Looking for prices on the 580m, 570m, 6990m and 6970m. Cant find ish anywhere, dell, newegg, clevo, nothin. Anyone know where to buy laptop cards?

Also, do you think those cards are a bit overkill for BF3?

Currently running 5870, on default settings smooth as fuark, but wanna run on Ultra. Reps for answers once im off RC.

Well first off, have you even checked if your laptop is possible to upgrade like that? Most laptops have the GPU soldered to the mobo.

I have alienware m17xr2. Bought it almost 2 years ago? Most of those models are coming with these cards now. Also ive taken the card out and repped it since my first 5870 burnt out. second slot is free. Its not soldered.

There isn't a big market for them because it's impossible to swap the GPU on 99.9% of laptops.

You can swap mobile cards?

basically your best bet is to get other broken alienware comps and swap them out, not to many laptops run gpus freely.

What? They don't sell mobility cards though.

If you want a Laptop that can run BF3 at high around 40 frames, i can find one. I doubt you will find one that can run it on Ultra under $1500. At that point you might as well build a better computer.

So after doing some research, from my understanding alienware is one of the only people who make those mxm slotted cards. So dell is the only distributor, or one of the only. Only other way around that would be to buy peoples old cards on tech forums and such.

I'm assuming that either A. I have to sell this damn thing and just build myself a beast ass desktop. or B. Find somone to sell me one of their cards. Any takers?
