Was just thinking about something.
Would it be possible to take an xbox 360 and combine it with a PC.
So you would have the best of both worlds, the graphics that PC offer with Xbox Live.

yes it is possible and Microsoft tested out cross platform gaming between Xbox and windows PC's. the test pitted average PC gamers against professional xbox gamers. The result was the PC gamers pwning the Xbox players, thus they scrapped the idea.

Rahul Sood (founder of voodoopc . est 1991 acquired by hp in 2006 . former cto of hp global gaming . now working at microsoft as a gm in the entertainment business . the articles in this blog are my own opinion & not that of my past or present employer)
There was a project that got killed at Microsoft. This project was designed to allow console gamers and PC gamers to interact and battle over a connected environment. Personally I wish it would have stayed the course. I've heard from reliable sources that during the development they brought together the best console gamers to play mediocre PC gamers at the same game... and guess what happened? They pitted console gamers with their "console" controller, against PC gamers with their keyboard and mouse.
The console players got destroyed every time. So much so that it would be embarrassing to the XBOX team in general had Microsoft launched this initiative. Is this why the project was killed Who knows, but I'd love to hear from anyone involved --- what happened?

wouldnt be surprised if this is done in the next few years. windows 8 is apparently going to be capable of running xbox games, whether it be 360 or the next gen, i dont know. but expect it from microsoft in the near future.
not sure if it will just mean the games will run on PC for PC gamers to play against each other, or if it will be cross platform though

What I mean is like could you combine them so that you get better graphics but its still an xbox. I would still want to use a controller.
I want to play it exactly like an xbox but have a better graphics card.
No hate but obviously if you put a team of mouse and keyboard against controllers. Mouse is going to win everytime. Its not a level playing field. I dont see why PC gamers would brag about that.

Windows 8: looks like a mobile phone, runs like a console...

The answer is no, you cannot do this. Xbox games are designed to run on a very specific set of hardware, changing this would wreak havoc.
