I created my own gym in my basement and have worked out a few times and I've noticed the bar is always heavier on the right side.. either way I hold it and it shows no obvious signs of a bend, so I imagine if it is bent is slightly bent but when I roll it on the ground I see no deviation at the end of the bar from either side. However when I pick it up it is clearly heavier on the right side and feels like it wants to go in that direction. Anyways it been laying down there for years, not really surprising but I need a new one.. looking on craigslist but thought I might ask here, mark rippetoe was saying in one of his videos if its under 300$ its probably crap that will bend easily does anyone know good brands to look out for?

I've been happy with the Texas Power Bars at my gym. Elitefts has them on sale right now.
Rip helped design this : http://www.roguefitness.com/burgener-ripptoe-bar.php Never used it though.
It sounds like your bar is reasonably straight, but it's just out of balance. Is it possible that it's missing some hardware on one side? How far out of balance is it?
(Use a tape measure to mark the lengthwise midpoint of your bar with a piece of tape. Then find the midpoint, weight-wise, by balancing the bar, and mark that too. How far apart are they?)
