ugh, wish I had actually written down who placed where. Lotta surprising calls last night. To quote one of the very well known Pros I was chatting with.. "The non-American Builders went home happy" -lol

I will say that the Men's Pro classes, especially the Middle and Heavy, were just damn scarey looking. I know in the past (notably in 2010), the Pro class weight limits were adjusted according to the # of competitors and their scale weights. This year, I believe there were actual rigid cutoffs enforced (friend of mine was 8 oz over the middle cut off and got thrown in with the heavies!). I heard that Lightweight was <165, which I believe is different than the 160 amateur cutoff. Not sure what the others were, but again, some real huge looking dudes in the middles and heavies!

I'm pretty sure that the Pro Lightweights 3rd place wasn't Ulyses. I followed that class very closely since I know Langevin. THere was a shorter competitor, very conditioned, but lacking a bit in size who took 3rd.

In the middles, it was just looked downright scary how Shevon looked! Size and conditioning that no one else in the class was touching. Vaughn looked good, Brandon looked good (actually chatted with him for a bit after the prejudging and he seemed to think that Shevon had it).

With the heavies, its always hard to beat Martin's sheer size when he comes in tight, and he certainly did this year. Rich was massive, but from where I was sitting (pretty damn close during the prejudging actually), he wasn't as tight (and was seriously pale in comparison to the rest of the lineup), and it was his enormousity (is that even a word? -lol) that gave him the nod. This seemed to hold true in the evening show as well. The crowd was filled with some serious noise and outbursts at the announcement of the Overall Winner.
