View Full Version : Do Pre/Intra/Post workout cals work the same way as carbs?

Hi everyone,
I take a pre workout and post workout drink and use a different drink while I’m in the gym. Roughly speaking the 3 drinks add up to about 325 cals and 60 g of carbs.

I know with a Keto diet you don’t count the pre workout carbs since theoretically you will burn them off during the workout but I was wondering if it works the same with the cals and does it work the same if you are not on a keto diet structure.

I’m trying to keep my cals to 1500 daily with a 40-40-20 split so I’m wondering if the 325 cals from the workout potions should count against that or not. I ask because I'm thinking of dropping the liquid combo or changing it up in some way. Otherwise I'm eating less than 1200 cals daily (when I can stay within the guidlines) and frankly I'm always hungry becuase of it. I'm not looking for a way to cheat just a way to maximize my results without always being hungry.

Does anyone have an opinion? As always thanks in advance!
