multi
fish oil

and most recently this

http://www.totallynatural.com.au/sleep-more.html

tried it after my GF bought some. I find it far more effective than ZMA (I'm refering to deep sleep, not test or anything else). After I wake up its like i have been watching a film. My dreams are so full and vivid.

I do feel slight drowsy on waking (and its my alarm waking me rather than natural which not that common on work days), but after i feel replenish.

I've used Pre work outs and have some effects, but nothing that justifies the spend. But wouldn't rule them out in the future.

Used whey in the past, but more of a convinience thing being at a desk job and eating small meals to stop me being lethargic, but since moving in with GF we find to cook a protien heavy meal most evenings.

Used to take BCAA tabs when working fasted - just bough some Xtend to try it instead.

As a preworkout or to keep me warm when cutting, I often take tabs containing caffeine, synthetic ephedrine or DMAA

Next time I cut, I am going to experiment with a fiber supplement to slow digestion - in order to address my hypoglycemia issues.

I think a diet rich in dairy is all that's necessary to obtain enough vitamin D. Eggland's Best eggs also provide a good bit of vitamin D as well. In addition to diet, most multivitamins, provided you take one, contain a sufficient amount of vitamin D.

Also, if you spend a good amount of time out in the sun, Vitamin D absorption should not be much of a problem (although during winter, this would get a little more difficult).

Also, if you spend a good amount of time out in the sun, Vitamin D absorption should not be much of a problem (although during winter, this would get a little more difficult).

This is largely incorrect. Go get your vitamin D levels checked, I'm certain you'll be surprised to find that they will be low. Relying on the sun isn't a very good idea because most people aren't going to / don't have the time to go out in the sun, and, as you've mentioned, at certain times in the year, vitamin D production may be greatly hindered (or there may be a "complete" vitamin D winter at very high latitudes). Milk + multi will probably give you about 600 IU / day, which I find to be too low. In addition, milk contains the vitamin D2 form, which *probably* isn't as good as vitamin D3 (I err on the side of caution and don't take vitamin D2).

Of course, you're going to have some studies claiming that the optimal vitamin D level is quite low, but as always, these studies have some major problems, making the "optimal" vitamin D level almost impossible to define; however, from what we know about the molecular changes occurring in autoimmune diseases, diabetes, HTN, etc., I think everyone should be supplementing with vitamin D3.

Does anyone have experience with Na-R-ALA? Is it worth it or is it a junk product? I would post this in the supp section (lol) but I'm not fond of BS.

I had this study bookmarked for a while, http://relentlessimprovement.com/included/docs/R_lipoic_PK.pdf , but I never really bothered to look into it. Apparently, Na-R-ALA may be better than R-ALA (and the racemic mixture), but I haven't been studying pharmacology for too long, so you may want to ask neuron / NOHYPE / some other supp geeks I'm forgetting (maybe Pug or Alan can chime in? IDK).

I'd be surprised if you weren't obtaining enough magnesium already from your diet. I used to think that I was deficient, but found out that I hit sufficient magnesium levels through whole foods pretty easily.

Perhaps you haven't seen this (http://www.sourcenaturals.com/products/GP1459/) (along with various others) multivitamin yet. Taking the full dose allows you to obtain 1000 IU, the same dosage that could have been had with separate vitamin D3 supplementation.

5htp is a precursor to serotonin. the goal of it is to increase serotonin levels in your brain. kinda like prozac, so unless you get constipated from depression, it should not act as a laxative. on a side note though there is a theory that CNS fatigue is caused by a depletion of serotonin so im kinda looking into this.

JHarden

The enteric nervous system controls the movements and secretions of the intestines. Serotonin is one of the main neurotransmitters it uses. So it is possible that it can help with digestive function.

That's one reason why people that become chronically depressed can become constipated as well as why many antidepressants can have diarrhea as a side effect.

enteric

idk what that means.

It's in essence a separate nervous system just for the gut, composed of the myenteric and submucosal plexuses. It's given its own classification because you can remove the control of the CNS and it will still function. Essentially, you can cut the vagus nerve and place a bolus of food in the gut and it will still carry out peristalsis. It's regulated by the autonomics, so parasympathetic nerves (rest and digest) speed up it's function while sympathetics (fight or flight) slow it down, but it is capable of functioning on its own.

The serotonin hypothesis states that the reason for prolonged fatigue during exercise is due to a high ratio of serotonin to dopamine. Raising your serotonin levels is not what you would want in this case.

You mad that even if your Vit D levels are considered 'high' by a doctor's standards, that supplementing it to reach around 10k IU a day can have a very positive effect on testosterone levels?

High by a Dr's standard is like 2k IU

interdasting. what brand do you use? might pick some up. only supps I use are BCAAs and Creatine. Pro powder as well, but as mentioned, not much of a "supp" as opposed to easy food
