Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but if this is your first show you'll be doing the novice division I presume? I don't know if the Emerald Cup has a novice division. But please check. The Emerald Cup is one of the top NPC amature shows in the country and I thought they did away with the novice class.

I'm pretty sure they had it this year, but I can't quite remember....would make the show really really long. only downside to no novice class is you still get the novice's just in the open class and it takes forever in prejudging to give them the fair stage time.

I'm pretty sure there was a novice class this past year. I remember getting out pretty late from the night show.

I just looked up the website. No novice class listed... I knew that they were talking about not having it. The only downside to the novices going forward and entering the open class is 'usually' once you go open you can't do novice again.

For NPC the rule to compete in Novice is that you can no longer compete once you have WON your class at an NPC show. So you can do open and go back to novice unless you win your class.

I just had to post because someone mentioned Tri-cities. My whole family lives and is from Tri-cities :) I live in the Seattle area and almost went back there for TG and worked out at Golds - ended up staying here though. I've done E-cup twice before - but now am shying away from the NPC.
