Once again I would like to thank those responsible for allowing me this opportunity. As I stated before in my "Why the Hell shouldn't You Choose Me?" I have been very fortunate to have the proper mentality to go against the grain of what doctors, friends, and family have said that I could or couldn't get done. Animal has given us 6 solo Animals and the 10 Teams the chance to make something big happen. I look forward to this challenge like all the rest in my life. We were chosen because we talked a good game, but we are also expected to put up a Hellraisin fight and to show that all of us weren't just flapping our gums in the wind. For those of you who would like any help with food preparation I am more the happy to give you ideas... I was a chef for 10 years so I think I know a few things...

Thanks once again

Here are some pics. I had a job pt screening so am a little worn out. Who cares right? These pics will be a bit different in 12 weeks for sure. Will post meals and schedule tomorrow. If these pics don't come out well, if someone will pm me how to attach these properly I would be most appreciative. Am more used to triggers then keyboards...

Fellow solo competitors....Not going to lie, HRT is no joke... Had to drop some weights down to I guess a respectable start to finish my sets. I would also encourage all of you who aren't familiar to be ready for a beating. This training may not be 12 different exercises or some crazy number of rep scheme, but it will eat you if your not prepared. Don't skimp on the rest time either...or you'll get handled. LOL
Heres what I did for the day:

Arms -
Close Grip Bench - 105 lbs
Rope Pull Downs - 40 lbs
Overhead Tri-extensions - 30 lbs
Barbell Curls - 55 lbs
Preacher Curls - 45 lbs
French Curls - 25 lbs
Forward/Reverse Wrist Curls - 10 lbs

As soon as I have the proper amount of posts, I will have a video of me getting handled by 30 lb overhead tri-extensions with a rope. I haven't had such a great workout by myself in quite a while. My menu for the first three days will be up on Wednesday, along with my first video. I still want to congratulate all of you participating either on your own, in a team, or just for the Hell of it. I am sure that the gains will be surprising...If you need any recipes or flavor enhancers minus fats and sugars, I will be more than happy to help you out..

That's good stuff man, i see on most diets it says yams, they don't really have that in afghanistan, do you know a good substitute? It sucks to not be able to post videos and sh*t like that yet, when I get to post a video you will see me getting my a** handed to me on the last red of close grip bench lol. Glad every things going good man!

I think we're pretty much on the same level, a lot of similar numbers for our lifts. HRT is really no joke, I don't think I gave it as much credit at the beginning that I should have but that's a good thing because I loved the surprise when I couldn't finish and had to lower weight, felt good man

Yo stay safe over there. If you need any thing that the folks back here aren't sending you, be sure to pm me. I know how it is to be without regular stuff like baby wipes, socks, tp, beef jerky, etc... Anyhow, I never was lucky to be near many fobs, so we always ate a lot of oatmeal packets we got sent from home, brown rice in the chow halls can be very useful, and sadly enough we ate a crap load of that tasteless stale bread you get in MRE's. I also used to hoard the rice packets from them as well. Seriously, if you need oatmeal packs, just holler.

No lie. Today was a beast. Somedays you go to the gym all down and out and that can affect your workout if it lets you. But rarely have I gone totally pumped up ready to work and then been slayed, yes SLAYED, by the actual workout. My legs felt like I had elephantitus they are so filled with blood. I almost had a gym bunny carry me out.. Ok, well maybe not, but I really wished the parking lot wasn't so damn far away. One thing I do notice now that I am taking almost the full 5 minutes of rest in between sets is "How little some people actually do anything in the gym." It really surprises me. Leg day does't scare me like a lot of guys so I am really looking forward to next week, although I hope I can walk normally by friday...

Exercises for today:
Leg Press - 255lbs - will be heading up in weight probably another 30-40 lbs unless my form suffers.
Leg Extensions - 125lbs -
Deadlift - 120lbs- those last 6 reps were awful, that 5 seconds sure feels like a lot longer..
Lying Leg Curls - 65lbs - these kicked my a**
V Squat - 190lbs - I got handled on these my last set, but I got through with good form.

Tomorrow will be a great day of rest and studying. Will be posting a video if I get my 50 posts and putting up my menu for the week...

As many of you may be learning, HRT is challenging in so many ways. You have to really decide how your going to approach each workout, I am having some issues with my ex-wife currently (what's new) so this helps me concentrate sheer anger on each workout. But on the flip side of things, your precious poundages you have worked so hard to achieve, well they go down. I think HRT should come with a warning, that if your looking for an ego boost, then this workouts not for you.

Chest + Shoulders
Smith Machine Shoulder Press - 30lbs, 35lbs
Incline Bench - 95 x12 reps, 85 solid
Machine Flys - 20lbs, 25lbs
Dumbbell Military Press - 20lbs, 25lbs - serious pain starts here (not the bad kind)
Side Laterals - 10 sad little pounds a side
Barbell Shrugs - 185lbs solid

Here is my menu for the last 4 days:
Day 1 Meals:
Morning Protein shake + 1 cup oatmeal, 1 banana, 2 tspb natural peanut butter, water, glutamine.
Baked Chicken breast with wheat bun + oven baked fresh fries
Protein shake post-workout
Pork and beef Russian Koltetlys, (4oz) w/brown rice
Protein shake before bed
Day 2 Meals
Morning Protein shake
Oven baked tarragon chicken salad foot long on wheat bread
Protein shake post-workout
6 inch chicken salad sandwich on wheat bread
1 lb Sirloin Burger with cheddar cheese + wheat bun
Day 3 Meals
Morning protein shake
6 whole eggs + 2 egg whites, + 1 cup oatmeal
6 inch Chicken sandwich
8oz chicken breast + whole wheat linguini
8oz chicken breast + whole wheat linguini
Day 4 Meals
6 whole eggs + 3-4 oz Koltetlys
Protein shake post-workout
12 oz Reuben sandwich on rye, no thousand island dressing

Animals, are you all experiencing hunger throughout your days? Even on my day off I still ate like a madman. Maybe that's why I feel a lot fuller throughout my body. Who knows? I believe we all made it through the first of many weeks together. If your still here with me 11 weeks from now you will be able to raise your head high, unless your neck got crazy huge. Keep up all the good work. I hope I motivate all of you just as much as you motivate me.

Day 4 HRT
Wide Grip Pull-ups - arms felt like they were going to tear from sockets, dropped 40lbs to 3 sets of 140lbs. Could not do bodyweight..
T-bar Rows - 100lbs, 110lbs solid
Narrow Grip Pull-downs - 90lbs, 95lbs, will head up in weight
Hammer Machine Front Pull-downs - 55lbs, 65lbs, each arm
Calf extensions - 150lbs, per each leg
Calf raises - 215lbs, 235lbs

Supplements are really a HUGE help. I'm sore in all the right places but not to the point where it hurts to sleep on my side or bend over. Maybe that will come next week. Enjoy your rest Animals.

Something crazy has happened or I'm just super motivated today. Somehow all of my lifts increased, this is mind boggling...

Here are the results for today:
Close Grip Bench - 115 lbs, 125 lbs w/the last 2 insane. 35 lb difference
Rope Pull Downs - 40 lbs, 50 lbs = 10lb max difference
Tricep Overhead Rope Extensions - 50 lbs, 60 lbs = 30 lb difference
Barbell Curls - 65 lbs, 75 lbs w/only 2 negatives = 20 lb difference
Reverse/ French Curls - 40 lbs, 50 lbs = 25 lb difference
Fwd/Reverse wrist curls - 20 lbs, 30 lbs = 15 lb difference

Appetite is crazy. Animal supplements rock! I felt like the biggest dude in the gym for the first time in my life. Things were awesome today, can't wait for tomorrow.

I'm definitely feeling the hunger that rapidly as well. I also have been eating quite a few snacks of hummus and pita chips throughout the day to kind of try to stay ahead of the hunger pains. Too bad you couldn't have had some of my lasagna, each slice is like a meal all of its own.

I went to a level of pain/understanding today that I haven't personally felt since I was back at Parris Island in boot camp. Half way through this weeks leg day I felt like sitting it out. HA, I wouldn't give any of my fellow competitors the satisfaction. Just saying, y'all better bring it. I'm eating more, resting more, and am making solid gains.. Can't wait to see what happens next week. Put out or shut up..
Week 2 HRT Day 2
Leg Press - 275 lbs, 315 lbs - up from 255
Leg Extensions - 140 lbs, 165 lbs - up from 125
Deadlift - 140 lbs, 170 lbs - up from 120
Leg Curls - 70 lbs, 85 - up from 65 the last two negatives were extremely memorable..
V-squat -260 lbs, 280 - up from 190

I've gotta admit that I haven't been able to accomplish putting on weight or noticeable size difference like this before. You can take that to the damn bank. It's not only a pump, but the difference is noticeable days after. My weights are increasing every week, although I am not pushing my shoulders as hard as I would like due to messing up my rotator cuffs previously, so I'm taking it easy on them. My appetite remains excellent although I am having a bit of sleeping issues, but that's been typical since I got back from Iraq anyways.

Day 3 Stats Week 2
Smith Machine Shoulder Press - 35lbs, 40lbs - 5lb gain
Incline Bench Press - 95lbs, 105lbs - 20 lb gain
Cable Flyes 25lbs, 35lbs - 20 lb gain
Dumbbell Military Press - 20lbs ,30lbs - 5 lb gain
Side Laterals - 10lbs, 15lbs - 5 lb gain
Shrugs - 225lbs - 40 lb gain

Day 4 Stats Week 2
Wide Grip pull-ups - 1 full set + 6 second set had to drop 40 lbs
T-bar Row - 105lbs, 120lbs - 15 lb gain
Narrow Grip Pull-downs - 115lbs,125lbs - 30lb gain
Hammer Front Pull-down - 55 lbs no change
Calf extensions - 150lbs no change
Calf raises - 255lbs ,275 lbs - 40 lb gain

Wow. Life sucks right now. But new camera = new outlook for things to get better training wise.
Arms - I changed up some exercises here just to keep things fresh. Decent gains and incredible pumps.
Tri pull downs - 60, 65
Dumbell concentration Curls - 30,35
Overhead extensions - 35, 45 these really aggravate my shoulders for some reason
Hammer strength seated bicep - 50,65
Hammer strength seated dip - 120, 160
Cable reverse curls - 65, 75
Behind the back wrist curls - 45,65
Barbell wrist curls - 75,85
By the end of this workout, my forearms were screaming for me to stop with these wrist curls. But it was worth the pain for sure.
HRT is a lot of concentration, without it, you can't finish the sets. I love the way I feel after, except on leg day, then I feel like I want to cry.. haha

HRT Workout 2 Week 3
Leg Extensions - 150,160
v-Squats - 310,340 damn I was shaky after these. I have also moved this to the beginning instead of last.
Leg Press - 315 solid
Deadlifts - 185 solid
Lying Leg Curls - 90 kind of lost my groove here

HRT Workout 3 Week 3
This was an awesome workout. I was super energized and pumped. It lasted all the way. Damn side laterals almost killed me..HAHA
So you will notice a lot of Hammer Strength Machines, mainly because it was busy and I wasn't going to wait. Am pleased with the gains I have been making. If your not seeing a difference, your doing something wrong.
HS Flat Chest - 70,85

So far this week my eating has gone up again, thankfully and Ive been able to see the nicer side of a different gym. The equipment here in SC is crazy, I don't even know how to use it all as there is so much. Oh well, guess I will stick to what I know.

Week 5
What a beginning. I had the same exp. as BBK and got mad food poisoning to ring in the New Years. Oh well, hit the gym up hard to day. Here are the results.
Dips- Bodyweight
Seated Incline Curls - 20,25 lbs
Skull Crushers - 40 x 2
Dumbell French Curls - 30,40 lbs
Curlybar Tricep Pulldowns - 45,55 lbs
Single Arm cable curls - 35,45 lbs
Dumbell wrist curls - 10,15 lbs
Reverse wrist curls - 10, 15lbs
The wrist curls are something I have never concentrated on before. I can see a difference already in just these last couple of weeks. Update will be early tomorrow morning.

Hope everyone had a better New Years than I did.
