Lots of threads on dip belts.

I know that I firmly believe (and others who have it will agree) that the Ironmind dip belt is THE best because it is strong, comfortable and portable.

Here is a thread about it with a video:

Also, if you want to go a super cheap route and make your own, you could try this:

yea let me parrot that... i've had the IM belt for years now and I probably would not buy another belt even though it is slightly pricy. it is worth the price! it is just comfortable as hell and Strong! I heard the ones sold on BB.COM are good. This topic has come up many times so do a search and you'll find recommendations. Ironmind ftmfw

Ironmind is good because it rolls up and doesn't have a chain; does it fray in the long run?

Belt with chain I use a Spud INC dip belt they run 40 dollars.

It's nylon tubular webbing. This stuff is used a lot for setting up climbing anchors. If left exposed to the elements, particularly sunshine, it degrades over time. It will fray when exposed to sharp rock edges. A climbing rope pulled through nylon webbing can saw through the webbing amazingly fast.

I would think that the webbing would last a very long time on Ironmind's dip or (hip belt) squat belts, especially if attached to a loading pin via a carabiner. If you thread the belt webbing directly through weight plates, the relatively sharp edge of the plate will expedite fraying.

Just to add to the already-answered topic, I quite like my WSF squat / dip combo belt. I've only put 90 pounds on it (never any more yet), but it's held together just fine and is pretty comfortable. It cost me $41, so it's great value for the cost. If you're looking to spend more, there might be better quality stuff out there... though I don't know what really else you could need (maybe something more expensive would be stiffer & padded more expensive? I don't know).

I would always thread mine though the plates. I don't think I would like a Loading pin for my pullups.

I've seen your videos; It looks nice and compact the way you set it up. I think those big plates would be cumbersome if oriented horizontally.

I'm impressed too with how quickly the chain on the Spud belt attaches.
