIT
5min warm up @ 3.5mph
15min HIIT @ 6.0mph
5min cool down @ 3.0mph


Notes: Mentally I wanted to kill it, my muscles wanted more as well but I just couldnt get myself going good. I felt weak, tired and non focused.


Current Supplement usage:

Pre-Workout: 1 Scoop CRAZE
Intra-Workout: Water
PWO Meal: 2 scoops Big Blend with 1 Scoop Dextrose

Now it's time for Meal 3 which will be 2 chicken breasts, pineapple and a baked potato.

Glad to hear that your hitting it. I hit legs today as well. Jolted the Hell right out of me, had to bring the weight down as I'm finding out all over the place. I haven't had my legs feel this bad since doing 15 k marches in the Marine Corps....Can't wait for next week..

Pretty damn good leg workout today. I'm still not 100% over the food poisoning thing. I feel nauseated from time to time but not bad. Eating all my food is the biggest challenge right now. I force feed myself and have to eat really slow so I dont puke it back up. lol Oh well, I'm a fawking ANIMAL and I will survive!

On to todays workout!!


LEGS

*Leg Press: 2 x 8 + 4 HCR with 820lbs (8 plates per side plus the machine, assuming its 100lbs)

*Hack Squat: 2 x 8 + 4 HCR with 335lbs (+20lbs from last week)

*Leg Ext: 2 x 8 + 4 HCR with 110lbs

*BB SLDL: 2 x 8 + 4 HCR with 185lbs

*Lying Leg Curl: 2 x 8 + 4 HCR with 100lbs



Notes: My hamstrings felt like they were going to pop off the back of my legs! 100lbs felt damn near impossible to do using HCR! Nice 20lb gain on my hack squats as well.


Current Supplement usage:

Pre-Workout: 1 Scoop CRAZE
Intra-Workout: Water
PWO Meal: 2 scoops Big Blend with 1 Scoop Dextrose



Thats todays workout. Nothing great today, but there's always tomorrow!

I'm right there with you. My hams felt like they were going to explode.. I hope to have some 20lbs gains myself in two weeks. What a way to come back from your food poisoning... Keep up the motivation

But I know its important and it will be done this day forward. My mood was good, I'm feeling 100% in the gym again and diet is getting easier. chicken isnt so bad now. lol

*Floor Crunches: 3 x 25

*Planks: Held 1min each side for 3 sets

*Rolling Planks: (this is what I call them but they may be known by a different name)

*5min warm up 30min @ 3.5mph 3.5incline 5min cooldown

STRETCHING

*Basic leg, low back and chest stretches. These hurt but I felt great afterwards.

PWO Meal: 2 scoops Big Blend with 1 Scoop Dextrose


NOTES: I felt great, woked up a good sweat on the cardio and my abs felt tight. Nice little workout today.

I believe those are called Ab Roll-outs. Great ab work exercise, starting with 10's all the way up to 35's currently. Intense.

Damn fine workout today. My mode and focus were top notch and I felt strong... well... until the HCR kicked in lol I know this routine rocks and I feel great using it but have to admit that having to use lot lighter weight is frustrating. Kicking my ego in the balls for sure. BUT I actually "feel" my muscles working harder and I'm getting more out of this training style I believe.


On to todays workout!!


CHEST

*Decline BB Press on Smith Machine: 2 x 8 + 4 HCR with 245lbs

*Incline BB Press on Smith Machine: 2 x 8 + 4 HCR with 205lbs

*Flat DB Chest Press: 2 x 8 + 4 HCR with 75lbs (I didnt like these at all, I felt out of control with the weight)


TRICEPS

*Straight Bar Skull Crushers: 2 x 8 + 4 HCR with 75lbs

*BB Close Grip Bench Press: 2 x 8 + 4 HCR with 135lbs (I had to use CGBP because the gym was packed and could use the chair to do DB overhead Ext)

Damn fine workout today. My mode and focus were top notch and I felt strong... well... until the HCR kicked in lol I know this routine rocks and I feel great using it but have to admit that having to use lot lighter weight is frustrating. Kicking my ego in the balls for sure. BUT I actually "feel" my muscles working harder and I'm getting more out of this training style I believe.

*BB Close Grip Bench Press: 2 x 8 + 4 HCR with 135lbs (I had to use CGBP because the gym was packed and could use the chair to do DB overhead Ext)

When I wasn't using HRT I could bench 315 for 8 on a good day. And close grip around 285 or so by 8. But this HRT has cut my weights in half BUT I admit I feel it a lot more. My ego has been raped! Lol 99% of the guys in my gym close grip 225 or more easy but not me, not now. Lol

Same my flat bench went from 320lbs plus the bar on flat bench for 8-12 reps to 160-180lbs for 8 reps and barely 4 hell reps lol. My skull crusher has went from 145 for 6-10 reps to 70-90lbs for 8 reg and 4 hell. Mind you by the 3rd and 4th rep I have Zero left in the tank. This program is defiantly an ego check but the pump and burn that it causes is additive and insane.

I totally destroyed back today. It was a killer workout and I loved it! The only trouble im having so far is getting a squeeze at the top. HRT partials make it hard to contract the muscle fully even when I lighten the weight. I assume thats from muscle fatigue and all the blood being forced into the muscle. Back and Biceps are the main muscles I have this problem with so Ive been trying even harder to squeeze the muscle. By the time i'm finished with a set I am beat. lol

Today I hit the gym for some cardio, abs and stretching. It felt really good today and I hit abs hard. I took 1 scoop of RAGE before I left the house and have to say it was a huge help. I felt lazy all day today and really didnt want to go do cardio but it had to be done. NO SLACKING.

ABS

*Weighted crunches: 3 x 25 w/35lb plate

*Rev Crunches: 3 x 30

*Planks: Held for 1 min each side 3 sets

*Abs roll outs: 3 x 15 used ez bar and 25lb plates on each side, this wasnt a lot harder than last time :)

CARDIO

*30min at 3.0 incline and 3.5mph


Came home to stretch and eat my next meal, shrimp and rice baby!

Notes: I felt really good, full of energy and focused. I wish my partner wouldve been there, I have a much better workout when shes there. But I did ok on my own though. Tenderness in my shoulders isnt as bad as yesturday or the day before so hopefully its just old man syndrome.

the food poisoning thing is all gone now. It was a horrible thing to go through thats for sure. Now chicken doesnt gross me out... well... fried chicken still does :) Im 100% and ready to bust ass, the stack is awesome. I take both Animal PAK and Animal FLEX at night before bed.. kinda hard choking down 19 pills. :o

Leg day today. My god what a workout. Went to the other gym I train at today, Impact Fitness, they have a really nice leg press and hack squat set up. The brand is Tuff Stuff. For some reason the weight is much heavier on this leg press than the one I normally use at Eagle Fitness.

I love the way this machine feels and my legs get a killer burn from it. The part where your feet go is rounded and I like that a lot. Ok, enough about that mess and on to todays workout!!




LEGS

*Leg Press: 2 x 8 + 4 HCR with 750lbs (five 45lb plates per side plus a 100lb plate per side. The machine is 100lbs i assume)

*Hack Squat: 2 x 8 + 4 HCR with 335lbs

*Leg Ext: 2 x 8 + 4 HCR with 135lbs

*BB SLDL: 2 x 8 + 4 HCR with 185lbs

*Lying Leg Curl: 2 x 8 + 4 HCR with 120lbs



Notes: The weights used were higher on some lifts but lower on others. Weird how weights can vary on machines at different gyms. The leg ext machine was amazing, i actually felt it work my muscles from the knee up to my hip, but the other gym I felt it all in my knees. The leg ext at Impact has a rolling pad instead of a stationary pad, this allows me to use all my quad muscles. The fixed pad makes it lock into 1 line of motion and kills my knees. Same with leg curls, leg day will be done at Impact everytime from now on.

Hot diggidy ****ing dog you've just about got this **** down already. Nice work. Couple things. Slow it down on the full negative. The partial neg and pos look solid and your cinching the muscles for the full neg, but slow it down on each one to effectively empty the tank and get the most out of this. The other thing is...and this is prescription training now, I want you to fight your wife (wouldn't dare say that in any other context) on the full negs. Especially on lifts like Rear Delt Raises where the muscles are weakest when fully contracted. On these muscle groups that are essentially backwards in strength distribution, you are much stronger at the bottom of the movement than you are at the top. Make your wife work extra hard at the bottom to force your hands together. Your getting this down to the point where you can have some fun with it. Mike was doing this on calves in the video series. I had to bust my ass to even get him to budge on the calf raises...even with all that weight on there. That's why the video crew left a couple of my comments in there. Have some fun with this but remain vigilant...know your limits while your pushing them. Great job brother.

Today was an off day. I had planned to hit the gym to do abs, cardio and stretch but I was to busy making sweet love to the couch. I ate meal 1 then hit the couch, ate meal 2 then went to bed etc. Most of my day was spent lying down. I will feel so refreshed tomorrow thats for sure. Diet is dead on track, water intake is still 1 gallon, its hard to get more than that in. Hell i spend most of my day pissing. No soreness, no complaint. Kinda pissed with todays workout. Well, not the entire thing just pull downs. I can't seem to get a full squeeze on the partials. My partials look like shyt. I do the 8 regular reps and by rep 2 of the HCR I cant bring it all the way down. It looks like i'm doing 1/8th reps. So, I did my 2 sets and then lightened the weight to 90lbs. Then and only then was I able to actually get a full squeeze on each and every rep including the HCR. It felt really good like I got more out of it but 90 damn pounds? Jesus, ego was kicked in the balls again.

I used a stepper thing. It was all they had. I can't use plates because they slide. The stepper thing wasnt so great because my 207lbs plus the 275lbs on the bar made it cave in a bit. But I truly LOVE standing calf raises especially done with HRT. Best damn burn and pump ever.

I liked it but hate having to twist my wrist to re rack it. Puts my body in a weird postion... know what i mean? With BB i can just set it down. No low back troubles there.

I used a stepper thing. It was all they had. I can't use plates because they slide. The stepper thing wasnt so great because my 207lbs plus the 275lbs on the bar made it cave in a bit. But I truly LOVE standing calf raises especially done with HRT. Best damn burn and pump ever.

Off day today. Hit the gym for some abs, cardio and stretching. Totally demolished abs. I used slow and controlled rep speed and held each contraction for 2-3 seconds for an amazing HELL FIRE burn baby. I admit that I am not a fan of abdominal work, I feel I get enough ab work from all my other lifts but I do them to make them even stronger. Plus I need to keep my core strong due to L5/S1 surgery a few years back. AND you can't beat a strong, nice looking core. :)



On to todays workout!!


CARDIO

*30 min HIIT. 5 min warm up, 20min of 1min run at 8mph then step off for 1 min, then a 5 min cool down


ABS

*Hammer Machine Crunches: 3 x 30 with 40lbs
I did these really slow, squeezing every single rep. My god the burn was killer!

*Machine Oblique Twists: 3 x 20 per side with 70lbs
These felt really good. I kinda dont like working obliques with weight because my waist is big and tends to grow easilt when i work obliques. I need to find a way to bring them IN.

*Leg Raises in Cpts. Chair: 3 x 15 with Bodyweight
These are always a bytch for me, i HATE them but they work my lower abs nicely.

*Cable Kneeling Crunches: 3 x 20 with 80lbs
amazing burn and got a few small cramps along the way lol

*Hyper Ext: 3 x 15 with bodyweight
These are a must do for me, my lower back has had surgery before so I need to keep it strong



Abductors

*Abductor Machine: 3 x 20 with 205lbs
These always burn like hell lol


Adductors

*Adductor Machine: 3 x 20 with 205lbs
Felt like hell but worht it


STRETCHING

*Self explanitory






Notes: Cardio kicked my ass. I was soaking wet from the HIIT. Love doing HIIT cardio. Fast and effective. Abs are demolished now. They will be sore tomorrow I bet.

Week 2 check in: Everything is going fantastic. Metabolism is through the roof now and im constantly sweating after I eat. God I love my metabolism lol

The pump from todays shoulder / bicep workout was insane! I got my 1st set of shoulder press in and the pump was intense, the second set was to much and I had to drop the weight a good bit. But i loved it! It was the best pump i've had in a long ass time. Motivation today was not 100%. Cold and rainy outside and no hardcore folks at the gym :( Funny how we can feed off the energy of other people.

SHOULDERS

*Smith Machine Shoulder Press: 8 + 4 HCR with 185lbs
this was dropped to 135lbs on the last set, i only got 2 HCR and my shoulders gave out, so i did 4 with 135

*Lying Cable Upright Rows: 8 + 4 HCR with 60lbs
NICE burn and pump

*1 Arm DB Side Raise: 8 + 4 HCR with 25lbs
WOW.. LOVED these.


BICEPS

*1 Arm DB Preacher Curls: 8 + 4 HCR with 25lbs

*Cable Rev Curls: 8 + 4 HCR with 70lbs

*BB Wrist Curls: 8 + 4 HCR with 85lbs

*BB Rev Wrist Curls: 8 + 4 HCR with 35lbs


CARDIO

*20 min cardio 3.5mph @ 3.5 incline

Notes: Workout was damn good, nice pump on each exercise. Felt the muscles working hard today. Biceps need more work or maybe I should do biceps first next time so they get all my energy.

Damn kick ass leg day today! Words can not explain the massive pumps I got today. Damn veins were popping out all over! Yeah Buddy! I started off with hack squats. I wanted to do more weight this time on this movement so I did it first BUT when it was time for leg press I didnt allow myself to settle for what I did last time... I did more! I totally fried my legs today!


On to todays workout!!


QUADS

*Hack Squat: 8 + 4 HCR with 345lbs and 365lbs
Hack squat is up +30lbs!!

*Leg Press: 8 + 4 HCR with 560lbs and 650lbs
Leg Press is going up very nicely as well!!

I can go heavier onthese so I will next week


HAMSTRINGS

*Lying Leg Curl: 8 + 4 HCR with 130lbs
Will stay at this weight, hard to fully contract hams if i go heavier

FRIED my abs today. Man what a burn from HELL! Had a great workout and cardio was awesome. I felt really tired all day but didnt let that stop me. I made myself take it up a notch and kicked my ass!

These focus on upper and lower abs, did my reps slow and controlled with a squeeze on each rep


*Nautilus Ab Crunch Machine: 4 x 20 with 90, 100, 110, 120
This machine is killer, it has a back pad that allows you to lean back more and stretch out the abs, focuses mainly on upper abs.


*Machine Oblique Twist: 3 x 20 with 60lbs
I really like these, they feel damn good


*Hyperextentions: 3 x 15 with 25lb plate
Burned really good, had a nice pump in my lower back. I dont usually do these but I am from now on

Abductors

*Abductor Machine: 3 x 15 with 190, 205, 215

Adductors

*Adductor Machine: 3 x 20 with 190, 205, 215

CARDIO

*Cardio was a mix today. 5min warmup with 10min HIIT. I was running 7mph on a 7incline but felt fatiqued and drained FAST so the last 20min was LISS. 3.5incline at 3.5mph



Notes: Overall a damn fine session today. PWO I had my Animal Creatine and drank about half a gallon of water during my workout. Soaked in sweat but felt ready for more! I've been feeling really tired a lot lately, my appetite is going nuts too. About an hour after I eat i'm hungry again. Guess its time to up the water. lol

My workout today was just horrible. No motivation, no training partner, no "atmosphere"... nothing. But instead of sitting home and crying about it I gave what I could. I really hate half assed workouts but its better than nothing. I wasnt able to do my HRT as I normally do, I just "worked out" today. I kept the exercises basic and heavy as I could.


TRICEPS

*CGBP: 4 x 8 with 225, 245, 275, 275
Felt good, wish I couldve gone a bit heavier though

*Press Downs: 5 drop sets of 5 reps with 100, 80, 60, 40
These were done on an actual machine made for triceps, so the weight is a lot heavier

*1 Arm Rev Grip Press Down: 4 x 10 with 40lbs
Nice pump with these babies

*1 Arm Cable Kick Back: 4 x 8 with 30, 30, 40, 40
Triceps totally failed on last few reps of last set


CHEST

*Incline Smith Press: 4 x 8 with 185, 225, 245, 275
Felt my pecs working hard on these :)

*Decline Smith Press: 4 x 8 with 225, 245, 275, 315!
Smoked 315lbs like it was a cheap cigar

*Flat BB Press: 3 x 8 with 185, 205, 225
Strength on flat bench is GONE. Im sure due to all other exercises though

*Cable Flys: 4 x 10-12 with 50, 60, 70, 80
Nice pump and stretch on these



Notes: I feel like crap for not being able to do HRT today. I was really looking forward to kicking ass. But shyt happens from time to time. Back day tomorrow and I will destroy my lats training partner or not!

hahaha She was rubbing them last night and she said "whats this space between the abs running down your stomach?" I was happy to hear that question. Nothing like that seperation in the abs already. Im going to have to shave my hairy ass body soon and start tanning. I have a ton of chest hair to shave off... wheres my damn clippers?

Great guy! So hopefully by Monday she'll be back to 100% and so will I. I madea huge mistake today and took to much RAGE. These were done on a cable machine and the weight is a lot heavier than the other cable machines

Fantastic pump and burn. Squeezed each and every rep!

These are a tad painful for me, my left elbow doesnt like these but oh well, man up!



FOREARMS

Nice pump and veins poppin everywhere!

I cant do much weight with this movement. But I do get an amazing pump and burn from it and my forearms are growing

lets just say i did 45min of cardio today. lol I ended up having 1 hershey kiss, 5 mini cup cakes, 4 christmas cookies and 1 cookie/biscuit mix thing, a scrone or scone something like that.. damn good though. Then i headed over to my step sons house for dinner. i wasnt going to eat much at all.. but ended up having ham, cheese noodels w/bacon in it, mash taters w/gravy and corn. not a "lot" of food really just a few bites of each. god it was GOOD. lol Ate all my other meals though, i just added this crap in like a dumbass. So cardio is every day this week! and no cheat day.

LEG DAY! Man what a workout. I am so damn tired right now that after I post this i'm taking a nap! :) Hit legs hard today, up'd the weight a little and loved it. Slightly pulled a muscle on the right side of my right leg down by my knee. I've done this a few times befoore, seems when I go heavier I tend to strain that muscle. So next week i'll stay at the same weight. I felt it strain on my very first set. I dont know if i came down wrong or what but I didnt push it to hard after that. My goal was to hit 405lbs on hack squat but not today. :( Sorry but the quality of the videos suck really bad. Not very clear, so i'll do better next time.

Good strategy, it makes sense. But I go early in the morning and she won't wake up early when she's off work. Nurse, rotating shifts...so I dunno :p

oh i see, i dont blame her then. I wouldnt go either! lol I wake up at 7-730 every day and eat meal one then hit the gym by 9-930. even on off days im up that early. My stomach wont let me sleep in.

Yep, I don't bug her on those sleeping in days, 12 hr shifts are rough. I'm up at 5:45ish, and at the gym by 7:30am on most days. :)

I try to do cardio after my workout but some days that don't happen so I make damn sure i do abs and cardio on my off days. I really beat my abs good on my off days. Each rep is slow, controlled and a killer squeeze. Shyt burns like crazy.

Today was without a doubt my best HRT day so far. I decided to lighten the weight a little and focus more on the 3 part HCR more. I actually counted 5,43,2,1 on the negative nice a slow as my wife applied a good deal of pressure on the weights for me. I was shaking like a damn leaf as I preformed the negative, it felt insanley GOOD! I am cutting so my strength isnt going to go up very much if at all at this point so I am going to be smart and focus more on the movement, making the negative really slow and resist as hard as I can. That makes a HEEEYYOOOG difference for me. I feel my muscles working harder, they get more of a pump and I see much better results this way. Im not natually a very strong guy to start with, I cant lift weight thaat is "impressive" or weight that makes people stop and stare in awe. BUT the way I lift I get the results im after.. I get nice muscle mass, strength and I look damn good for my age.

CHEST

*Incline Smith Press: 8 + 4 HCR with 205lbs

*Decline Smith Press: 8 + 4 HCR with 205lbs

*Flat Smith Press: 8 + 4 HCR with 205lbs

My pecs were fried and I actually felt a much better pump this time by slowing that HCR down a great deal


TRICEPS

*Hammer Grip Press Downs: 8 + 4 HCR with 60lbs
This movement was one on a tricep cable machine, the weight is actually heavier that the other machine, only 2 pulleys on this machine

*BB Skull Crushers: 8 + 4 HCR with 45lbs
Yes only 45lbs! I tried 75 but the weight was to much and i didnt "feel" the movement so i dropped it to 45 and got a much better reaction

I mix it up. The routine isnt set in stone as far as the order of exercises go. I will start with decline next time. Im going to work the weakest muscles first. So like on shoulders and biceps day I will do biceps first and next chest day i'll do triceps first. Just a little change to keep my muscles growing. Plus my arms need a lot of work, they arent proportional with the rest of my body imo.

MY GOALS FOR 2012!

1 thing that keeps me motivated is setting realistic, obtainable goals. If I don't set a goal and work hard towards it, my results are less than what I want. I actually feel like i'm just spinning my wheels and waisting valuable time in the gym and in life. Waisting my valuable time is not something I like to do especially in the gym. I do not "bro-lift", I do not socialize much at all and i'm not there to play on my damn i-Phone like i see so many people doing these days.. and they wonder why they are not getting bigger and stronger.

I have set goals in the past and fell short of them, like millions of other people do. So I am human BUT what sets me apart is that if I dont reach that goal I dont go crawl in a corner, cry and and eat a fawking twinkie and hate my life or blame others! I set a new goal and work towards it. For example, I set a goal to break the RAW bench press record for my age and weight class. Currently that record is 425lbs @ 220lb Body weight in the 40-44 age group. Well, in my eyes it was obtainable. So i set out to beat it. I got to 355lbs and that seems to be the most i'll ever get. My shoulders hurt 24/7, my elbows were tender to the touch and my wrists hurt all the time to. So, its not something I think i will ever do. Heavy ass weight for low reps kills my joints, especially my shoulders. Does that mean I wont try to do it anyway? Maybe / maybe not. Depends on how my training goes, aches pains etc. But for now i set it aside, chose another goal and now i'm doing it.

My goals for 2012 are rather simple. I wanted to share my list with you guys/gals so you can kinda see into my world a little bit plus I hope it motivates some if not ALL of you to do the same. Writes your goals down! Be realistic about them then go fkn get them!




MY GOALS
even though this is a Bodybuilding web site, I will include my personal goals as well. I believe they all tie in together and as a whole make me a better person


*1. Most importantly I want to better myself as a husband to my beautiful wife. She is by far the greatest thing that has ever happened to me. Without her, my life would be a total wreck. I can't see my life being worth living without her in it.

*2. Better myself as a father to my kids and a step father to my step kids. I have 3 kids of my own and 3 step kids. Each and every one of them are amazing and I love them dearly.

*3. Better myself as a person. I tend to keep to myself and not socialize much. Most find me to be "unapproachable" and I want to change that.

*3. To stay healthy. My past is the past, the way I ate and drank back then is something I never want in y life again. At one point I was drinking over a 12 pack a night, EVERY night and 3 to 4 times that amount on weekends. I ate horribly, smoked and partied every night. Now, im not that man any more. My health is #1 now.

*4. To give 110% in the gym every time I walk in the door. My wife says i'm obbsessed with bodybuilding and the gym because its a top priority. To a point she is right, I do put the gym first and shouldnt but its one thing I love doing more than just about anything else. Its like my get away from reality. Some use drugs for that but i use the gym! lol

*5. To help as many people as I can reach their goals. By setting an example and living the lifestyle I feel will help motivate others of all ages to want to improve. I always offer my help, advice and suggestions to those that ask. Its an amazing feeling when a 17 year old kids walks up to me and asks me to train him for a bodybuilding show! And when a man my age asks me "can I look like you?" Man its a rush like nothing else.

*6. To grow my online business. I started my own online company and I want it to grow and be successful. Balancing my job, gym time, home life and my online business can be difficult at times. I just need to focus on time managemnt more.

*7. To WIN this 12 week contest! I am having the time of my life right now with this HRT routine and this 12 weeks contest. All I want is to do my best with it, change my body and win this motha fawka! 2nd place isnt an option!

*8. To win my class at the NPC Mid West Bodybuilding contest in St. Louis Missouri March 17th, 2012. Again, 2nd place is not an option! It is a national qualifier so i'm sure there will be some bad ass men there but i'm not concerned with them. I will come in and DOMINATE.. end of story.

*9. To set a personal record of 405lbs on the Bench, 500lbs on the squat and adding 2 inches to my arms. I have always wanted to hit 405lbs on the bench. I have hit 500lbs on the squat before but havent seen that number in years. (I had lower back surgery and had to start all over again with just the damn bar.)

*10. Lastly, to continue to set goals and reach them. Regardless of how big or small they may be. A goal is just that, a goal and you can't reach that goal unless you get off your ass and go for it.


Well, that's pretty much it in a nutt shell. I hope everyone that reads this will do the same, write those goals down and just fkn do it!

Not the best back workout today. I'm feeling a bit run down due to my diet. Im tired more often, this happens every time I cut so i'm use to it. I drink beet juice every morning now to help with energy (one of the MANY great things about beet juice). I hit the gym later than normal so that kinda played a part in my performance today. Im use to training around 9 or 10am not 2pm. But I gave 100% as always and I still enjoyed my workout and got amazing pumps and felt a killer burn baby.

BACK

*Wide Grip Pull Downs: 8 + 4 HCR with 120lbs
Kept it a tad lighter today so i can focus more on the contractions

*Seated Cable Row: 8 + 4 HCR with 130lbs
Nice pump with this movement, felt damn good and form was perfect

*T-Bar Rows: 8 + 4 HCR with 115lbs (plus whatever the bar weighs)
This movement is HARD for me. I can lift a lot more weight with great form but with HCR it makes it almost impossible to go any heavier than 100lbs


REAR DELTS

*Incline DB Rear Delt Fly: 8 + 4 HCR with 15lbs
These are also very hard, by the 2nd rep my rear delts want to fail on me and my form isnt exactly great


TRAPS

*Smith Machine Shrugs: 8 + 4 HCR with 315lbs
Normally I use BB but today the gym was packed and BB shrugs werent an option. Great pump though


CALVES

*Standing Calf Raise: 8 + 4 HCR with 275lbs
My god these burn like hell!

*Seated Calf Raise: 8 + 4 HCR with 145lbs (plus whatever the machine weighs)
nice DEEP burn, it felt like pure hell but I love it!



Notes: Not a "bad" workout but it could've been better. It is what it is I suppose. Diet is going fantastic, only down side is that I am craving peanut M&ms like a mad man! lol

Lol I mix 6oz beet juice with 1 scoop of a veggie supplement I have. It's called Vegetable Greens. Both alone suck but combined......oh.....my.......GAWD. :mad:

Got up at 6am this morning, grabbed my water jug and headed to the gym to do cardio and abs. Well... the gym thats closest to me (and where i work) doesnt open until 8am due to the "holiday"... WTF? Today is NOT a damn holiday IMO. So, i drove to the other gym (that i also work at) and they didnt open until 7am.. so i had to sit outside for a little bit. lol

Went in and busted out 45min of cardio with a 3.0 incline 15min @ 3.0mph, 15min @ 3.5mph and 15min @ 4.0 mph I was lovin it. Then hit abs.

2 sets of 50 crunches
3 sets of 30 + 1 set of 10 Rev Crunches
2 min planks front and sides.

No adductor or abductor work today.

Came home and enjoyed my protein pancakes and a banana. I feel great but I think I may go lie down for a bit and just cat nap. I love my old man naps.

The fly's are an absolute killerrrrrrr. Good work on the shrugs, dude. That is some good weight with this training.

The only thing i dislike about the HRT program is that its IMPOSSIBLE to use the heavy weight you are use to using. I can do DB side raises with 50lb DBs but only 15lbs with HRT! Bench press 315lbs + with HRT only 225lbs. Leg Press 1000lbs HRT approx 600. Yeah ego got ass raped with HRT BUT i feel more muscle working, more pumps, more quality work being done and my joints dont hurt at all. So it WINNING.

Off day but headed to the gym for some fasted AM cardio, Abs, low back, Adductors and Abductors. Nice little workout, I felt great and really busted my ass this morning. Came home and ate meal one, now its time to relax, eat and atch football baby!


ABS, ABDUCTORS, ADDUCTORS, LOW BACK

*Machine Crunches 4 x 25 with 110lbs

*Leg Raises: 4 x 25 with BW

*Planks: 2min front, 1min each side 2 sets each

*Low Back Ext Machine; 3 x 20 with 200lbs

*Adductor Machine: 3 x 15 with 220, 235, 250

*Abductor Machine: 3 x 15 with 220, 235, 250

CARDIO

45min Treadmill Varied incline 2min 2.0, 2min 3.0, 2min 7.0, 2min 8.0 repeat at 3.5mph


Soaked in sweat, tired but i felt damn good! I'm leaning out NICELY and feel great overall despite being tired more often. Diet has changed a little bit, time to get SERIOUS with this shyt! YEAH BUDDY!

I have a killer metabolism bro. I just ate an hour ago and im sitting here, hungry again and sweating my ass off. Already got a gallon of water in so the rest is cake for the day :) I've always been able to eat A LOT of food all my life. I eat fast to, my wife and step kids have watched me down 6 slices of a supreme pizza before they get 1 down. To me, thats "normal" eating. lol

Hey you are doing a good job man. I have a question though how come you are cutting? Isnt HRT made for bulking and gaining mass?

BTW I hate beets. My grandma used to force feed me them when I was young. I can however drink them mixed with orange and carrots.

I have a bodybuilding show march 17th. This program is best for bulking yes but will do just fine on a cut diet. I don't know if anyone had ever used HRT during a cut diet or not. Maybe RAGE has....? I'm gaining a little size with this routine despite being on a cut so I'm happy with it.

I've done HRT for around 5-6 weeks during a cut. Would have done it longer had I known about HRT beforehand, but started running it before HRT became well known. I found it really boosted the intensity of my workouts and kept my muscles feeling dense/hard throughout the cut.

if you cant get all 6 meals in a day you can always combine meals. As long as you get it all in youre golden. I use to combine all 6 meals into 3 meals. It was hard at first but i got use to it. But im always hungry so 6 meals works out better for me. Keeps my appetite happy. lol

Man, it feels so damn good weight training. I headed for the gym with a mental focus like a mad man. I wanted this workout to be the best one ever. I decided to focus on the partial and negative portion of the lifts more and fawk the amount of weight. In the beginning I was more concerned with the amount of weight I used and it really fawked with me that I had to use 50% or less weight than normal on most lifts. It sucked! But what I noticed is thatby not focusing on the partial and even more so on the negative I was cheating myself and not getting 100% out of this routine. So, I kept the weight at an amount that I could get 10 reps with but no more then use that weight for my HCR. For example I can use 100lbs easy on the side delt machine but 90 was the swet spot. I did my warm ups and 90 felt perfect so I stayed with it and damn... HUGE difference!! Major pumps, veins popping out like crazy and the burn was insane. I loved it!


On to todays workout!


SHOULDERS

*Smith Machine Shoulder Press: 8 + 4 HCR with: 145lbs
I litterally counted out loud on the negative 5,4,3,2,1 to make damn sure i got a 5 second negative. Nice and slow

*Side Delt Machine Raise: 8 + 4 HCR with: 90lbs
This was PERFECT. I felt more than I did using DBs

*Machine Front Delt Raise: 8 + 4 HCR with: 90lbs
I used a palms facing in grip and this made my front delt pop like never before.


BICEPS

*Preacher Machine Curls: 8 + 4 HCR with: 55lbs (plus whatever the machine weighs)
Biceps are really hard to do HCR with. They get so full of blood I cant flex at the top and the partial tends to be half assed

*Cable Rev Grip Curls: 8 + 4 HCR with: 50lbs
INSANE pump with these! Damn I love this movement!


FOREARMS

*BB Behind Back Wrist Curls: 8 + 4 HCR with: 155lbs
Very deep burn with this. It felt really good

*Rev Grip Wrist Curls: 10lbs
My left elbow hurts doing rev grip wrist curls, not sure why so i just used a bar with 10lb plate on the rope and rolled it up a few times. KILLER burn with little pain.


CALVES

*Calf Raises on Hack Squat: 3 x 10reps toes in, 10reps toes straight, 10reps toes out
Today wasnt calf day, I just felt like kicking their ass today :)





Notes: Damn good workout. By slowing the negative down dramatically made a HUGE difference in the pump, swoleness and BURN. Much better than ever before.






Pre-Workout: 1 Scoop RAGE!
Intra-Workout: Water
PWO Shake: 87g BIG Blend with 1 scoop Animal Creatine, 6oz sweet tater



PWO Meal: approx 1 hour after training:

Ive known people to combine all there calories into 2 meals a day. Works for some, i tried it but theres no damn way i can eat that much in each sitting. lol

LEG DAY! Damn, what a workout tonight. Had to hit the gym at 7pm.. which I HATE. I normally train at 9 or 10 am, I dont like afternoon or evening workouts. Anyways, enough bitching. I had a kick ass workout and I felt really good. The weights were lighter this time and I really focused on the partial and negative portion more. What a huge difference it made. My legs are FRIED. They were shaking like crazy on each rep and even more so on the negative portion. I counted down from 5 nice and slow on each rep. My wife was just as tired as I was. lol She said that by me resisting on the negative so much its makes it a lot harder for here. :) Oh well, at least she gets more exercise in. lol

On to todays workout!!


QUADS

*Hack Squats: 8 + 4 HCR with 315lbs
The weight was perfect, I felt a deep burn and a killer pump

*Leg Press: 8 + 4 HCR with 560lbs (plus the weight of the machine)
My legs were shaking like crazy, the burn was AMAZING!

*Leg Ext: 8 + 4 HCR with 200lbs
Perfect form, burn and pump here



HAMSTRINGS

*Lying Leg Curl: 8 + 4 HCR with 140lbs
My god these burned! The pump was so intense!

*Rev Hack Squats: 8 + 4 HCR with 135lbs
Normally I can do 315lbs with this BUT on this hack squat machine its really hard to do a lot of weight





Notes: On hamstring I like to do SLDL but there were several group classes in the gym tonight and I just couldnt get to the place I needed to do them. Doing rev hacks are killer, i love them but the hack squat machine we have is difficult to do such a movement on. But i got it done! Im feeling a bit weaker and not as much energy more often, but im an ANIMAL and will survive this. lol

Off day today. Man my legs are sore as hell from my workout last night. LOVE IT. Today I got up at 530am and headed to the gym for cardio, abs, adductors, abductors and glutes. Felt damn good and again sweat was running off me like a waterfall.


CARDIO

*Stairmaster: 20min level 5
*Treadmill: 20min 3.5 incline 3.5 mph


ABS

*Ab Crunch Machine: 3 x 10-12 with 100lbs
*Ab Roll Outs: 3 x 15

ABDUCTORS & ADDUCTORS

GLUTES

*Machine Kick Backs: 3 x 10 with 100lbs
My first time using this machine so i kept it light, plus my hams are sore from leg day


NOTES: Damn fine workout today. It was hard waking up and going but once I got started I was fine. Couldnt believe how muc I was sweating, it was A LOT!! Hoping to hold my bodyweight above 190lbs for my show, but think i'll be a tad lighter.. god I hope not.

Well, even though I trust him and even though he does know what he is talking about I dont listen to him. He isn't in charge of my diet and training. Tom is. So what Tom says do that's what the fawk I do. 5am fasted cardio ain't so bad. Lol (like hell it ain't) I do feel I still need my 1 cheat meal a week. I'm 198 and lean but still have like 73 days to go. I don't want to peak to soon.

Well, even though I trust him and even though he does know what he is talking about I dont listen to him. He isn't in charge of my diet and training. Tom is. So what Tom says do that's what the fawk I do. 5am fasted cardio ain't so bad. Lol (like hell it ain't) I do feel I still need my 1 cheat meal a week. I'm 198 and lean but still have like 73 days to go. I don't want to peak to soon.

Exactly. That's why he's your guy to go to. Let your trainer do all your thinking for these next 73 or 72 days now and you just focus on putting in work both at the gym and the table. Get it done.

I still remember people asking if I was sick, if I was Ethiopian (spelling), if I was fasting, I was getting too skinny, all kinds of crap like that. It can definitely mess with your head but just put 110% effort/faith in what you're doing and you'll be fine.
