My bf has a bottle of Androgel test. Obviously not meant for women, but is a little bit OK? What are the effects on a female. Maybe a pump or two a week. Not every day.

Um...why? Are you inquiring because of a low sex drive? Or because you're hoping it'll put on muscle?

If you have not noticed most people on this web site are not friendly towards drugs or questions about them. If you are serious about this question go to the forums on musculardevelopment.com. and you can find some help there. Good luck =)

It has nothing to do with being friendly or not friendly about the topic. I actually could careless about what someone chooses to do and I would never intentionally try to make him/her feel bad about it. I'm genuinely curious as to why she wants to use it.

I didnt mean to offend anyone. I was just wondering if any women may have tried a little dab to increase sex drive and if it worked.

Don't worry, you didn't offend anyone :) It might be a good idea to talk to your doctor about this first before trying anything. I can't imagine it would necessarily be harmful, but I know absolutely nothing about testosterone boosting gels, so I'm really not one to give advice!

Even low dose test can eventually cause virilization (the development of typically masculine traits such as facial hair growth and deepening of the voice) in women. So this is not something to consider lightly. Go see a doctor if you really have low libido issues. The problem could be hormonal or psychological.

If you do try the Androgel, effects will probably be localized to where you use it (assuming you only used a small amount). It is not anabolic and will not store in your body, which means that most of it is absorbed through the skin and doesn't make it to the blood stream. Some will, of course, but the majority will affect the area you apply it to.

I know a woman who took it to increase her libido, but she had to apply it directly to her genitals, because applying it elsewhere on her body would have left her with more outward physical effects such as hair growth etc if she applied around back, arms, or legs. Her Dr. told her she would have more success using it on her genitals but that it would cause clit growth which is not reversible, so I think you should definitely talk to a doctor before deciding to do this and think through the possible results.
