laptop battery

is it fine to leave my laptop plugged in all the time? or will it kill the battery?

i use a lithium ion battery that i just got
my old one pretty much died as it only charged to 8%

so should i only plug it in when it reaches about 10% or will it be fine to leave it plugged in at 100? my old one lasted about a year

Was your old laptop a Dell?

some batteries are crappy, and wear out fast (like Dell batteries, don't even get me started), and keeping them plugged in after they are fully charged wears them down a little bit faster. However, if you are using the computer and it's fully charged, then it's ok to keep it plugged in. just be sure to unplug it at night when it's off
